[Ratings] Woeful Arsenal, Wenger is clueless!

Man Utd 1-0 Arsenal

Park Ji-Sung 41

So what did Wenger blame this poor show on? …. Yes the pitch!! Wenger told Skysports news after the game that we were unlucky not to win and the pitch was to blame!!!

What is this bloke on about? I could only remember us testing VDS with ONE shot on target in 90mins? How is that unlucky?

Wenger always comes out and blames something? the pitch, the ref, the international breaks, the fact we play on a Monday and didn’t have enough rest etc etc.

Maybe Arsene you need to stop and look at yourself!!

The players YOU have put together dont have the heart to win the title. Last season we blew it and this season again we are not taking advantage of other teams mistakes and we are just giving up without a fight.

Wenger refuses to accept that he is wrong! YES Arsene we needed quality players in the summer and you didn’t sign them. And when you did sign players they didn’t make us any better..You have replaced good players with average players on the cheap and you only have yourself to blame.

We don’t have a proper leader on the pitch! Wenger gives the armband around from player to player as if a cheap whore. Where is our Vieira/Adams?

Wenger is under NO pressure to win trophies. His job is to keep the books in order & qualify for the Champions League. Arsenal has nothing to do with trophies and everything to do with accounting now.

Ratings
Szczesny : 8/10 [ Thrown in at the deep end and to his credit the 20 year old did very well, 2 fine saves ]
Sagna : 6/10 [ Same old sagna, cant cross a sodding ball. But tided at the back “apparently” ]
Koscielny : 7/10 [ Played the 1 striker well, showed decent pace ]
Squillaci : 6/10 [ Didnt have the best of games. Again ]
Clichy : 4/10 [ Simple Gael aka empty head.. Works hard and gives it away ]
Rosicky : 5/10 [ Poor show again. Gives us nothing. Walcott needs to start ahead of him ]
Nasri : 6/10 [ Wasted out wide. Should have started in the middle in the Cesc role ]
Song : 5/10 [ Slow, poor passing and gives away cheap freekicks… Same all season ]
Wilshere : 6/10 [ Decent game but can this lad pull the trigger? Just outside the box and always looks for the pass ]
Arshavin : 4/10 [ Piss poor yet again, Needs to be benched if Wenger has the balls. 1 good game in 10 ]
Chamakh : 3/10 [ Gave us nothing and wasted our best chance. Would like to see RVP or Nic start ahead of him now ]

Subs
(Fabregas 64min) 4/10 [ Came on and gave the ball away 10 times ]
(Van Persie 64min) 6/10 [ Needs to start games ]
(Walcott 77min) 7/10 [ Came on and gave us much needed pace ]

    Completely agree.
Why not play indeed Nasri in the middle?
Why take off Wilshere and Leave Chamakh on? (Am I the only person who thinks he’s worse than Adebarnwhore?!)
Why start with Rosicknote and not Theo?
How on earth were we not psyched up for this game?
What’s going on with Bendtner? Why won’t AW play him??
Anyway, Chesney played a blinder, bye bye Manuel and get used to the bench Lukasz.

Im not convinced? Szczency made a good save but that doesnt mean he had a good game. He was mildly at fault for the first goal for being too far off his line… he was out of position again in the second half and almost got chipped, and his distribution was extremely poor. Clichy shut down Nani well tonight for the most part… second half he did give it away but he was better than he was most other games. I have no idea how you have rated walcott so highly, he touched the ball twice, and once he dribbled it off his own leg and then kicked it out of bounds. Van persie isnt match fit and neither is Fabregas, but Wenger has got to play his best players at the moment and thats what he is doing. Song? Played well i thought — saved us on numerous occassions? Were we watch the same game? Everyones distribution and passing was poor tonight… we gave the ball away too much coming out of the back, were unable to retain possession, and didnt pass the ball creatively enough. But we playes with heart and enthusiasm, which is a step up from alot of other games.

You know it’s fated that the Chavs will beat us.
Last Chav win- Arsenal and no doubt next Chav win- Arsenal.
Don’t be shocked if Fat Frank scores the winning goal…
I for one hope AW doesn’t go, but I really don’t see what Pat Rice brings to the table.
We need a motivator. We need a hard character.

A bit over critical, it was not a bad performance, not brilliant, but just OK!

Our defenders stood up, I believe the Bear made a good call, Szczesny will be BIG for Arsenal. We need a player like Lukaku for games like these, a striker that will terrorise the opponents defence.

They were excellent in defence and better than us in midfield, at least until rosicky and arshavin went off. Disappointing obviously but let’s stay there or thereabouts till the business end of the season before we flush perspective totally down the toilet.

Chesser, great talent unlucky with the goal 8,Kozzer did ok but nothing fancy 6,Squid constantly dragged out of possesion by manure 5,Sicknote,a horrible performance from him no ambition,no heart ,no desire just prancing aroung like his supermodel girlfriend not a player for such an occasion, weak in spirit and mind 2,Jacky boy, totally overrun in midfield tried his hardest and showed something the rest didnt, desire 7,Song,big,big disappointment for a hardman he is slow as a turtle and loses far to many crucial tackles 3,Arshavin,poor,poor,poor 2,Nasri,where left with to much to do 4,Chamakh,almost didnt get a kick and almost scored not his fault but his managers 5,Clichy,overrun and overcommited typically clichy 3,Sagna,did ok defensively but his crossing is at best very poor 5,Cesc,want to be at sunny Barca and who can blame him 1,Robin wants to be at sunny Madrid and who can blame him 1.Wenger,the major culprit, got his tactics wrong again, sideways passing is not going to unluck manure and slow passing through the channels arent either lacks major game gameplan, toatally out of his debt tactically, 0.

I don’t know why we dare to criticise the great man…he runs the club like a dictatorship and no one , NO ONE is allowed to question him… The day will come when he walks away and will leave no sort of legacy (which he inherited with a proper back four and goalkeeper) just a pile of dead wood on ridiculous money based on years of under achievement.. oh yes Arsene knows all right..
The defeat against our so called rivals tonight (I find it staggering we are even classed as a rival to them, 5 defeats before xmas should mean a battle for a Europa cup place and tells us more about the poor standard of the pl this season) means 12 out of the last 14 have been lost, blimey we have even taken to losing to our nearest and dearest as well (2 on the spin there) when is Wenger going to offer us something different? You knew what Fergie was going to do, he rolls out average players like Fletcher and Park to get in our faces , has been doing the same for years and still Wenger cannot come up with anything to surprise ol red nose.. Arsene stopped knowing years ago and if the club are unwilling to accept then what is going to change? The answer is Nothing, because Wenger for sure won’t, arrogance and stubborness beyond belief…

Now Wenger blames the pitch. When will it ever stop? The buck stops with him. While he is busy assembling the wc kids ,the red faced goes about the business of gearing for the present and winning.Don’t get me wrong. The red faced plays to win and doesn’t want to weave pretty eye pleasing patterns. If he can combine pretty soccer with winning he would have done so ages ago.
I’m afraid tactically Wenger is a distant number 2. He still plays the same way, passing the ball until they reach the box. Here they are confronted by a apacked defence as mean as it can ever get.
The result is a no brainer.
The gunners with nasri may be able to bewith the Fulham defenders, Confronted by a wc defence they are at their wits end and the result is too familiar tale.
Next stop Chelsea with their ageing legs.Another defeat will really tell Wenger his tactics and guys are not up to the job. What then?Tear up the blueprint and set the gunners back by anothe five years.
I think Wenger has already overachieved and it’ stime for someone w ith fresh ideason playing direct football not pass her and all over the pitch.

WENGER OUT!!! If he doesn’t buy quality in January then its bye bye Wenger. We deserve more than being also-rans! The problem is the board will never sack him coz he delivers a profit every year for them. Its time they became as ruthless as Abramovich and DEMAND results.

    December 13, 2010 at 11:48 pm

When i saw the lineup i already had doubts about the game. I was surprised by the start of rosicky as well as wilshere in the middle. Why not playin nasri in the middle? Wilsheres performance was a 4 in
my opinion. But who really made me angry was once again our little russian diva, who showed again just what a lazy, uninspired player he is. What kind of problems has he, not to be motivated against manu? He realy had not any impact, so he deserves a 2 if you ask me. Bench time for him now, send him back to sibiria, and start with theo or rvp. Chamack had no support, ok he missed the one chance but can we really blame him? I dont think so. He just cant do anything when ther is no support! On the others i absolutley agree with you, especially clichy who tries very hard but everytime he makes a good effort he has to make a terrible mistake. Again again and again…
Ahhhhh… I hope the verminator, a full fit cesc and rvp and maybe even diaby will give us a boost to save title chances.

For the sake of our club Mr Wenger, please pack your bags & take your tippy-tappy one-dimensional passionless football with you. Your brand hasn’t worked for a long time. Tottenham have become a bigger threat than us. They beat us from two-goals down, & did better than us in the CL. And they didn’t lose against Chelsea. You and our club are becoming embarrassing & very predictable especially when the pressure is on, and you just aren’t tactically equipped to compete with the top clubs. Walk away while Arsenal fans still appreciate what you’ve done for us, because these performances are becoming too much of a habit, and your wanton neglect over glaringly obvious areas will sully your good name at the club. Signings like Arshavin, Squillaci & Chamakh are not progressive or inspirational, & it has been universally obvious that we have needed a GK & a leader for at least FOUR years. Yes Mourinho lost 5-0 against Barca, but he has won two CL with different clubs. Wenger has lost both his European finals and presided over a 6-1 defeat at OT. Please accept you are tactically lost & out of touch with any meaningful winning formula, & retire gracefully.

What a damp squid, after all the hypes dished out by AW recently. Winning or losing a big game is Ok if it was played with spirit and fight and the better team prevailed. Man U did not played that well, scoring with a freakish goal, but Arsenal was worst, could not string passes together for a lot of the times and slow like pedestrians. Only Song was in any spirit to melt out shackles to Evra. Overall it is a game you can forget about, there was hardly anything positive.

    December 14, 2010 at 12:09 am

Arsenal looked completely beaten and they lacked ideas. But i really feel Wenger has to look at the tactics- its too predictable. He isn’t playing players in their natural position. First of all Nasri without Fab is the heart of the team so he should be in the middle pulling the strings instead of Rosicky who hasn’t done anything positive for us in 2years. The fact he’s acting captain says it all for our lack of leadership, and in all honesty Fabregas hasn’t been himself sinse last season. Arshavin for Russia and previously Zenit plays best in the hole behind the front man, weaving in and out looking for space. He’s probably one of the best players in the world at that- yet Arsene has him on the left wing cutting in which leaves a massive gap down the left exposing the defensively challenged Clichy when Arsh loses possesion, which is often recently- there’s no point playing Arsh unless you put him in a position to make his worldclass abilities count otherwise he’s a liability. Narsi was marked out the game on the other wing through little fault of his own. Chamakh for some reason instead of being an outlet kept tryin to collect the ball in midfield and being taken out leaving us with noone upfront. Either play your players in their best position or dont play them atall, Chamakh seemed entirely disinterested. Walcott needed to start to give Man u something to think about. Because atleast he would have stuck to being on the wings because Arsenal’s formation is ridiculously narrow that teams attack the space on either flank
But our main problem has always been a lack of defensive discipline and tactical awareness. Kos and Squillacci are dreadful together and none of them have a foggiest idea where they need to be positionally. And as decent a player as Song is, i don’t see him as a holding midfielder because he keeps pushing up. Our defending was farsical at times, and i really feel Wenger needs to take responsibility for this- we’re too easily beaten by good teams who know how to play against us. I know how to play against us for god sake, its that obvious so i’m pretty sure Sir Alex does! The tactics have to change its as simple as that.

….. and … this time ….. ITS THE UNITED PITCH!! Oh right …. thats a nice change I guess …. not the referee, the fourth official, the injuries, mid-week internationals … IT WAS THE PITCH!! NEVER, NEVER THE FAULT OF WENGER of course….. the PITCH for God’s sake! Of course! We could all see that!

Unfortunately there aren’t enough of us screaming for Wenger’s blood. We really must get a campaign going to get rid of this witless fool who is riding on the success of many moons ago with a great team he INHERITED! Come on people – surely we can all see that this man is deadwood. He has no clue – worse still he has no passion. That is the fundamental problem.

we all respect and have a trust on wenger and this is no longuer, why?
1/wenger has no plan B to win a game when he needs it
2/all the substitutions made by mister wenger are by or after the 70s minutes.
3/wrong start line all the time.
4/dont have a world class goal keeper,i love to see this kid who played tonite rather than the other 2 loosers.
3/bothof new signing( squilachi and koscenly) made the team the weakest diffence on the last 10 yrs .koscienly use to play for french second league ,he just played one season with lorient and what experience he has?
6/djourou suppose to be the first center back and he showed it many times he played and according to his performance last week against fulham i thought he will be in the starting XI.but he is not french i guess
7/archavine the worst signing in arsenal history.so lazy, has no skills watsoever.he is below average player.he knows only to critsize his teamate.
8/wenger need to sign a strong and smart midfielder ,i thought for a while song is great but this season he just runs after the ball like a headless chicken.gave a way the ball many times in critical area
9/as longuer as wenger believe in archavine we will win a fucking shit,he has to sell this little big mouth mother fucker or bench his ass,we need theo ,we need djourou instead of those two french players
10/wenger fucked it up eboue carrear, eboue use to be the best right back deffender on the world on 2007.but ofcourse he is not french and wenger went to nante to sign bacary sagna who cant even deliver a descent cross
im not talking according to tonghite defeats but wenger has to find the way to win ugly ,he has to admit that he made many mistakes .he has to stop deffending the horrible player,he has to plays the right person not only the french players.
any way the season still a lot to come may be it will be many surprises ,and good luck for the gunners.

I totally agree with this comment. So Evra was right in a way. We failed to prove him wrong. Can we now do something about it? Can someone close to Arsene Wenger advise him to act wisely by bringing in at least 2 solid defenders and a reliable central striker. At this rate we can never win the title. We are sick and tired of mentioning the obvious all the time and yet the one who is suppossed to act on this crucial matter for this club seems to be more concerned about his accounting.

Couldn’t agree more Temper. We will not win another meaningful trophy under Wenger. The Carling Cup should be within reach – just? AW should have stuck with the tried and tested formula which served so well in the early years. Trying to emulate Barc just won’t work in the PL. Forget our current lofty postion, there will be at least 3 or 4 more defeats on the way this year. nothing changes.

no surprise. 2 shite teams just this current arsenal team are slightly more shite than the current man ure. football is in a huge decline and tonites match proved it, 2 awful teams boring the fuck out of everyone. man utd always had to depend on the ref to beat arsenal but they now know that its a fore gone conclusion, they where playing with us tonite they sat back at times and invited arsenal to attack and arsenal did what they do best pass the ball over and back and then lose it. nasri the faggot remarked in the papers how he and his fellow faggots where scared going to old trafford when they had ronaldo and a up for it rooney, that statement says it all for me no wonder with that attitude that they still got beat by a team that in nasri’s words are past it. they used to call us boring arsenal under george graham but at least we were winning things. we are now boring and predictable and we will win fuck all.

Nothing knew to get your pants in a twst about, sam problems as before except. Lack of passion. United were shite too. Jammy goal costs us but what was more concerning is our inability to craft a proper fucking chance. Chamakh’s was closest with the diving header other than that, very little.

The gunners playing style is very easy to counter.Yet when it aint working,Wenger has no plan b but to stick to his rigid plan. The result is all too familiar to gunner fans.
I’m afraid he has achieved all he can with the gunners. The board should get someone with fresh ideas. Play direct and have less passes. The problem with the gunners is the number of passes strung to get to the box.
That’s why Rio and company were hardly tested and were able to repel any high ball or whatever is thrown at them. I believe the Carling cup is the only trophy the gunners can win.Foret about the FA/ep and cl trophies.Even if the gunners reach the qf/sf it’s better they get kicked out rather than be humiliated in the finals.
Btw another beating by Chelsea will confirm that the gunners are 2nd rate . It will stay that way until Wenger’s kids matured which should be by now or he buys the quality players.
If not ,mark my words, the gunners will continue to get beaten by the red faced and Chelsea.

we didnt penetrate their defence enough ,not urgent enough ,to much patience in the build up . utd could read us like a book and to be fair they defended well,
its the players on the pitch that are to blame they have the quality i just think they dont have the desire
we need to get them riled up at ours and show them what it means to us ,to much tuting and sighing which spills on to the pitch and they get nervous and make mistakes ,just like against the spuds 2nil up and cruising and you know the rest .
