[Ratings] Sorry Arsene but you only have yourself to blame…

Back to back defeats… And now we have lost to 2 of the 3 promoted teams at HOME!!

So whats the problem?… Well if you want to point the finger at somebody you need to take a long hard look at our Manager.

The man who HAS money to spend and has refused time and time again. The man who cares more about making a profit then winning things. The man who puts his own agenda, ego and principles ahead of whats best for the team.

At the end of LAST season what did every Arsenal fan call for?

A new keeper and a powerful CB and a Drogba type striker… Well Wenger pushed the boat out and signed a CB for over £8m on unknown Koscielny. The same amount of money that spurs signed Van DerVart who has turned out to be worse then Senderos. Today we saw Koscielny receive his 2nd red card of the season, just like the Blackburn game he dived in and got done for pace by a striker when he didn’t need to. People might say its only his first season in English football? Well what about Vermaelen? It was his first season last year and look at the impact he had.

Chamahk isnt a natural finisher, today we AGAIN saw his lack of killer instinct when he was put thro on the age of the box and went for a pass. He is a striker, the only thing that should be going thro his head is hitting the back of the net. But the lad hasn’t got the power in his boots to do so.

And as for Fabianski, I’m not going to be 2 hard on the lad because he has done very well in recent games. But he is being asked to come for crosses because we don’t have that powerful CB and he is very weak at doing so. Great shot stopper, But he cant come for crosses and asking him to do so is wrong. The CB should be dealing with that.

So in everything that Wenger did over the summer he has been proved wrong. His signings have been poor, His decision not to sign a GK was wrong, His current 4-5-1 tactics he is sticking to is wrong.

Full credit to Newcastle today. They came and played 4-4-2 and had the guts to have a go and it paid off.

Sorry Arsene but you only have yourself to blame…

Arsenal Ratings

Sack Arsene Wenger immediately thats the only justice appropriate for him. For red card I won’t blame much to Koscliny, I don’t think, he had much choice.

We can forget EPL and CL for this year. I will again say money was never an issue.

In todays world with his present record he will be most likely sacked from clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and I consider that to be correct decision and so be it here.

I dont know why we always seem to praise Wilshere. Is it becos he is English? He has the tendency for lacking positional ability. The free kick. He shd has assisted Sagna but did not and that brought the foul and the goal. He is not a natural defensive midfielder. We have conceded less goals when he did not play. I think Denilson,Fabrigas/Rosicky and Nasri in the middle are better

I do not think we should endanger the economy by buying everything out there. We have quality in the squad. I think we are lazy on the pitch. Everyone has an attitude that everything will be all right. Seems to me that we should learn sometime, but we don´t. As for Wilshere, he got tired in the second half and I do not think the change was wrong.

Got that about right. Cesc was terrible today either he isn’t fit or something was seriously wrong in his head as i’ve never seen such a bad performance. I am also a bit worried about our striker options, Chamakh may have got a few goals this season and battled by himself upfront most of the time but i just cannot see him getting us enough goals and we know we desperately need a 20+ striker.

This will be our hardest season for many years and Wenger should have splashed the cash we know we have.

p.s. Kosielny should not have received a red he hardly touched the guy but does dive in a bit quick on occasions.

yeah thats a great idea lets sack him cz thats gonna fix everything and we shd win the league. FFS IT WAS A BAD PERFORMANCE HOW IS SACKING THE MANAGER GOING TO HELP?

yeah chamakh has been a terrible signing, only 6 goals, 6 pens won and about 4 or 5 assists, what a disgrace!

    Astonishingly clever comment.
    ‘Endanger the Economy’
The ironic thing is is you have the same attitude as you are accusing the players of having.Everything will sort out.
At what point do you realize not with this crew and AW at the helm.We have a decent bunch but not really world beaters meanwhile the club is taking the supporters to the cleaners. Our financial position isn’t being reflected on the pitch where it matters most.
    Clueless mate,you really are silly

Wenger picked a great team today. But if the players don’t pull their finger out – Cesc was shocking – then what exactly can he do? Get over yourselves about Wenger. This team is good enough to win EVERYTHING.

i dont understand you at all. whenever Arsenal play well you heap praise on him, but when one of the players, not him, makes a mistake that costs us, somehow thats his fault? Wenger can only control the tactics, strategy, thats the whole reason we have managers in football. Once the players enter that pitch theres nothing more, in terms of effort and performance from the players, that a manager can control. too often this site blames wenger for the team failing to play to its full potential. and i know youre probably going to say “well if the players arent playing to their full potential then its the managers fault, right?” the simple answer is no. i’ve been coaching highschool and college soccer here in the States for the past 20 years, and before that i was college player myself. take it from me no matter how tactically prepared you might get a team once the whistle blows its up to the players to execute them they way you want them to. if the players are up to then they will, if theyre not, then youre in for a long day

    For – Farfararsenalforever,

The way sacking of Ricard brings glory to Barcelona. The introduction of anceloti for Chelsea. Mourinho for RM who brings new energy to RM. Look at Torres just now ( 2 prolific goal ), and Wenger brings a leftover called Chamakah. Thats enough for Wenger’s sacking.

  13. Joe

    November 7, 2010 at 4:57 pm

Always backed Wenger before but not today and not anymore, sorry but the Keeper cannot catch crosses and without that we probably would have won. If you put in Szzesny and he’s sh*t then fair enough, maybe we’ll have a dip about fabianski being a poor signing but to sit with a better keeper on the bench and potentially let him leave on a free…you’ve got an over paid squad that has won nothing and stops us buying to better it…for me…Wenger out.

  14. EireGooner

    November 7, 2010 at 5:03 pm

The truth is, we are in need of maybe just 2 top players to be challenging.
The time has come for spending some money.
We have understood the financial constraints, and have been very patient.
But when the team is making the same mistakes over and over, you just wonder how. If our team is young, and filled with quality, its not unreasonable to expect improvement every season.
But until we have a top quality keeper and a striker who doesnt get injured and scores naturally, we will be found wanting.
No need for all doom and gloom, and we dont need that much, but will AW spend the 40M or so it would take?
Thats what worries me the most.

Not Wenger’s fault it was fucking Fabregas! God knows how many times he misplaced a pass that fucked up a goal scoring chance. Get him out f here he obviously doesn’t give a shit it we win or not, he’s just thinking about Barcelona.

    November 7, 2010 at 5:31 pm

You got some right, but some wrong here.
Wilshere was poor. Was overpowered in midfield and misplaced a lot of passes.
He was at least feisty, unlike the others.
Replace Sagma with Eboue!!! Clearly you didn’t watch in midweek when Eboue was even poorer than Clichy defensively.
Sagna and Arshavin were our only decent players today.
You’re right about a CB whose taller than 6″ and a decent keeper.
But Wenger, genius that he is, has become too stubborn to invest in quality players who are ready now, not in a few years time.

Greg, you made some points, but Wenger is still the problem of this club, yes he did fantastic job in Arsenal, but his ignorant and his unreasonably obstinate is causing us so badly. Althought we have the squad, but we still lack the steam, we need striker like Drogba, Torres. Hope you guys watched Chelsea and Liverpool tonight, that is what arsenal lack at the moment.

More also, we need CD at least two more, tall and powerful CD, all the arsenal defenders are two small, men what is he thinking for God sake, is he blind or stupid, for me i don’t like Wenger and i will never will, i said this last year, and i will say it again, unless he replace all the sluggard players like BENDTNER, DJOURU OR WHAT EVER HIS NAME IS, VELA, AND SOME players i couldn’t mentions here, and replace them with top players we would win nothing.

Look at this guy from Belgium LUKAKU, that is type of striker we need, but Wenger wouldn’t buy him why i don’t know, so Greg, Wenger is to blame, ho ha.

  24. lewis winsper

    November 7, 2010 at 8:45 pm

The first half today was possibly the dullest 45 minutes i have seen in about 10 years. The team still has no plan B, with our north london neighbours breathing down our necks we need to make some signings.

  25. Yusaf

    November 7, 2010 at 9:57 pm

wtf am i reading? we win games and we go round saying how good our defence is and boasting we dont need a new keeper. then suddenly, we lose a game (include the midweek one if you want to) and you say everyone needs to be replaced and are too shit to play for the team. what kind of fans do you call yourselves? as much as i hate tottenham, do you ever hear dirty spuds fans complain about their manager (or players) when they lose? yes we’ve had a bad week, that doesnt mean you start verbally tormenting the manager and players. fucking get behind them and act like proper fans and stop acting like little whinging children for gods sake. honestly!! its embarrassing to say that i belong to supporters of such ignorance who do nothing but criticise their team. as disappointing as the performance was from the WHOLE team, why are we acting like we’ve just got relegated from division 8? every team had bad days/ weeks and all this is natural and common in everyday life. you just need to face it like real men and move on. chin up!!

    November 7, 2010 at 10:21 pm

The problem i see in the squad is arrogance and lack of balls from our manager

fergie would NEVER players just canter around the pitch, lose passes, horrible touches and basically no interest in playing. Cesc deserved to be off after 50mins tops!!

another game where we needed to stand up and be counted and another FAILURE to do so. in 13 years wenger hasnt found a plan b, so big, solid, well marshalled defensive teams who have the ability to knick a goal on set pieces will ALWAYS turn us over.

Im not saying sack him, but maybe our american “GM” can repeat himself, he did say even wengers job is on the line (YEAH RIGHT)

    November 7, 2010 at 10:50 pm

Yural Maskey is the only one with a good point. It’s the tactics that need to change. All these players are single minded because they are trained to play ‘the arsenal way’, and they have no variety in their style, like, say, Chelsea do.

Change the tactics, change the formation, maybe make one or two smart signings in areas where we have a deficiency.

But we have a strong squad. We have top calss guys sitting on the bench.

  29. Andrew

    November 8, 2010 at 12:18 am

Ask yourself this question….do you seriously think this team is capable of winning the EPL this season? I would love to say yes. I look for indications during every game…a glimmer of hope that we could win it this season. But deep down I know its not going to happen. we’re don’t want it bad enough. I think Diaby summed it up this week when he mentioned something about us always finishing in the top 4 and playing CL football every season.

    November 8, 2010 at 12:44 am

We have to keep a bit of perspective about the result, but i do have many concerns. The main concern is the mentality this team has when it faces adversity. A true test of the teams title credentials is not when its winning 4-0, its when its losing 1-0 and has to come back. To this point, i’ve been extremely unhappy with the attitude of some players when we’re losing. Our inability to see out the Sunderland game with tactical indiscipline, tactical indiscipline against Chelsea. Against Westbrom the defense stopped trying, to the point we were 3-0 down at home. Nasri (the heart of our team) almost pulled it out the bag himself but we were again left to rue tactical indiscipline. After the game turned against us to Shakhtar midweek, we dind’t offer much of anything the entire second half, and now today we go down- and again we offered little to nothing in the final third the entire second half. That tells me the leadership is again lacking in the squad.
You can maybe look at Wenger’s transfer policy, we’ve always been for the last 5years a top class keeper and defender and physical centre forward away, and we’ve never been able to land one remarkably.
But on the other side of the coin, Wenger has built a squad which is possibly the strongest in the entire premier league, we have so much depth in attacking options its amazing and he continues to develop worldclass talent. And i still feel confident this team will land a trophy this season. But i highly doubt it will be the premiership, this team is too indisciplined tactically, get too carried away with themselves when things go well, and fall apart too much when things go badly. It all comes down to a lack of on-field leadership despite our talent.

i think arsenes main problem is that he doesnt know his best starting 11,where was rosicky ,why wasnt he played ?why did he have arshavin on the bench for so long ,i dare say if he was brought on when things wernt going for us in the first half it would have been a different outcome ,i dont think walcott deserves to start every game yet ,hes still a lot to learn, same to young jack ,hes gonna be great but starting over rosicky and arshavin wtf?hes to young ,bring him on when we are 2up to gain experience , in a nutshell WE WERE SHIT TODAY with that starting 11!

For me the key issue is most of the Arsenal players don’t show the same hunger and desire on the pitch ManU or Chelsea. Yesterday the subs were all crazy. How Cesc was left on the pitch I don’t know. Bendtner should have replaced Chamakh and not RVP. Why was Wilshere taken off? What was Theo doing other than the shot? He should be used more like an impact player. Sorry to say we were poor, very poor. My frustration levels are at its peak.

    November 8, 2010 at 5:34 am

guys, so whats the reason for chelsea losing?….their manager did not splash money in the transfer market?..whats the explanation.if there is a day that wenger put out a strong squad was today.but the players just let him down.he did not tell fabregas to misplace passes, did he?..our most important and best midfielder in EPL let us down.dont mention the manager in this guys.he played his part

  35. Nictan

    November 8, 2010 at 5:54 am

Agree with Curt and Yural. Its frustrating that Wenger seems to recognise our team’s flaw but wonder if he will ever do something. When will he ever bench those that are not performing, change the tactics, instill a winning mentality and never say die attitude.

  36. Ezra

    November 8, 2010 at 7:13 am

Truth be told we need Denilson and Bendtner more than we need Song and Chamakha. When we played Denilson Wilshere seemed to go forward with ease while every time Song forces him to be defensive and yet he is a better creater, crosser and passer of the ball than Song. Songs intergration of attacking play and defensive is costing us the midfield battle leaving us slow to counter with his many touches and his poor passing of the ball. He is now aliablity that flatters to decieve!

  37. TA6

    November 8, 2010 at 9:15 am

    the problems;
    1. against shakhtar Wenger was very arrogant and complacent, but above all else bottled the game. he didnt fancy it, so played a team to basically lose. that killed any kind of winning momentum we had built up. it was a big game at a tough ground, and our team should have said “we fancy going there and being first team to win in 2 years”. but we bottled it. end of.
    2. as a result of lack of winning mentality, we approached newcastle game with players who had been rested midweek. they now think, we are the players who are too good to play in those “horrible, tough away games where teams get stuck into you”. they become protected little darlings who dont want to tackle or get stuck in. i agree with your ratings, Wilshire was head and shoulders our best player, flying into tackles against all the Newcastle big lads. song our defensive midfielder was nowhere to be seen, he seems to be suffering from “Diaby-itis” thinking he is Pele. and Cesc …. awful. cant be too harsh as is his first stinker in nearly 300 games. but he was dreadful. he should have been taken off, not JW19. Jack was driving us on, he was the leader.
    3. we dont play 4-5-1, we play 4-3-3, which means the 2 wide men are not expected to come back, so a team with brains will attack down our flanks at will, as our full backs have no protection. central midfielders should cover the wingers, especially Song, but he is far too busy trying to be Bergkamp.
    4. Wenger seems to develop this notion that certain players are un-droppable. Cesc should not start against wolves. he is clearly not fit, i would rather see a young energetic Lansbury out there busting a gut alongside his mate Wilshire. if song sits behind them, could be ok. not ideal, but at least there will be no shirking of responsibilities. start to play Szczesny. he is confident and quite clearly slighty insane. perfect for a keeper. he is big and believes in himself. Almunia and Fabianski look like dead men walking. i do not want to see Diaby in our starting XI ever again. Ramsey cant come back soon enough.
    5. Wenger did try to change it by playing long balls. but as we obviously dont work on that in training, as that style is seemingly below Wenger, it wont work. there is an art to hitting a long ball onto a hold up strikers head to set up a goal , see Boltons 4th against Tottnham.
    6. Wenger got it wrong on all sides over past 2 games.
not particularly looking forward to trip to Molineux

What a load of twadle, it was a bad day at the office, Arsenal were all over Newcastle, just could not get the ball in the net, the Kossa sending off was caused by everyone up trying to get the equaliser as what happened to Spurs at Bolton, still think the gunners are great to watch.

    November 8, 2010 at 12:14 pm

I think we should be satisfied with carling cup and a top 4 finish this year. Rest are impossible. This squad is not enough for the Premier league and CL. We need players who can score goals with their individual ability, a keeper we can win us game and a world class Central defender.

    November 8, 2010 at 12:17 pm

i have read and seen all the above comments , but only one fan watched the game + me , And that is Mr Ezra . The only reason why we lost was because of song and his manager of not talking or giving him instruction . Song let Wil to be our defeinsive midfilder for about 68 minutes . And when you have a look at all newcastle players they weigh 75kg + they were all physically strong players where by Wil couldint manages them , and if you realy watched the game , song and Sagna made alot of tacles whenever they ware traying to come and covverup for this Lad (Wil)

The sad fact is Wenger can not take the team forward, I said three years ago we would never win anything else under Wenger, and now his shagging around puts him at the same level as Rooney or Terry he has brought the club into disrepute, he is a liar, cheat and a hypocrite, I have been a st holder for 20 years and I struggle to go and watch Arsenal, I let my son go instead, everyone par Wenger knows what our defensive problems are, we have allowed him to get too big at Arsenal, he is not the man for us anymore, thank you for your services of which you have been paid a great deal of money, there will be loads of applicants for the job at Arsenal. Wenger has brought shame to the club with his affair he harps on about others but does exactly the same. We need to spend the rest of the season looking for his replacement, we do have a great team but Wenger’s insane policy of attack, attack, attack with no defence is killing us, no plan b. Sorry Wenger six years is long enough and you have failed with your ethos, your biggest crime was breaking up the invincibles and never replacing them

  45. Wenger Re-think

    November 8, 2010 at 4:52 pm

Please enough of the comparisons with Wenger and Redknapp. Harry or Tottenham dunt get critized because they have made progress. Champions league qualification and a more recent shout for a top-four position is enough to give Harry the leeway needed and a lack thereof for Monsieur Wenger. What hav we achieved in hal a decade. A luxury stadium. Sounds like a certain Monsieur needs an award by an educational body and no longer the field of play for which his primary role is needed.

Saying this loss is down to not spending is lazy jouranalism.

We were world beaters when we beat City and now we cannot win anything.

The players just need a kick in the backside and thats what Wenger should do.

Seriously, for the last 20 minutes the team kept playing these ridiculous long balls.

Wenger made horrible subs and left Cesc on for what I dont know. I would say that Cesc was the biggest reason why we lost for our play kep breaking down with his errant passes.

bjohnson, stop talking bulls, Walcott is a lovely player.
