Guus Hiddink – “The German passport for Mesut Özil is false”

Arsenal target Mesut Özil is playing for German in this summers World Cup with “false documents”, thats according to the new Turkey manager Guus Hiddink

Guus Hiddink, the new coach of Turkey’s national team, was asked about Mesut Ozil by a collection of Italian journalists. Ozil has a Turkish father and was apparently very keen on playing for Turkey until eventually deciding on Germany, where he was born.

Hiddink was told a reporter from

“The German passport for Mesut Özil is false. The document was falsified to allow Özil to play for Germany, although he is entitled to play for them.”

Ozil was born in the German city of Gelsenkirchen. Some have speculated that this is just ‘sour grapes’ on behalf of Hiddink, but for a manager so respected in World Football to make a comment like this, he must know something we don’t.

They stole Jerome Boateng as well after a meeting with Ghanaian officials (his father comes from Ghana), they brainwashed him to play for Germany.

I think the whole idea of players being eligible to play for a country just because they were born in that country is wrong, it should be decided on your parents nationality, grand parents etc etc its this that gives you your nationality and identity

No, this was a mistranslation. Hiddink said that Özil chose the wrong passport (falscher Pass) – falsch means wrong. He should have chosen the Turkish passport, then he would have played for the Turkey team under Hiddink. This was actually a compliment, but it is being misreported everywhere!

as already said, this was a complete mistranslation. And btw it’s absolutely right thing that Ozil plays for Germany since he was born and learned to play football there.

    Dont you mean Turkish guys.

It is wrong that he chose to play for Germany. He might have learned to play football there but he probably would have played football if he grew up in turkey. He is a Turk as his blood is 100% Turkish
