[Photo] Vermaelen & Arshavin Wearing The New Home Shirt

Arsenal have revealed their new home kit for the 2010-11 season and above is one of the first photos of the new classic design.

Vermaelen said

“I really like this new kit. It’s the typical colours for Arsenal, white and red, and it’s really nice.

Every club has their own traditional colours. For Arsenal it’s red and white and that’s the way it’s supposed to be.”

  6. Jarred says:

Ok ive seen these pics on a few websites now, and im extremely disapppointed. Especially in light, its looks pink. I know its retro, but this looks like one you would see in a rip off store in thailand…. Sigh…. Was looking forward to seeing this, and its a massive let down….

  7. Arsenal Norway says:

Boring design for me, but I think some old fans will like it. I will be going for the away kit.

  8. Deaje says:

Is this how they attempt to get more cash out of us? Well at least it’s got a half hearted retro feel to it, I can see the long sleeve being very popular.

  9. chiko says:

am a dead hot fun of the gunners and this jersey is UGLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  10. Jake says:

    Fake and gay

  11. Remy says:

Lazy & rather camp pastiche of the old 1970s & early 1980s kit, given we didn’t always play in white sleeved jerseys I was hoping we’d go for a deeper red & more modern design, like the Dutch WC kit. I think the short sleeved kit will look dreadful on the more rotund fans & will just feel very gay with jeans.

  12. BillyBatts says:

It’s not fake you absolute weapon. It’s on the official site.

Red shirt, white sleeves, ticks all the boxes for me.

  13. Ralph says:

For all those complaining – that’s what a bleedin’ Arsenal shirt SHOULD look like. Not some airy fairy dreamt up on acid nightmare, or even less the bleedin’ Charlton shorts we’ve had to endure for 2 years.

Classic and clean – just like The Arsenal.

  14. Ralph says:

Sorry – Charlton shirts not shorts.

  15. Rachid says:

Ralph, do us a favour and get out of the 70s please. This kit looks old, ugly, outdated and irrelevant. You’re clearly some old dude who can’t accept that the past is past and we should move on now.

  16. Remy Guly says:

Why didn’t they launch it by dressing the bust of old Herbert Chapman in it? I’m sure Nike wanted to take the club-kit in another direction but the old farts in the boardroom probably kicked up a stink about being truthful & faithful to the Arsenal traditions. BTW, we originally played in an all red kit that was the same colour ochre as Notts Forest(they donated them to us & we adopted them as our club colours). Old Herbert decided we needed to have white sleeves & red socks instead of the original blue & white striped ones….we did revert to the original colours in 1967/68 but it didn’t last.

I don’t think this home kit will sell very well as it looks like a gym kit, the round collar makes it feel & look like a cheap imitation u’d buy at Wilkos. I was hoping they would drop the white sleeves for an all red number & used the maroon/claret on the collars & detailing. Something like the Pompey away kit by Kappa thay they wore for the FA Cup Final.
