[Ratings] Same SH#T!!! But we have £56m in the bank

Chelsea 2 – 0 Arsenal

Same old sh#t!!! Loads of pretty football, passing passing passing, miss chances and then BANG! Drogba pops up and scores.

HOW MANY TIMES ARE WE GOING TO REPEAT THIS!!..But yet our manager cant address this?

2 games, 2 defeats now.. But who cares? We make a profit….In Arsene we rust!!

Fabianski : 8/10 (Nothing he could do with the goals! Maybe some decent saves and came for balls into the box very well)
Sagna : 6/10 ( Came across and helped out the CBs well, But the goal came from his side and Cole got the better of him again)
Koscielny : 5/10 (Looked weak vs Drogba and missed a great chance to put us 1-0 up after 2mins )
Squillaci : 5/10  ( VERY poor game. Almost gave Anelka a gift)
Clichy : 6/10 ( Loads of pace going forward, but then he gets confused what to do next)
Diaby : 8/10 (Good game and worked hard, But needs to give the simple ball)
Nasri : 8/10 (Played well, and maybe could have done better with a few chances)
Song : 6/10 (Slow and wasteful with his passing, Won the ball back a few times before giving it right back)
Wilshere : 9/10 ( Our best player today. Worked very hard and used the ball very well)
Arshavin : 7/10 ( Tested Cech with 2 great shoots but gave the ball away 2 many times)
Chamakh : 5/10 ( Never looked like scoring. Started to piss me off with the way he is going down in the box looking for pens all the time)

Rosicky : 7/10 ( Made things happen and always willing to test the keeper)
(Vela & Emmanuel-Thomas) Not enuff time to make an impact

Wenger isn’t good enough??? Why on earth would one say such a nasty things. He has being the backbone behind what is happening to us today. He made us a stable club and I think I can say he made us what we call MODERN ARSENAL.. I understand the clamour of some us for trophy but I think patience runs things and not harsh talk AND UNREALISTIC APPROACH!! GO ASK SHEIKH MANSOUR AND THE PRESIDENT OF R.MADRID OF THE LOS GALATOCS ERA, HOW MUCH THEIR MILLION POUNDS SIGNINGS EARN THEM. ASK CHAVSKI WHAT SHEVY MEAN IN THEIR FOOTBALL DICTIONARY, THEY ARE GONNA TELL YOU IT MEANS ‘WASTE’,’SHAFT’ AND FAILURE.
In my own personal opinion the boys played well today but I need someone to tell SONG to remember he is playing 4 and not 10. He need to start what we know him for, that is cover up his defence and stop opposition attacking flow. Chamakh, should be given enough time to settle in, it is not easy crossing over from France to the rigorous EPL.
For the gunner addicts, keep the faith while the freak gonner-be should get out of our system on here. I REP THE TRUE GUNNER!!!

The club is too well run to end up like Liverpool or Leeds. I don’t see that in our future. Yes we have debt but it is manageable and under control. We live within our means which is good. I repeat, yet again, I don’t advocate running wild on a reckless spending spree.
Buying players doesn’t guarantee us anything – true. BUT constantly not strengthening is guaranteed not to win us anything. It’s the same story every year, we are weak, we play good football but untimely it comes to nothing. And to make matters worse, we let players go and don’t strengthen. (yes we invested in June, but I am not convinced that we got quality, or what we needed).
Had we brought Chamakh in December (or got cover) we may well have won the league. Instead we saved some money to get Chamakh free and didn’t win anything. Wenger wants to do it the hard way. It’s not just fans saying that we need to strengthen, the players say it as well. Even Cesc wants to leave because he wants to win (as did Henry). If rumours are to be believed, Cesc made up his mind to leave last January due to the lack of investment in the team over the winter transfer window.
Money is not the answer WHEN you have team capable of winning, but you need to invest to get that team.

Get off Chamakh case, a striker is only as good as the provider!!! The English, always over rate Wislshere coz his English. Good game all round but we remain a toothless shark!!!

You lot (few as you are) who want Wenger out should go and support chelsea or Man.C.
Call yourselves Arsenal supporters ?… Don’t make me laugh, you obviously have no concept of our history… And when other clubs like Liverpool (one of few other clubs I feel sorry for) go down the drain financially because of paying stupid transfer fees and still not anywhere near the top 4… You’ll grow up and appreciate the way the club is currently run (Ashburton Grove is ALL down to Wenger)
… And as for you ‘arsenal4ever’.. Well, you just need to grow up I guess !

We are not even talking about big investments here. Hleb and Flamini were never replaced, nor were Henry, Toure or Gilberto. So now we are stuck with Denilson, Diaby and Song, not by choice, but because that’s actually the best we have, and saying that makes me sad. Song wouldn’t be a first team regular at any top 5 clubs, Diaby at top 10, and Denilson would struggle to get playing time in premier league. Despite their lack of quality and effort, they still manage tu put in 90+ minuts of football every 3 days. That is beyond me. The only reason those are playing is because there actually are not anyone else at the club. Lansbury is a prospect, but to young, JET is not good enough and Frimpong has joined the rest of the team in the sickbay.

    October 3, 2010 at 9:08 pm

BigL… You say the club is too well run but it is the prudence of running the club the right way that you are basically challenging. Hleb’s transfer fee got us Nasri. We couldn’t replace Flamini directly because Wenger has effectively only had what he raised in transfers to spend and we got no fee for him. And you talk of strengthening but give no figures for how much you imagine that strengthening of the kind that would have made us challengers would actually cost. How much would a player as effective as Flamini was for us have cost… and what would such a player demand in wages? My recollection is that we tried to get Gorkan Inler from Udinese and he wasn’t interested and wanted a get out clause in his contract and we tried for felipe Melo but he wanted to stay in Italy… the rest of players we were chasing were no better or more mature than Denilson or Song!

I’m sorry but people talk as if getting good quality players who are better than what we already have is as easy as picking up a pint of milk from Tesco. Ramirez cost chelsea 18 million and he ain’t all that! Jagelka is supposed to cost 18m, Lescott 22m, milner 25million… even Gyan cost Sunderland 14 million and that’s before you talk about these players wages! And we need players better than all those if we are to challenge… none of those players is significantly better than what we’ve got any way!

I’m sorry but Cesc needs to get his head out of his arse… Wenger took a chance in not signing a mature player when Vieira left and that is the only reason Cesc had the opportunity to play and mature, for him to be asking for signings when he can’t even stay fit enough to do it on the pitch is taking a liberty. The simple fact is that Arsenal cannot afford to sign a bunch of 30m signing plus their wages… and if we can’t do that then we have to stick with wenger’s model and wait for players to mature… it’s that or hand the club over to some Sheikhs or an Oligarch from Russia.

The bottom line for me is that we are not that far off… if we can get someone to sort out this ridiculously persistent and stupid injury crisis that has been running since forever and get our best players on the pitch at same time… then we can see how good we really are and then you can moan with just cause. Right now all I hear is whining after a team that had young JET on the bench went to the home of the champions and played them off the park for loooooong stretches of the match. Losing hurts but losing ones perspective is even worse…

We are really missing a clinical striker in our squad. As much as I hate to admit it we just cannot rely on RVP, he misses too many games and Chamakh is not that type of striker,Chelsea have Drogba, United have Rooney(usually), City have Tevez. For all the possesion we had today I never felt we could score but when Chelsea got the ball they looked like scoring almost every time. In a heartbeat I would trade “wengerball” for chelsea’s direct stlye if it meant we started to win trophies again.

    Well said jacob. Spot on
Needs to be put in to perspective
Injuries are our main issue but obviously I don’t no how we sort that
No team could play chelsea without there spine….tv, cesc, vp and expect to win.
In fact take terry and drogba out as well as lampard and I bet u result would be different
No point makin excuses as we lost and don’t appear strong enuf for the league but let’s put in perspective and there were positives. Long way to go

Dunno why I bother with coming here…..

Its the same after every game…..moan moan moan…..

Who can we buy right now with £200m in the bank…absolutely no one….so why keep harping on about it….we’re stuck with the team we have til January….so save your breath it ain’t gonna make a difference…..

And who says it AWs fault we didn’t buy anyone….maybe it was someone else above him who wouldn’t spend the money…..do you know for a fact what goes on behind them closed doors…you might be putting 2 + 2 and getting 3 for all you know….

So try saying something cheerful and positive for a change….even if it happens only to be “the ice creams sold outside the ground were quite tasty today…”

    October 3, 2010 at 10:44 pm

Nasri : 8/10 (Played well, and maybe could have done better with a few chances)

Totally at fault for the first goal , allowed Cole to go past and centre. Commmon fault in his game doesn’t follow his man. Too many people only see players from an attacking perspective , like Arshavin and Denilson he does not track back.

  13. Max

    October 3, 2010 at 11:47 pm

It’s not Wenger’s fault we have FIVE players that would have started today out injured. Wenger has done more for this club than anyone ever has. You people want to fire him over losing to the best team in the world right now. You lads are crazy for thinking we had a chance to win today anyway with the injuries we have

  14. goonergerry

    October 3, 2010 at 11:57 pm

Can we be honest with ourselves? Or are we going to keep burying our heads in the sand and talking about the balance sheet- which only looks a healthy because we dont strengthen the team. This team did not look like getting behind the Chelsea back four- were not strong enough in midfield and never put Chelsea under any real pressure. This Chelsea are a good team but they are not world beaters. Manchester City can beat them but we cant.
This was not a competitive performance- it was not much better than last seasons showing. In truth we are being beaten comfortably. Basically we are stuck- a level below the top sides and not progressing against them. Our record against these top sides is a real problem- we lose every time we play them. Many of the AKB seem to be happy with this mediocrity- I am not. The answer is that we need stronger players in midfield and better forwards than we have. For once we cant blame this defeat on poor defending. If AW is not to blame who is?

someone put the toys back in the pram. yeah we’re all disappointed but its only 7 games in. we showed that we are technically better than chelsea. we’re not that far away. support the boys, they’ll get there eventually. there is a structure in place because of wenger that means we will continue to be competitive long term. we have a very young team thats growing all the time. we were missing cesc, rvp and vermalaen today. if we had those 2 and chelsea were missing drogba and alex along with lampard do you think they would have beat us today? absolutely not.
we’ve been unlucky with injuries and the way the game panned out. shit happens, stop over-reacting and support your team

  17. Curt

    October 4, 2010 at 1:16 am

Oh yay! We showed we are technically better than Chelsea! Let’s all go home happy men and women, because we showed we can string passes together to at least equal Chelsea at the Bridge. We should all be content.

Unfortunately, they are technically better in the traditional sense of the word, in the way that they defended us until we turned to jelly and then gave us a right spanking.

If you can’t score goals, you can’t win games. Who are our goalscorers? Where are the goals going to come from in a match like this?

Wenger had the formula for the perfect team when he started with Arsenal. What happened to that formula?

    October 4, 2010 at 1:55 am

very well played today, very unlucky it could very well have been so different for us with a little help from lady luck ,we stood up well to there thuggery tactics and we were on top for long periods ,speaking about thugs why wasnt essiens assault on diaby even spoken about on motd,i suppose they get a bit fed up with talking about challenges like that on Arsenal and anyway they say we deserve it .

  19. Ben

    October 4, 2010 at 3:55 am

I don’t know why people keep ignoring the fact that we have so many players injured, how can you expect a second string team to beat Chelsea when they are in full strength yet to mention at their home ground. Tell me I’m moaning or what, but look at Man U, they are drawing games when they have some key players injured, Liverpool can’t score at Gerard & Torres absent. The only position that we might still need to improve is the goalkeeping situation as we knew the team had been working on it during the summer, sadly nothing happened. Other than that can you tell me that drogba lampard terry is a better player than RVP Cesc Verminator? Everyone is trying to find out why we got injured so frequent than the others, but thats it, and I seriously think that currently our bench is the best amongst. If drogba lampard & terry not around, do you really think they can beat us 2-0 with the way we play that night? End of the day, its only the 7th match & 31 matches upcoming.

  20. Matt

    October 4, 2010 at 5:16 am

Hey now common guys….. we didn’t outplay Chelsea, they just let us play the ball around knowing the usual would happen….i.e. they would more than likely hold use out, and that we would leak goals either from set pieces or counter attacks. Lets not be naive about this…. sure we “could” have scored a couple…. but don’t forget the number of 1v1 ‘s that Chelsea missed which on another day they might well have scored and we “could” have lost but 5!!!

Until everyone involved with Arsenal (including akb’s) look and realise that this side is no better or different than last year or the year before, and that we are already seeing the same end result then nothing will improve!!! However, there is a difference this season in that there are more teams capable of getting better results than us, and unless Wenger and the Board wake up from their (“we are always in the top 4 and in the Champions League”) stupor, they will suddenly realise towards the end of the season that we are out of the reaconing for all the big trophies and fighting for a Europa League place at best! We shall then we shall see the exodus of the likes of Fabregas and Van Persie who will want to play for someone who will look to seriously challenge for top honours and not to keep trying to do things on the cheap! All we shall be left with will be the likes of the lumbering Song, Diaby, Eboue, Denilson, Almunia, Fabianski and the ineffective Rosicky, Walcott, Bendtner etc., Please lets see the rot stopped here and now before it is too late either with Arsene or without him (and akb’s realise a manager is not irreplacible…. how long do you give him before his past becomes his Eulogy!!!

Oh and I forgot to ask……….. is Wengers pass, pass, pass possession play REALLY that good to watch??? I used to love it with our sides up to 2004, who broke fast and passed quickly but effectively …. in fact most of the time it was excting because there were very few passes!! The europlay football is something I find tedious, lets get back to the more positive style of play with a solid backline and lightning fast attack! Possession play does not win you games and trophies….. we have had this proven to us on sooooo many occasions!

    You lot…always crying.

5 starters out. Played the champions even at their park. They finished their chances, we didn’t. Not the first time or the last we’ll see this. Happens to every team. Even the Invincibles couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn some days. Have a beer, relax and get your knob polished by your woman.

  23. Gunner fan

    October 4, 2010 at 6:45 am

The problem is as Koeman pointed out:too much passing until god knows where/when it will end.To compound the problem,Wenger doesn’t want/like to win ugly.Yes Arsenal have technical players.Chelsea have brawny players. In my view there is an overabundance of innovative/creative players. Arsenal must have the destroyer type of guy who breaks up the oppposition attack someone like Veira. This player must be big and intimidating.
You can’t aslk the creative player to undertake the destroyer mission. It will be difficult.I just saw the inter juventus game. They just cancel each other out. Perhaps Wenger should let his ego take a back seat and play like this.
This latest defeat is a wake up call.It shows either the players or the tactics are at fault or both.So don’t Fe for trying to leave if at the end of the season the gunners have won nothing. Blame Wenger.

  25. Alex

    October 4, 2010 at 8:57 am

The invicibles are gone, and were never replaced. Lehman was a good GK, and he drove away alughing at Almunia, who now happends to be our main mistake maker, yet start between the sticks game after game. Adams nad Keown were never replaced. Their determination and winning mentalilty were an example for any player. There are noone in the squad mentally that doninating in defence. Ashley Cole, as much hated as he is, is one of the best left backs in the world. Better than Clichy in defence, and there is even no comaparison of them in offence, as Cole is far more superioir than the frenchman. Vieira is replaced by Song. Again, two different worlds when it comes to mentality. Gilberto did that job well, but when he was replaced with an adaquate frenchman, he left. And so did the frenchman (Flamini). In my opinion, Gilberto is better than Flamini, and Flamini is better than Song. So in that sense, we are getring worse and worsen. Kolo Toure was also never replaced. There is noone that strong or quick in defence anymore. Henry was never replaced, and Bergkamp replacement (van Persie) spents all his time chatting up nurses in Arsenal sick bay.

So far, the player stack has been fast regressing in quality. Players like Walcott, Arshavin, Song, Diaby, Denilson, Koscielny, Squillaci, Clichy, Bendtner, Vela just don’t have the winning mentality. They are all in it either for the money or the glory. Non of them are actually in it for the team spirit or just for the good sense of team football. All selfish and lazy, overpaid, overrated and immature

  26. frankie frankie

    October 4, 2010 at 10:55 am

Clichy and Sagna have got to be 2 of the worst attcking full backs ever. they can’t cross, can’t shoot and don’t add any attacking qualities what so ever.

We lacked a killer touch yesturday that was all. with van p, fabrgas and wallcott soon to come back (i hope) we shouldn’t have too many problems putting the ball into the back of the net. but the team has to be stronger and not be pushed around so easily. the centre backs had a look in their eyes like drogba had just raped them. and song needs to decided what kind of player he is. a holding player who just sits infront of the centre backs providing cover, yes. an attcking player who likes to get forward, no.

there are too many players who are just not suited to the team and dont know what position they should play. song, diaby. denilson, vela, arshavin, rosicky and as far as i’m concered sagna and clichy should be sold.

I’m tired of wenger and his stupid team managment! everyone seems to be able to see the obvious things that need changing except him. So we just F****** plod along playing beautiful football and losing stupid games where we have 60-70 percent possession. Couldn’t every one of u not see that we were not coming back in that game unless something was changed? Blatantly obvious! so what does wenger do? yes same thing wenger always does, wait until it too late! That’s why i give Ferguson him props, he would have made 2/3 subs on 60 min not wait until the 80th.

Wenger needs to go up to the boardroom, maybe take over with transfers or something! we need a manager who will make the difficult decisions, like take off Ashavin when he’s playing sh*t, play JET upfront, play counter attack football or just have a plan b, stop slowing down play allowing 10 men to get behind the ball wtf We need to be able to play direct sometimes it’s not f***** hard.

Arsenal for all their great possesion skills and techiqual ability have no spine in there team. Where was song that whole game? Upfront tackling their CB’S! Why? because he doesn’t undertsand his job in the team and i think he doesn’t undertsand english either… I love chamack and RVP but they are not recongised finshers one is hold up player and the other can make thing out of nothing! We have no finsiher in the team! And what happens when chamck gets injuried? No more stirkers for arsenal but we do have 56 million in the bank, whihc is our profit remember! Most these clubs that say we have 30 million to spend mean that the bank will lend them 30 million! Fabianski played well and i would rather have him in goal then alumnia but we need a keeper and another CB and another DM and another stiker! And don’t start saying go support man city you money hungry guy, its not anout spending millions of pounds we could get players on loan or spend little amounts just get players who can cover! I am not in the arsene knows brigade. i think he makes mistakes with tactics and team selections but how many better managers are out there. We are where we are because of him. I’m not saying he’s untouchable but people calling for his head 7 games into the season is ridiculous. we’re not fucking totttenham. I wish he had signed a keeper but he didnt. We’re stuck with what we’ve got, stop with the fucking bitching and get behind them

Sorry Chief Gooner but you are mistaken. As someone mentioned previously, Arsenal are regressing in quality owing to a lack of investment. It’s what happens when you lack ambition.

George set foundations for Wenger to strive and now he needs to leave for someone else to take advantage of the foundations he has set.

People harp on about injuries but they are a part of the game. Great clubs deal with them. Arsenal just moan about them.

    It’s getting boring.

@ cheif gooner maybe i was overreacting with the swearing okay, but how can anyone get behind wenger or this team? we domainated chelsea and we lost by two goals! We never looked like scoring even though we had 7 or so shots on goal! Are players won’t play like this the whole season trust me and the players are qualified to play for us! Do you really think song, denilson, alumina, clichy, diaby and others should play for us? I do support this team only for the history! For people like tony adams and martin kewon and the wonderful mr bergkemp but this group of players along with our to defence policy is ludacris! Its getting harder and harder to the support the same old arsenal win a game lose 3… its not fair to the life long supports… i was 5 when we won the PL first in 1997-1998 its ridicilous what we have come to! None of our players can even speak english!!!! Its disgusting! ( sorry for earlier commet even though the premise was right)

  34. Chief Gooner

    October 4, 2010 at 5:46 pm

I was 18 when we won the double in 98. so i experienced supporting arsenal for 13 or 14 years before wenger arrived. The club we have now is barely recognisable to before then and in a good way. We’ve got an unreal stadium, the best training facilities in europe and play beautiful football. Also the club is in a really stable position financially. Before wenger arrived we had 2 championships in 26 seasons. we played the most boring football you can imagine. Even spurs played better football than us. You want to go back to that?
I understand people being frustrated because i feel the exact same way. We’ve got the money and there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to make the 2-3 signings we need. I get that and i agree but people are going over the top reacting to yesterday.
I was more angry at the result against west brom because there was no effort there. What pisses me off is players is i think have the talent, just not the desire or the determination.
As for yesterday i thought we played quite well and with a bit of luck we would have won. But losing 2-0 away to chelsea who are the champions is not a disaster. Annoying because they beat us so often but not a disaster.
We’ve got gibbs, wilshere and jay thomas coming through getting a chance now. we’ve got walcott too. there’s 4 english players there for you.
We also now have to compete with billionaire clubs like chelsea and man city. I know we all want trophies but because of the work wenger has done we are going to be up there competing for a very long time. What would happen to city and chelsea if their owners get bored and pull out. Look at the state liverpool are in and united aren’t too far behind. you want to be like that?

  35. okplayer

    October 4, 2010 at 5:56 pm

are blaming injuries again? What will be next for the AKBs of this world. Our injuries is a result of our training regime. Our players run 10k on average more a week than any other side in the premiership. Our injury record the past couple of seasons should be enough to sack AW – it is unacceptable.

But a very convenient excuse for him and his supporters. It’s not like we would have won with a fully fit team either. Lack of leadership and communications has been a problem with these new players. They look like strangers when they play with eachother.

@ cheif gonner exaclty we have JET, eastmond, henri landsbury ( who is amazing), gibbs and whilshere! So why do we play these foregin players who have no heart for the club? Palyers like song, densilson and clichy? I’m not going as far to say wenger is a racist but he atleast borderline! Yes you say that about liverpool but when have arsenal ever spent big? I like that about arsenal as well, i don’t want us to spend 25 million on james milner or robinio i just want us to have some heart in this sqaud. I guess the WB result was bad but i have to say this result is worse for pur reputation as a big 4 club! Jose M doesn’t even think we are a top 4 club, and he and alex ferguson are the only managers i listen too! This season will defie us for the rest of our history and wenger just doesn’t seem to care… Losing 2-0 to any club that you domianted is embrassing and disgusting, even if they are chelsea.. We lost to WB thanks to 2 mistakes from Alumnia and we lost 2-0 with hardly anything done wrong to chelsea… I guess its another trophie-less season for us… I hope i’m wrong… but what every fan moaning or not has to understand is, this season there are no more excuses, no we had injuried players or were young, nothing no more.

Foreigners with no heart?? Are all Arsenal fans this xenophobic and stupid or is there something in the water at the Grove these days? How many English players did Chelsea have on the pitch yesterday? How many of their goals were scored by English players? What did England and their so-called heart achieve at the world Cup? Some posts are so stupid that you have to wonder whether the writer has the intelligence to sit the right way on a loo…

I’m sorry to say but sometimes I just wish that Arsene Wenger would up sticks and go to Paris St Germain or Bayern Munich where he’d be properly appreciated… he is absolutely wasted on Arsenal and some of their moronic fans. Arsenal have spent a fraction of what Chelsea and ManU and Liverpool have spent in the past 5 years… and when I say a fraction I mean a 1/10th of what Chelsea and ManU have spent on transfers… we have spent less than Villa, Newcastle and Spurs yet these fools demand trophies as if they have a god given right to spend less and win more! What a bunch dumb, dim, stupid, ungrateful and unintelligent scrotes.

I seriously want Wenger to go so that these fools and their stupid blogs can finally see what our kind of spending actually gets you in the hands of even an exceptional manager. Benitez has all but ruined Liverpool… all that spending and where did it get them?… and we have muppets who think that Arsenal is Real madrid demanding… efffing demanding trophies! Because the man is working magic you assume that what you are seeing is normal? How amny of you get a 1/10th of the resources and acieve the same as some who has 10 times as much?… These fools forget that 2 seasons before Wenger arrived we actually finished 12th in the league! TWELFTH!… Idiots.

Let me apologise for the rudeness of my last post …. but all this stupid whining is doing my head in. We lost to Chelsea away from home without a whole load of key players… And it’s tragedy for some! Give me strength.

I think Wenger needs to look carefully at the squad and identify those players who he can rely on week in and week out. It will be painfull for some on here to read this but for the club to progress and to maintain consistency i.e. the same players playing alongside each other week in week out with the same level of performance you are going to have to replace certain players at Arsenal and for me Arshavin, Diaby, Denilson, Clichy, Sagna and Bendtner are far too inconsistent and Van Persie is far too injury prone to offer anything worthwhile therefore I would, over time look to sell all of these players and invest in players who can offer consistency – thats half the problem with the club and its supporters they put loyalty before the welfare of the club. I ask you would the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid put up with the performances of Arshavin and Denilson ? or would they allow Van Persie to spend month after month on the treatment table picking up £70k a week ? I think not ! No team wins anything by carrying stragglers…

Like it or not Chelsea are one of the powerhouses of European football. They did the double last year and they’ll be one of the favourites for CL this year.

We didn’t get bashed up. Though it was sadly predictable that they beat us but they’ll beat most teams they encounter this season.

Our time will come again. Real supporters appreciate that. Hysterical ones don’t.
