On the day that Mr Gallas has signed for the shite down the lane, I would like to get something off my chest.
Gallas you’re a scumbag, I never did like you and not for the fact that you took the number 10 shirt, or the fact that you protested on the pitch and showed a lack of class as our club captain. I don’t even hate you for joining the spurs…
I have you for forcing one of my all time favorite players out of the club, Mr Kolo Toure.
And Wenger I hate you with all my heart for selling Toure instead of Gallas.
Toure was one of our most loyal players, And because he fell out with Gallas he was sold to keep Gallas happy.
Toure couldn’t work with Gallas and when he signed for City he felt that the club (Arsenal) didn’t love him anymore and that’s why he had to move. Overlooked by Wenger for the captains armband ahead of Gallas and forced out the club by the moody Frenchman. We lost not only a great player but a great person who was loved by everybody in the club.
Wenger should have sold him [Gallas] the minute he fell out with our REAL captain Kolo Toure.
Now Gallas has proven himself to be nothing more then a money grabbing mercenary and he will fit in very well down the lane.
To the spurs fans who lurk on this blog, this is for you.. What type of player are you signing? No doubt a fantastic CB on his day but a player who cares more about himself then the team. A player who has a long history of cause trouble in the dressing room for country and club. You think you are getting a good deal? Just wait till he starts moaning and pissing people off… You are signing a problem child and you are more then welcome to him.

Toure never recovered from his bout of Malaria. Been on decline for about two years now. Some players just peak early I suppose. Slow, sluggish, caught out so many times for Citeh last season. Right decision. As much as I hate Gallas, he’s still the better player.
Toure got Malaria and was shocking from then onwards. He remains a true legend at the club for his services, but the sad reality is that Gallas was a better player at the time Kolo departed. And you seem to have brushed over the fact that we got a staggering 16m for him!
Although his personality has and always will be abrasive to say the least, Gallas was a good centre back for us. He was never loved, he was never a gooner, but he did a decent job.
i agree that toure was the better bloke, the more loyal Gooner, and more of a force in the dressing room than gallas could ever be; but he was not as good a player, and as vincent says, he’s been in decline since he came back from the ACN with another bout of malaria a few years back.
There is no point in wishful thinking; if Wenger had to sell one of them for the good of the squad, then i had to be Gallas – and you cannot question Arsenes loyalty, thats for sure!
Kolo Toure was (and still is) way over the hill. That Arsene managed to get 16M for a lad he’d bought for 250k was last season’s best piece of business. Your “And Wenger I hate you with all my heart for selling Toure instead of Gallas” is puerile and unwarranted hate mail. Grow up.
The only REAL issue this web page have is Wenger. And that because you decided to; selling Toure for 16 millions and Adebayor for 25 was terrific business, and why is it so living proves are both players in City that would consider a perfect job offloading them for half of their price. I hope that you had a chance to read an interview of Buffon who was claiming that City can never get to top four with the defenders who would never make in any of the best clubs in the world. However you can continue to bullsh*it on your page about Wenger but there is a saying “while dogs are barking, caravan continues its path”. Young Guns are becoming Big Guns and sooner rather than later you’ll witness the dominance of this team.

I know what you mean about Gallas, but sorry, Toure was sold because his performance had declined so badly and showed little signs of returning. He didn’t exactly prove Wenger wrong at City last year did he?
Regardless of who we like or dislike out of the two of them, there is absolutely no doubt who had the better season last year.

The truth is Toure was shown to be a bit rubbish once his mate Sol left. He’s been at City for a year and looked rubbish there too. Out of the two I’m sorry but Gallas is the superior player. Toure is a legend here and always will be. Also to lose Gallas would’ve brought in far less money than losing Toure which means Arsenal being the way it is we might not have signed Vermaelen.
Nope Toure was starting to be crap. And he was throwing games in big situtations with stupid panic tackles all the time. Atleast we don’t do that anymore. You could almost say the panic defending from 2 years ago could have led to Almunia playing sh*tty for the past 2 sesason.
I love Kolo personally, very committed, hardworking, honest and funny guy. But, at the time he left Arsenal, Gallas was a better player.

Not really.Toure has become shit because he nver recovered from Malaria and we were lucky to get so much for him. Saying that though, i do hate Gallas and have always hated him. Fucking twat always causing trouble and how dare he disgrace the no.10 shirt. Glad Gallas is gone…we just need a replacement better than Koscielny and preferably someone more experienced and a defensive leader.
I agree with the posters who say Toure wasnt the same player after the africans nations. Getting Maleria and playing on those rock hard pitches did for him. He was shown up a bit after Campbell left too, example being conceding a needless penalty at Anfield in the Champions league game after we’d got back to 2-2 and were going thru on away goals.
Gallas is a very good defender and I’m gutted he’s gone to Sp*rs for nothing. Dont think many gooners really took to him though. ‘Arry said they got him for less wages than what we were paying but thats only because no one else was prepared to pay the 90k he was demanding. I think it’s a shame Gallas and Campbell would’t agree to 1 year deals but thats Wengers rules eh.
I just hope we dont regret losing so many defenders come the end of the season.

During his time at Chelsea he didn’t have much chances to partner Terry but Chelsea were having a solid rock defence and people believe Gallas was involved in that. Besides Sol, Toure did well when he partner SEnderous, and even hold the record of the best defence in the champion league. Gallas has no good record or history as a CB with any partner. Sadly, Toure was the victim when both of them didn’t click. How i wish Toure can partner TV…

As regards the Gallas issue,Arsenal messed up.
Gallas was not treated well,considering he was the most cosistent and exprience defender on our side and considering the fact how he handled the issue of withdrawal of arm band from him (captainship).Because Gallas decided he will not talk again so that the press will not twist his word does not mean he is a fool,more than 4clubs came for him when he lost the captainship but he stayed with us and did his job diligently but how did we pay him? our chairman morked him openly about his demand that was wrong you dont go to the press and anounce the negotiation you are having with your player in the press.
Tell me if we strip Fabregars of the arm band today you think he will not move on at the next available transfer window if clubs come for him.
I beleived Gallas went to shite-lane not for money but to make a statement.And we need to follow event this is not the first time it will happen in our club ask PIRES,GILBERTO and FLAMINI they will tell you,why is it that those players that are ready to serve us and also good at doing their job are not apreiciated but we tend to pamper those who their loyalty have starded fading e.g. HENRY left us after we paid him 5m sign on fee and inproved contract of another 5m/year,ADEBAYO left us after we increase his contract to 80,000 per week and FARBREGAS agitating to go after we made him the highest paid in our club at age 21 and also give him captainship.
But Gallas never wanted to go but we made him a subject of ridicule just as we did to Pires,Gilberto and Flamini(we almost force him to Birmigham that year and refuse to give him another contract untill 3months to end of season)what does that tell you.Gallas served his term with us with all his strenght and ability but we did not fancy it to the optimum but we always prefer want away players to pamper like Hemry,Adebayo and now Farbregas.

in my opinion wenger gets 99 percent of things right, even though i know alot of people dont agree. but u have a good argument here. to be honest i would much rather have a loyal player who loves the club than maybe a better player who doesnt really care about the club so much. i must say i still always watch out for toure when he plays for city coz there is no way we can ever forget him, but as fas as gallas goes, hees history for me.. hees nobody, i will never feel like he was an arsenal play
What a pathetic article! You “hate Wenger because he sold Toure!” Yes, Gallas is an arsehole and I’m glad to see him gone ad yes, Toure was a lovely man and fantastic loyal Arsenal man, but Wenger made 16 million quid on a player who is past it and has never recovered the form before he went away to the Africa Nations Cup and developed malaria. It was a fantastic business for a player that would have never kept up with the team and would have sat on or outside the bench. Get a grip on reality and the facts!
I have always hated william Gallas! He isn’t that good of a defender anyway, people just see a name and think he is awesome! Gallas was never a leader because a leader puts the team before himself and makes the tough descions even if he will not be liked for it. Wwell he was half right anyways he never put the team first but everyone in the team disliked him. If i was manager i would have got Gallas in the swap deal for cole but would have declined his asked for dennis berkeamps number and seen how he would react to that… He would of obviously went out to the media and cried and then i would have sold him. I like spurs though they have a really good team and will be in the top four again this year, but i still hate them, but even i wouldn’t give them gallas. He only signed cause he hates arsenal because they hated him.
Gallas was the wrong player at the wrong time for Arsenal. His problem was not ability but personality and temperament. I’m sure Wenger saw him as a wise head for his young side, but he detached himself from the other players and in some cases antagonised them. Toure always seemed an easy going guy but it was clear that he and Gallas didn’t have the chemistry needed for a really successful defensive partnership. Given Toure’s decline in performance and Gallas’ wierd temperament it’s probably best that they have both left and we can have a new start in central defence.
Gallas is wrongly labelled as World Class and he is forever world class and fuck those pundits who insist he is world class. King Toure is just a scapegoat when their partnership did not work out.
