   this may be desicive for the season ahead. maybe a man with experience and obvious technically ability is the type of player that aresnal need on the bench, and to come on against the big teams when we are looking to kill the final minutes

   vieira is a captain , a leader , someone who can still take the game by the scruff of the neck and pull the team through difficult times in matches!!. who wouldn’t want that??

   he would relish the holding role, a freind said he saw vieira against chelsea and he was kicking lumps out of mikel and essien and STANDING UP TO CHELSEA! which we didnt do in last previous games.

   at the end of the day if he can come and play half a season worth of games then i would be happy.

   on the hunterlaar subject we get him good, we dont then nvm and as for hangeland the same

   He could be great for us….. Again but in a whole new light. Exp.. for sure, skills for sure, legs well here we are….. but I would bet a gold egg shittin goose for 13-18 games a season and a some injury free time he is still better than any option than 95% of the current crop (EPL wide). It is time for Heroes Arsenal we have four we need six.

    Come on. Vieira is hardly “exactly what we need”. He is old, his legs have gone and he couldn’t play more then 20 games. That being said, bringing Vieira back as a type of player coach would be brilliant, espeically on a free, PROVIDED that his signing was not at the expense of another midfield signing. Vieira’s experience could certainly help such a young squad of players but he is hardly the solution that you are claiming him to be.

    Seems to go against everything Wenger stands for. I saw him a few times for Inter in Champions league and I’m afraid to say he isn’t the player we remember that played for the Arsenal.
    Maybe Wenger is looking to get him on the cheap to play during the business end of the season,possibly the last 20 games. In that sense he could do a job for us. And by all acconts the player is desperate to get into the French squad for the world cup which has to be his final hurrah at top level football.
    Look we have money to spend so imo he’s worth a punt now that alot of the deadwood is in the process of being shed.
    Also a possibility of PV4 moving into a coaching/mangerial role at the club now he is close to retirement.

    first arsene wenger does not have to spend for expensive DM player at this season and then his experience by the year will make Denilson improved.after that to be sure on the title wenger just need the sharp goal scorer to strenghterning the squad

    i think you are missing a few things here .
    1. he is a natural leader of and on the pitch.
    2.denilson and song could learn shit loads from him.
    3.id only play him if fit in the top games as he will come as a pay as you play contract.
    4.it would be nice to here hes song sounding around the library {emirates}
    5.even half fit hes still a better tackler and passer of the ball than what we have at the momment .song denilson diaby they just aint ready and seem wanting too many times .

    Vieira clearly isn’t ‘exactly what we need’. However, I would take him back as a squad player simply because of the experience, leadership and moral boost he would add to the squad. If we sign him cheap with little expectation other than the aforementioned attributes I listed then it could be a smart move.

    We still need to sign another midfilelder but if Vieira and Matuidi both signed, I think we would be looking very solid ahead of next season. The is more to a successful season than performing on the pitch and after the departure of Kolo Touré, I feel that this squad not only lacks experience, but also character. Vieira would instill that in the squad whether he is playing or not.

    Get him as a coach maybe, but it’s a waste of limited cash to buy him back as a player.

    I think having him back would be great, we all know we can beat the top teams but lose against the small teams in the league Paddy could change all of that by playing them at their own game and really taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Dont think he would be too great against the top teams but we dont need him for that

    What a load of sentimental rubbish, are you guys really arsenal supportes and pretending to be one. PV4 is past it and he wouldnt be able to hack the pace of the premiership compared to donkey paced seria A. Sing PV4 song is stuff of nightmares for the rest of the team, have u ever thought what impact it would have on the rest of the team, showing them how unintelligent you lot are.
