[Prediction] Arsenal to finish outside the top 5

[Prediction] Where Will Arsenal Finish The 2010/11 Season?

With only a few days till the big kick off for the new 2010/2011 season, Now is the time to do your end of season pedictions.

Who will win the league?, Who will go down… And of course, where will Arsenal finish?

23% of our members on the forum think that Arsenal will finish 3rd, Do you agree – [Here]

Personally I fear that this coming season will be our worst under Wenger. I can see us finishing outside the top 5 and out of a Champions league place.

My end of season Prediction

  • 1 Man Utd
  • 2 Chelsea
  • 3 Man City
  • 4 Tottenham
  • 5 Liverpool
  • 6 Arsenal
  • 7 Aston Villa
  • 8 Everton
  • 9 Fulham
  • 10 Blackburn
  • 11 Birmingham
  • 12 Sunderland
  • 13 Bolton
  • 14 Stoke
  • 15 West Ham
  • 16 Wigan
  • 17 Newcastle
  • 18 West Brom
  • 19 Wolverhampton
  • 20 Blackpool

Why?….Well, Lack of signings “But whats new”… With our current back 4 and GK we have no chance. But we knew this last season. Shame Wenger didnt address this in the summer. Long season ahead lads, and its going to be a painful one… But I hope Im wrong.

    August 9, 2010 at 6:50 am

Not a chance in hell of Spurs competing for the top four with the extra 8 games they’ll have to play because of being in the champs league. They’ll be mid table come xmas

you utter moron, please stop posting this drivel. Current squad we will finish at least 3rd. New keeper and central defender………….champions

    August 9, 2010 at 6:59 am

Seriously? Your calendar is least 2 weeks ahead of mine. Even in the worst-case scenario, you cannot assume Arsene going into season w/ 3 CBs. That, my friend, won’t happen. I will come back in 2 weeks and check your predictions.

    August 9, 2010 at 7:02 am

No real Gooner could put spurs finishing ahead of arsenal in a league table its sickining and disgusting you will be proved wrong!!!!!

  8. brdgunner

    August 9, 2010 at 7:03 am

And manchester City will struggle with Europe and the league. They both had the Premier League as thier only target last year and couldn’t finish above us.

Arsenal will finish top 3 again, we need a keeper and CB to win the title, but without them won’t put us 6th. That puts nothing between 1st and 5th but two players. Get a grip.

C’mon! Do you know anything about football. Spuds will finish 6th and we are 1-2. Wanna bet?

Sinbad : I agree with you. Only a few days to go and Wenger still hasnt signed a GK and a CB. What is going on?

Why vocalise such negativity – CONSTANTLY? The transfer window is not yet shut, and even if it were, it’s time to chill out Sinbad. Please do us all a favour, for once this month, this season in fact, try and post something that accentuates the positives!

Yes the transfer window is open till the end of Aug BUT this season STARTS this wkend. This should have been sorted weeks ago. Give the new players time to work as a unit

With such a negative attitude, it must be difficult for you to get up in the morning !! Why cant you find another team to support !! I suspect you dont really support The Arsenal, go up to Scotland, queen of the South, might be an option.

Check the rest of our competitors. Man City aside, no-one has really signed anyone of note. Spurs have signed some unknown, Man United have signed Hernandez….that’s about it. Oh, and Chelsea signed Ramires. Colour me terrified.

    August 9, 2010 at 7:41 am

look man, i dont know who you are or what kind of fan are you but i seriously doubt your predictions….we shall not finish 6th and i can assure you this u “deusche bag.”….the only point where i agree with you is that we require 1 more defender and keepr, and that any gooner knows…tottenham above us,are u on crack?……WHY DID U EVEN WRITE THIS POST????
…WE ALL KNOW WE REQUIRE A KEEPER AND A DEFENDER,SO, HOW CAN WE HELP IT, THYE MANAGER DECIDES ON THESE ISSUES….THAT DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE GONNA FINISH OUTSIDE THE TOP 4….ALSO,reports have emerged that we are looking for a new keeper….Keep the faith, this post was ill-timed u should have brought it out on 1st sept, when the window ends….provided we didnt sign anyone, it was seriouslu sad to see that a gooner feels like this…

Reckon this is going to be a very difficult one to call – given most of the WC players will be under-done at first. Is your pessimism about us justified- and your optimism about the others being better?

We have more firepower- the boy wonder is stronger as is Cesc. Is Walcott worse than last year? We have the same keepers plus Chesney- Almunia is Ok against all but the best. Is the defence that much worse without Gallas- given that Gibbs and Djourou are back? I cant think of a single defence that forward line is going to struggle against- and I didnt think that last year. It might not happen immediately- but when it does-its going to be good. Remember we averaged over 2 goals a game when RVP was fit last year- we now have areal CF in addition to him.

If we defend like we did against Legia every week we wont be 7th we will be struggling to get into the top 10. But we wont. We do need a Centreback and ideally a defensive mid and top Keeper and then we could be champions.

No we will be better than you expect- but probably not at first.

not only this!! What if Wenger really renew his contract?? We will be fukked for another 4 years!!! Why cant we fans do nothing against this situation? Time is up for Wenger. Wenger needs to realize he isnt Arsenal alone. He is just an employee and his job is to win us trophies!!! FFS we are 3. richest football club in world and acting like an unknown moldavian little club!!!

We have not made up any ground on either United or Chelsea from last year. We also have Spurs and Man City competing for our coveted 4th position.

I think the league will look something like:

    1) Chelsea
    2) Man United
    3) Man City
    4) Arsenal
    5) Spurs
    6) Liverpool

I think we are going to be 20 points behind the leaders and only a few points ahead of Spurs.
Liverpool are in s*it street still and I doubt they will finish above us.

Ur article is shit. How can you say we will finish outside d top 4.When we lost hleb, flamini, and gilberto,we neva finished outside the top4.Our manager will get things done.Chelsea were full of shit yesterday, and in all their pre-season games,bt still no rubbish comments.

  25. Arnold

    August 9, 2010 at 10:02 am

Lets face it guys, Wenger is not going to buy anyone else…and when I mean anyone I mean no recognised players are going to come in. If saphic or whatever the hell his name is comes in then say goodbye to any hopes of winning anything!!!!! Just be happy with competing, losing 3-1 and 3-0 to man united and chelsea at the emirates, expect more of the same embarrassing displays this time round.Wenger is dillusional in his old age and would rather keep muck like walcott and denilson and all of our keepers??? Instead of using our “great financial position” to buy the players we desperately need. Other clubs are 700 billion pounds in debt and still buy better players than we do!!!!

Mark my words if a new CB, GK do not come in, and with the premier league in its most difficult season in a long long time, we’ll find it hard to qualify for champs league and end up with liverpool in 7th or 8th position.

come on koscielny, hop on the steroids, unless you like looking like a girl whom the like of drogba and rooney will blow over with a whisper.

GOOD LUCK GUNNERS FANS, along with myself, we’ll be enjoying another trophy-less season with some of the most embarrassing defeats you’ve ever seen!!!!

  26. Arsenal Fan

    August 9, 2010 at 10:02 am

Now, I believe it’s possible we can finish outiside the top 4 but to consider the spuds finishing above us is just retarded. Who have they signed to make you think they can finish above us?

    August 9, 2010 at 10:31 am

There is no doubt in my mind, that if we fail to buy another goalkeeper and a CB we will not make the top 4. The squad has weakened from last year, as much to do with confidence of some players (aAlmunia etc) as it is the loss of players.

Our GK are no where near good enough, they cost as between 5 and 10 goals a season, indirectly and oretcly, the defence appears to have no confidence in any of them, they are shakey as it is…… Hell!!!

    But….. If we buy at least a top goalkeeper and one top CB we could push for the title (assuming Fab, RVP, Vermaelan stay fit for most of the season). if we dont, here’s my prediction;
    1) Man United
    2) Man City
    3) Chelsea
    4) Liverpool
    5) Arsenal
    6) Spurs

If we do get teh two new top players, here’s my prediction:
    1) Man United
    2) Arsenal
    3) Man City
    4) Chelsea
    5) Liverpool
    6) Spurs

A minute’s digging and I find this interesting little link from just before last season…

Equally as interesting is this line from within that article…

“See Sinbad’s post { HERE } He has Arsenal finishing 6th this season. Do you agree with him?”

Most interesting of all, when you click on the link and the page seems to have been deleted.

    Sinbad, you’re pathetic. Go away.

    8) Aston Villa

  32. Ron Silver

    August 13, 2010 at 1:03 pm

What a bunch of brainwashed followers!. Why are you slating someone for having an opinion?. I seriously doubt that YOU MAJORITY commentators know what you are talking about. Whether it is a money issue or not, Wenger has shot himself in the foot so many times it cant be coincidence. We need a star striker. We have not had one since Adebayor. Bendtner is not the answer. He has been allowed to masquerade as a star striker but in reality is not fit to lace Adebayors boots. We could have taken the original Ronaldo a few seasons ago for peanuts, but didn’t go in for him for fear he was overweight. What happens?. He goes back to Brazil & top scores as his team takes the Brazilian title. We could have had Drogba & Cristiano before they went to our rivals. When Anelka came back on the scene, we could have had him back. He is Thierry Henry’s best friend, & he would have got the best out of him. Instead?, he bounces around the premiership before eventually winning another title at our London rivals Chelsea. We let Ashley go for 5k. 5k?. He hasn’t stopped smiling or winning FA cups, Charity Shields & Premierships since. So much for our fans trying to rile him with chants of him being a greedy so & so. Why cant Jay Simpson be given a chance?. Why have we lost the like of Bentley who was touted as the next Bergkamp. Look at how well Ashley Young is doing at Villa. Now he may end up at our dreaded rivals?. Whats wrong with Wenger & English players?. What legacy will be left when he leaves?. We could have had a bully like Carlton Cole for peanuts. We could have had Jermaine Defoe when West Ham were relegated. They only wanted 7mil. If he can score that much for Spurs, how much would he have scored for us?. Heck, I would have taken players like Peter Crouch, DJ Campbell, Jason Roberts or even the ex-Leeds player Jermaine Beckford who’s now at Everton. If Wenger doesn’t wake up this season, we aren’t going anywhere. I believe Wenger took a lot of credit which should really belong to George Graham, as that back 4,5 or 6 was his. What we need are young English lads who wont go home without a care the next time Man U whup us 6-0!. If you don’t believe me, watch neutrally our losses this season & pretend you are a Spurs fan & you will understand that the buck stops with Wenger.

  33. Andy Mack

    August 13, 2010 at 11:46 pm

It’s embarrassing that we have supporters like Ron Silver that thinks Adebayor is a striker (his miss ratio was even worse than Bendtners – which is poor), or that the Brazilian league is in any way comparable to the premiership, or cannot understand that as a kid christiano turned us down to go to manure (we didn’t turn him down), Or that Bentleys ego got in the way of him becoming a good players so we got rid of him before others understood it. Ron Silver your sport should really be rugby as you don’t seem to have a clue about football.

Sinbad, if wait until the transfer window is closed before making predictions then it could prevent you making a twat of yourself.

As a neutral I couldn’t agree with Ron Silver more. Arsenal have been lacking somewhat for a few seasons now. Wenger needs to spend money. Keeping the club in the black is all very honourable, but 6 years without a trophy for a club of Arsenals stature is CRAP. Losing players like Nasri, Fabregas, Adebayor & Clichy has not done them any favours but you need to replace them with players of the same quality if you want to win something. Bargin basement buys from unknown European teams is not good enough. If Arsenal do noy win any trophies again this season, I think Mr Wenger will be asked to go. His time is up and it’s time for a new manager & a new era. I think that Sinbad’s prediction of a 6th place finish is both fair and will turn out to be pretty accurate. Arsenal fans need to open their eyes and not follow their team blindly, blaming everyone else for their failures. This applies to discipline, not winning games, not finishing teams off when in control of games and many other things.
