[Ratings] Awesome Arsenal Smash Everton for SIX

Arsenal kicked off the new season in perfect style by smashing SIX past Everton away at goodison park.

Denilson fired Arsenal ahead with a curling 25-yard strike before new signing Thomas Vermaelen doubled their lead with a header from a free-kick.

William Gallas headed the third before a Cesc Fabregas brace made it 5-0.

Gunners substitute Eduardo was on hand to tap in a late sixth before Louis Saha tapped in the most inconsequential of goals for Everton in injury time.

    Sinbad was right…

    We are doomed : ))))

  3. Tony Adams says:

Andy Gray’s worst nighmare. I hope he chokes on his pie.

  4. Swinedog says:

Agree with your ratings. Song was fantastic today

  5. RayJ says:

I was really worried about this game! Thought the Times interview of AW was inspiring as was Song today. Nuff said.

  6. Kalix says:

Sooooo nice. I think we had 9 opportunites and scored 6!!! Not that good game but unbelievable efficiency. Still hope for a signing in midfield.

  7. DeMoses says:

I did not watch the game myself, But I am generally happy with the results. It only pains that I wasn’t there. We hope that injuries don’t let us down for the rest of the season. Gunners let’s show our support for the players and our manager.

  8. slaz says:

phil pinnocio thompson said there is no more big 4 it is now the big 3, id like to rub his great big hooter into the goodison park pitch. still have rosicky, nasri and walcott to come. we wil go very close this season and if the confidence grows over the next few weeks we may end up unstopable. fuck the pundits.

  9. marsenal says:

did anybody hear that scouse phil thompson say on sky sports news this morning, talking about “I only see a top 3″ f’ing biased w***er. I hope he and andy gray choke on a BIG ole granny smith pie lol

  10. mjc says:

I can’t believe we couldn’t keep a clean sheet against that rubbish. No way we can win the league with that level of appalling defending….

  11. mjc says:

    [Sarcasm]

  12. mjc says:

marsenal: I heard that comment too – and he was SO SURE about it. Don’t worry though, the Arsenal result will be written off a fluke, or purely down to Everton being shite. Thommo knows….

  13. Marko says:

Where’s Sinbad? Or does he only turn up to bitch and moan.

  14. GunnerX says:

Marsenal……..I too heard about the comment from the biased red faced cunt, also I cant wait to hear from the twats on MOTD, we’ve been written off by all and sundry. Sky sports are not even featuring one of our players on their lead-out banner, we’ve been replaced by Manshitty, oh how I love it when we are underestimated.

  15. dan says:

Calm down, it was a good result but everton gave us space to play and in doing so killed off the game themselves, plus their defending was pathetic. We took advantage and credit to us, but it’s a long season. Wenger should still strengthen but I think we can all feel more confident that top four shouldn’t be an issue.

notice now these reports dont have the contributors name on them in case Sinbad gets yet more abuse lmao

  18. Osiris says:

Fantastic Game…watched every minute and spot on with all the ratings tho I might have rated Denlison a little higher simply because his goal was stunning. I think the midfield looked solid today with three central midfielders but if we brought in either Nasri or Rosicky into midfield then we might need someone of a bit higher caliber than Song in the holding role. Defense looks great except for a couple of occasions where they fell asleep (including the conceded goal) and if we don’t sell Senderos then I don’t see any reason to worry about defensive depth.

I wonder where all the doomsday predictions are now. Especially Sinbad who i’m sure was dreaming about an opening day loss to validate his prediction for 6th. I bet he had another moan filled article ready (about how Wenger should go and how we need to spend) that he would have wanted to publish after the opening day loss.

  19. gazzap says:

Not Song Billong, but now Song Belongs. I really hope he emerges to be the player wenger knew he could be. He started to show flashes of it last season and today was superb. cesc was amazing and it will be good to see him back to his best again.
Vermaelen just looked the business. he challenged for every ball and shirked nothing – just what we needed. Everything was perfect today.
We need Song to have a season of performances like that and seriously Arsenal could win the title. but its a big ask.

    Man, MOTD guys have said that everton was so poor that the goals we scored were stopable…they said if lescott’s head had been right, there is no way we would have scored those goals….motd are wankers!! no one likes arsenal, but we shall use the negative comments from everyone in this country as AN encouragement to go for glory!! I love what fabregas said about toure and ADEBAYOR, READ BELOW;

The Gunner also confessed that the team had not missed Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure and insisted their leaving had been the best solution for all involved.

“They are great players but they had problems,” added the midfielder.

“They didn’t really want to continue at Arsenal so it was the best thing for them to do and for us as well because we want players who are committed and want to be together for the season.”

The Spaniard also warned that football is a fickle beast and that not too much should be read into today’s stunning result.

“It’s just one game, we won 6-1, one day they beat us 3-0, football is like that,” he mused.

“This is football, we know this, one day you are the best and two days later you are the worst team in the world so let’s keep it real.”
