This week Arsenal told the world that the club has made a record profit yet again — £56million

And our accountant “sorry” manager said “I can’t believe people criticise me for making profit for Arsenal”

Well, Mr Wenger the reason why people criticise you is because you are too stubborn to see that players like Almunia, Eboue, Song and Diaby are NOT good enough!!!

EVERYBODY in world football knew that a goalkeeper was a must for Arsenal this summer if we wanted to win the league, but know you made a crazy £2m bid for a 38 year old keeper.

Wenger only seems to care about making money for money’s sake. Why dont you Spend it FFS Wenger?

I said at the end of last season that we needed a New keeper, A powerful CB and a quality midfield dominator. But what did we do this summer? Trimmed the squad right down and losing more players then we signed, balanced the books “as wenger” always seems to do.

So today’s game, I’m struggling to think who pissed me off more.Almunia, Diaby, Eboue ,Song or Wenger…IT WAS A BLOODY CIRCUS!

Today was just awful. Poor passing, Poor crossing, Poor defending, Poor keeper. Wenger got everything wrong, from his starting 11 & tactically.

Alex Song’s job is to sit just in front of the back 4 and protect them. Instead he surges forward thinking he is Cesc and leaves us open to the counter attack. Do your f**king job man.

Koscielny our £8.5m CB was just clueless!!!

Eboue is a very good RB, HE IS NOT A WINGER!! Why is Wenger playing him on the wings in a 4-5-1?

Arshavin again was poor!

And as for Almunia? You can see why the young Keeper Szczesny is so frustrated that Wenger thinks that this clown and Fabianski are “WORLD CLASS” as mistake after mistake!

Ratings!

Almunia 3/10 ( I never wanna see this Muppet play for us again )
Sagna
3/10 ( Still cant cross a ball, But apparently a very good defender? Roasted by Thomas )
Koscielny
4/10 ( We paid £8.5m for this? )
Squillaci
5/10 ( Looked slow )
Clichy
6/10 ( Tried to get forward and make something happen )
Eboue
4/10 ( Please Wenger stop playing him as a winger )
Diaby
4/10 ( Looked off the pace, With Diaby he is fantastic 1 week and crap for the next 5 weeks )
Nasri
8/10 ( Fantastic, MOTM, The only player who really looked up for it  )
Song
3/10 ( A headless chicken, Clumsy, wasteful, Slow )
Arshavin
4/10 ( Looks like a player that doesn’t want to be at the club )
Chamakh
6/10 ( Up top on his own with no support, needs to play in a 4/4/2 )

So it looks like we will be fighting it out for 4th again this season? Won nothing since 2005,   But who cares, we make a profit… Right Mr Wenger?

I miss ARSENAL pre-emirates….,the REAL ARSENAL. We had heart, passion, Ambition and we was a SPORT 1st Business second! Anyone who cant see that has NO …… ABSOLUTELY NO intelligence. CHANGE IS NEEDED.

  2. jacob says:

AKB hater… well why don’t you go and support another team then? Highbury is now a residential development with Gardens and high-end flats. As for intelligence… how would you know anything about that??

  3. dakinzman says:

Thx Sinbad for laying out the truth about Wenger. Why does he think he can win even the Carling with Fabianski or Almunia? There is plenty more clown activities to come from both of them before the year ends.. Season after season Arsene shows the world what a joker he is.

  4. Shaun says:

You are absolutely spot on. I am just sick and sad of seeing Arsenal that when the baggies went 3-0 up I was laughing to myself. you know why? because I knew what all our fellow gunner fans (at least most of them) did; Wenger is arrogant or just being over-protective of his players trying to fill an empty jug with his wise confident words. The problem is that the jug has a hole in it and it burst spectacularly today. My analogy may not be perfect but it represents what’s true about Arsenal. We seem to radiate an aura to opposing teams that they could exploit us at the back through the big gaping hole (that’s what she said) that is Almunia/Flappianski. Adding to insult is the fact that yesterday our rosy financial picture brought the real cats out of both Wenger’s and Gazidis’ mouths. The fact that we’ll never spend on world-class players. We’ll look to develop players and Wenger priding himself on how many careers he’s launched and his need to ensure his legacy at Arsenal. I truly admire Wenger for what he has done. For balancing the books while ensuring a top four spot. the fact that he’s truly blind to blatant holes in our side leave me exhausted on supporting Arsenal. Anyway that’s my rant. I know it’ll not change anything. But I’m willing to heart-breakingly reconsider my support for my beloved Arsenal. I am upset that our club are no longer aiming to be winners but a business that feeds the coffers of Stan kroenke and co.

  5. rory mckee says:

arsene just go simple as that.leave now and we will remember you fondly for all the success and good times you brought to our fine club.this outfit are going nowhere there are weaknesses very clear to the eye in quite a few areas.what puzzles me is why can arsene not try what worked for him before,in saying this i mean look at the invincibles, they had height, strength, muscle and class.this current team has none of these attributes.they are far to lean,no muscle on them and always getting injured.its a mis match to compare us to the champions from down the road, they have real strong pyshical classy players and you seen how they walked all over us last year home and away.i wasnt fooled for a second when we beat bolton, blackpool and blackburn into thinking we can win this.cesc you are classy as you are also samir.the rest are just to inconsistent to win us the league.good luck taking care of drogba next week i bet he really fears us.we might win the carling cup and honestly that would do for me.thankyou and cant wait for the joys the season has in store.godbless yous my fellow hurting gooners.

  6. koray says:

Almunia is a cunt! end of! he turned a poor team performance into this kind of OTT debate, with his terrible mistakes. If he doesn’t make those mistakes, we probably win and the lacklusture performance that most teams suffer from, from time to time, goes out the window. Neur in!!!Wenger deserves stick for not signing a new gk. I personally love the guy but his made a mistake on this one and its not defensible

  7. Valentin says:

I was at the game, and in my view the main responsible for the debacle were Wenger, Arshavin and Almunia.
Wenger because from the first minute it was clear that Diaby, Eboue were struggling for fitness. They were already running on empty after 20 minutes. Arsene Wenger need to realise that no matter how good a player is an unfit player is not a good player. He should have played some youngster like JET. They could have injected some urgency in the game. That exactly was Wilshere brought to the game when he was introduced. That was a bad initial selection.
Replacing Koscielny by Vela and moving Song in the defense was a bold move. I could see what he was trying to do. Howver by moving Song in the defense and leaving Arshavin on the opitch he created two problems. We were already struggling in the midfield because Arshaving was never tracking back (I will come back to that later), but on top of that he replaced our outstanding central defender by somebody who think and act as a central defender. Song was very good going forward to add the extra number, however he went missing on the third goal.
I know that some people will blame him for the third goal, however contrary to some posting the third goal was not done to Almunia going on a walk about. It was due to the entire defense being out of position. Song acted as a central midfield plaing in the defense. he made the wrong move and assume that somebody in the midfield would cover for him. Nobody did and he was nowhere near the goal line to be able to block the shot (Squillaci was late in realising the problem).
Arshavin was a disgrace. Nearly all the goals and the offensive position that West Bromwich had were due to him losing the ball and not tracking back to retrieve it. He kept trying the fancy tricks that never came off. He kept leaving Clichy facing two player Forcing Song to cover for him and leaving a big hole in the middle of midfield. As Eboue and Diaby were not fit, they were unable to properly compensate Song movement. Check the second goal to see the complete absence of tracking by Arshavin. When he switched to the right, he left Sagna exposed.
Almunia was excellent in the first half. Even after he conceded the penalty and saved it he was OK. However in the second half after he made a mistake for the second goal he simply was a bag of nerves. Having 20,00 of our own fans castigate him was not very nice. However it is time to use our Polish reserve goalkeeper and I do not mean Fabianski.
Almunia is a decent goalkeeper but clearly he is not a world class goalkeeper.

One of the few plus point of the game was Samir Nasri. He was excellent today. He played like a man possessed today. He was making run, shooting, tracking back, tackling. Everything that some of our player were shirking away from doing.

  8. Jack says:

Seriously…. If you look at the ratings you have given, only 1 player got a decent rating, which means the TEAM had an off day…. GET OVER IT!!! SHIT happens, move on, build a bridge!!

Stop whining!!! Start being positive about the team and Arsene!! We have a great squad and we are contenders, get behind the boys!!

  9. adiiii83 says:

Cmon ease up ppl. It was an overall rubbish performance. Not cos the players aren’t good enough. Just simply cos we played shiiite. You can see the on the players faces that they were expecting an easy game, so they ignored the tactics. These games happen from time to time. Players think it’s an easy game so they try and show off skills that they don’t have. Song was the biggest example today. I’m a big fan of his game, that is when he’s sitting and winning balls back for us. Or when our backs get beaten and I see him covering. Today I saw our defence exposed cos they weren’t protected by our midfield. The 1st goal Sagna got creamed by Thomas, but where was the cover. 2nd goal we had 2 men marking that guy whose name I can’t pronounce, with Song ball watching instead of following the run. 3rd goal again, everyone making half assed challenges on Thomas, making him look like Robben out there, it was embarrasing. He plays the ball accross, Almunia rushes out, then gets confused and comes back. A shocking cross comes in and there isn’t a single Arsenal player in the box apart from Clichy if i remember correctly running past the ball into the goal for some reason. We made 4 errors and we got punished on 3 occassions.
I watched Barcelona play at home against Hercules a couple of weeks ago, where they lost 2-0. It was a really similar match, where everyone for barcelona decided they would try and look like Messi and got embarrased.
Now you can sit here and talk shit all day about how shit our players are and how Wenger needs to go. But I’d rather put it behind me and concentrate on partizan and then Chelsea. But I’ve noted all the duds who have come out immediately and jumped on the Wenger-needs-to-go bandwagon. If we get a result against chelsea next week and I see you giving a praise to the players and wenger. This is a GET FUCKED in advance

  10. Archibald Thorus says:

You complete fuckin’ cunt. None of those players are as bad as you wrote there. Stop trying to make the supporters panic you complete fuckin’ waste of life

  11. stuart says:

This was a disgraceful team performance. The team came out expecting to win. For a team that should know by now that there are no easy games in the premier league that is unacceptable. There were players out there who don’t deserve to be wearing there and white of arsenal. Diaby is one and almunia is the other, they are not good enough. I do not expected a result at chelsea as we are likely to be over powered by stronger players as we were against wba. We will not win anything again this season; and that view is not based on yesterdays performance but from the summer and the knowledge the squad is not strong enough and the fact individual personnel are not good enough.

  12. frank says:

to blame this performance on injuries is stupid we are missing some basic things…..
    1. poor goalkeeping
2.week defence no man to man marking
    3.lack of vision in midfield
4.tip tap passing does not win games good use of wings does it often puts the defence in a state
5.running into spaces by forwards with forsight will bring more goals
    6.manly strength required all round
7.there are so many problems that it makes one wonder about the management system!!

  13. Since1979 says:

Here we go again well you have been quiet for a while so now you can have your rant and say how you were right and everybody else was wrong have fun.

  14. Indigooner says:

Loved the ratings except for Chamakh n Clichy.. No one other than Nasri deserved above 5. I agree that Song n Sagna were the poorest. Song plays like Wenger has already told him that he will replace Fabregas when El Capitan finally gets bored of being a pretender n leaves.

  15. johnny Hoy says:

If I had the misfortune to read anything by this person before I’d presume if was the wrong time of the month for her.

  16. eduman says:

Eboue, Arshavin and Diaby should be playing for Watford.
Bring back Edu or get Xavier Alonso. When a team presses you deep all over the field you need the trusty left foot of someone who can play early, accurate 40/50 yd crossfield balls in behind the defence, not a players who tries to dribble their way out and end up 10 yards deeper than where he started from

  17. Goonerant says:

I was at the game yesterday and I’m still getting over the disappointment and anger at the quality of our teams performance. From where I’m sitting:

    1) Wenger disrespected WBA with a week starting 11
    2) Song was rusty after suspension.
    3) Diaby was not fit after coming back from injury and should not have started ahead of Wilshere or Rosicky.
    4) Eboue should not have started ahead of Wilshere or Rosicky.
    5) Our squad is not deep enough to absorb the injuries and rotate to be ready for Belgrade on Tues and the Chavs next Sat.
    6) Almunia needs to go as soon as.

Our problem at the moment are the injuries and the poor quality of our top two keepers.

  18. jj says:

yesterday was the first time i have seen so many empty seats. the attendance said over 60,000, but people are not turning up to watch arsenal anymore.

The tactics were wrong yesterday, nasri couldnt get on the ball for the first half, song thinks he is an attacker, arshavin plays when he wants too.

almunia got booed yesterday, its not his fault, we all know he aint good enough, the manager is the only person who is to blame, i think its time for him to go.

Arsene has transformed the club, and for 10 years had us playing the best football i have ever seen, aswell as winning titles.

For the last 4 years he has had to stop us falling out of the top 4, which he has done very well.

Everyone can see this team, as it has been for the last 4 years, is short a few players to push us on to challanging chelsea/manu. Arsene is too wrapped up in proving himself right, and everyone else wrong.

We will be 7 points below chelsea next sunday, and out of the tittle race. In the first week of october. Not good enough.

I hope we go on to win a cup this season, a fitting finally for arsene’s tenure. Champions league hopefully, FA cup at least.

And then, a new manager. Who? i havent a clue, but someone with some fresh ideas. Arsene, I salute you, thanks for everything, and good luck!

  19. Mick says:

What a complete load of shit this article is!
It was an awful display but that doesn’t mean the players aren’t good enough and it doesn’t mean that Wenger has or is losing it. Overall we have a great team that has started the season well and but has had one bad game. You fans that are whining and making out that our whole season is over are a fucking disgrace! Every team has off days. Yes it was a shit performance and yes it was massively disappointing, but the fact you are writting us off after one loss is fucing pathetic. You should be ashamed of yourselves – your supposed to support the players we have on the pitch. I don’t think that anyone is happy with having Almunia or Fabianski in goal but instead of turning your back on them and booing your own players during home games you should be geting behind them and trying to give them a confidence boast. It can’t help their state of mind when they’re being slated in the media and then their own fans turn on them.

  20. Ibrahim says:

I was not our day. One of the comments was very clever; bringing young players (2-3) is very good in this type of matches.Iit is at home, and they will show great detemination and work rate. We missed that a little bit yesterday.

Fabrigas could have made the difference in the first half already, Im sure of that. I said before and I say it now, we are not the same without him.

Nasri and Whilshere were the only two players who did their job correct. Nasri did very well, In other circumstances he could have been the man of the match for us for his performance.

Chelsea can have a bad day too. They were also bad yesterday. I believe a win next week for us will bring the optimism back. It is still early to make judjments. I know a lot of fans have a lot of doubts about our team, but I m convinced we are more than capable of winnig the game next week and even winning the leagues.

  21. josh phelan says:

PLAY SZCZESNY HE IS OUR BEST IF WE KEEP HIM W8IN HE WILL LEAVE!!!! HE IS READY – WHAT CAN HE DO WRONG THAT FABIANSKI AND ALMUNIA HAVENT ALREADY DUN WRONG !!! ARSHAVIN MAY LOOK LAZY BUT THIS SEASON HE IS ON 4 GOALS AND 5 ASSISTS. HE IS BASICALLY A SECOND STRIKER. ITS ABOUT TIME SZCZESNY GETS A CHANCE. HE HAS A POLISH CAP THAT SHOWS THEY HAVE FIATH IN HIM. HE WAS SOLID AT BRENTFORD. SO ARSENAL FANS LETS GET BEHIND HIM AND SHOW WENGER WHO WE WANT TO B OUT NUMBER 1.

  22. pat shev says:

Almunia is finished as a keeper. What ever small bit of confidence is shattered now. Usually the no.2 will step up to the mark but not our chocolate wrists. Try our no.4 szczesny he couldn’t be any worse. need to get rid of the dead wood like diaby, eboue, denilsen and couple of keepers. wage thiefs the lot of them

  23. Al says:

Shocking to say the least. REALLY POOR PERFORMANCE. Its the cost of the stadium thats causing this – reducing the debt is the issue and having limited money

  24. Alex says:

Diaby and Eboue are good players but they were not fit… give me a break. Thay are both headless, unable to create anything? unable to control the tempo, the game, they can not pass and they looked completely lost, devoid of any ideas. It had nothing to do with their fitness – it is absence of footballing brain, which is sorry to say permanent with these two. These two must not be played together in midfield, it is a disaster. It happens every time they are together in midfield. As for Arshavin – he will never track back deep, it is not his role, he is instructed to play up the field and move left-rigth more than back-forward. He can not make circles, no footballer is fit for this.To blame him for goals is ridiculous. Arsene has underestimated West Brom by playing Eboue and Diaby he thought West Brom would be as stupid as these two. And he was awfully slow to replace them. Once they gone the team has transformed even if it was way too late, thre two clowns should have gone at half time. And I am afraid Diaby will play against Chelsea. This prospect is really frightening.

  25. 1970'sMclintockCompany says:

“I cant believe people criticise me for making profit…”

Why dont he just be a business manager and let a proper coach take over? He will NEVER spend big money because he’s so money-minded, rather that seeing what the benefits – and successes – a top quality player would bring to Arsenal! That’s why he keeps buying cheapsales. 2m for a 38 yrs old, instead of the wide range of WC keepers he saw in S Africa! What a cheapskate, and that’s why he’s boasting about making profits. Are fans actually asking about profits or goals and winning titles?
No wonder cesc is frustrated? You bet cesc wasnt thinking about the profits watching the game yesterday, chasing the game 0-3!

Wenger needs to take the blame, you are the one who chose the side. And for all those wenger-worshiping idolators who slam us for critcising wenger, please get lost!! Paying fans have every right to tell the manager he’s wrong. Question is, why shift the blame onto the players now?

  26. AngryArsenalFan says:

Arsene Wenger a fantastic accountant an awful football manager. Arsene, you are the weakest link, goodbye!

  27. BallaBalla says:

Pathetic ratings, you rate Diaby higher than Song and on the same lvl as Kos?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! DUDE 1 of the reason why Kos and Squilacci played bad was because Diaby always left his spot infront of the defense, leaving a hole for the albions.
AND BTW Nasri played like shit until Diaby was taken off and wilshere came on just like the whole Team. playing crap for 70 minutes and then good for 20 minutes gets 8 out of 10 points???

  28. pauly says:

josh phelan <_"PLAY SZCZESNY HE IS OUR BEST" what are you basing that on?

im no fan of almunia but -fabianski and un-tested Scnezy are not valid solutions

we need to go and buy a 30 yr old experienced player

  29. bjohnson says:

YOU ARE A AN ABSOLUTE IDIOT – EVERYBODY KNOWS WENGER TRIED TO BUY A KEEPER IN THE SUMMER. IF CLUBS DO NOT WANT TO SELL, WHAT IS HE SUPPOSED TO DO. EBOUE IS A GOOD PLAYER AND SO IS SONG.

  30. Moses Watasa says:

Aersene Wenger (AW) is not only arrogant. The man is stubbon to the bone-murrow! If most of us here in far-away, Kampala-Uganda realise the current gunners’ squad is shot on ‘steel’ and quality, how come (AW) cannot?! Why for instance is a one Manuel Almunia still masquerading as Arsenal’s number 1? Why doesn’t AW sign a creative midfielder as back-up for Fabregas? Does he expect the mercurial spaniard to play all league and CL matches? What is Nicklas Bendtner still doing at Arsenal? Does thick-skinned AW feel any embarrassment for getting obliterated by Westbrom at the Emirates? Does AW listen to anyone? will his wife kindly remindl him (AW) that the half-a-decade stagnation of Arsenal FC is firmly rooted in his big-headedness?

  31. Andrew Barlow says:

Arsene Wenger is still right for the job, and has been for years, what people don`t understand is Arsene is a scapegoat… he teaches them what they need to know on the training field it is then the Players decision on wether to heed his advice and put it into practice, if they don`t do as he say`s we get another Newcastle 4-4 again… as with all managers they are blamed, you can`t sack a footballer with the wages they demand because you have to pay off thier contacts, managers demand significatly less wages than you average premier league footballer… Arsene has done us right over the years, we have won titles, cups, got to a champions league final, and seen some of the worlds best players play in the Emerites and Highbury…. he is responsible for Fabregas, Henry, Pires, Vieira, Ljungberg, Toure, Campbell, Bergkamp, Cole, and others that are still maturing.
