[Ratings] 1-1 Cesc’s 89min pen saves Arsenal

Arsenal 1-1 Leeds FT
(HT 0-0)
  • Fabregas (pen) 90
  • Snodgrass (pen) 54

An 89mins Penalty saved Arsenal blushes to draw Leeds 1-1 in the third round of F.A. Cup. Cesc Fabregas came off the bench and scored with a penalty kick in the 90th minute to give Arsenal the draw at the Emirates Stadium. lower league Leeds had gone in front on a 54th-minute penalty from Robert Snodgrass.

Overall some of the Arsenal fringe players failed yet again to take there chance, and not for the first time this season. This is the same bunch of players who lost to Braga and failed to beat Wigan last week. It wasn’t till Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas came on that we looked to test the Leeds defense as we just went from side to side and gave the ball away.

Now for a tough tie up Leeds and certainly a game we could of done without…

Arsenal Ratings

Szczesny : 7.5/10 (Got a hand to the pen, made a fine save to stop us from going 2-0 down)
Squillaci : 6/10 (Looked slow and sluggish)
Djourou : 8/10 (Our best player today, 3 MOTM games in a row)
Eboue : 6.5/10 (Good pace going forward but wasteful with his final ball)
Gibbs : 6/10 (Gave us nothing going forward)
Rosicky : 5/10 (Very sloppy with his passing)
Denilson :4/10 (Gave away a stupid pen and was poor)
A Song : 5/10 (Gave the ball away on countless times)
Arshavin : 4/10 (Everything he touched went wrong for him, didn’t look up for it today)
Chamakh : 4/10 (Cant remember him testing the keeper or doing anything positive today)
Bendtner : 6/10 (Poor game but unlike Chamakh and Arshavin he keeps going and when he played down the middle we looked more of a threat)
(Fabregas 59mins) Came on and we looked a better team (Walcott 68mins) His pace saved us, won the pen and we looked dangerous with him on the pitch (Vela 79mins) He should have started the game. Not given enuff playing time at Arsenal

How you can give chamakh and arshavin the same rating i do not know

    Possession: Arsenal 63% – Leeds 37%
Shots (on goal): Arsenal 23(13) – Leeds 6(2)
    Corner Kicks: Arsenal 11 – Leeds 2

From those stats it would seem we did enough to win. I actually though Denilson didn’t play badly apart from the penalty which was just lazy!! I think you are being rather harsh on all and sundry. Djourou has turned into a monster! Arshavin ahs fallen from grace but he was involved in our two best chances (other than the penalty) and di have a good shot saved by ScHmeichel. Rosicky was very busy bit no real end product!!

When Ive been saying all this while Denilson is sh*t.
Then all these “statistic” ppl blast me w/ how good he really is.
I’m no numbers guy, but I know sh*t when I see one. There’s no need to smell it & taste it like what some folks are doing to convince themselves otherwise.
    And who stole Arshavin’s mojo?

Djourou is incredible! He reads everything, great interceptions, tackles and pace.

Watching Denilson play make me want to cry. He is terrible. I understand he is a good passes but he far too slow and week in the tackle. Arshavin is the biggest mistery at arsenal how can he go from star player to crap in just 2 seasons. He also lacks any strenght what so ever.

Bendtner was rubbish but thats not his fault. his best position is clearly down the middle and why wenger continues to ask him to play on the wing is strange.

I cannot understand how arshavin and denilson played 90 mins. should have been taken off at half time bith of them. weneger needs to wake up and see that we wont win anything with these two retards playing.

    Djourou is cracking!

Hopefully today shows Arsene that we don’t have a ‘B’ team. They’ve showed at Wigan and again today that they simply cannot be trusted to do a job when all played together. Granted, you cannot expect the same quality as the first eleven but it’s the lack of effort that’s alarming.

RedandDread – this is the same Denilson that 1 year ago almost to the day saw the referee sprint past him when we played ManU in the Emirates and Rooney scored. There are many other instances of this when he plays. That laziness in him is costing us games.

arshavin …yeah he had a bad game, yeah he lost the ball a thousand times, yeah he’s lazy…..but theres this one moment of utter brilliance( the chip to unleash thoe on the flank)…thats why u need people like arshavin …every time he touches the ball,ur heart beat goes in slow motion, hope raises

he just needs to get his head out of his ass, we dont need an eboue story all over again

Djourou was a monster today but something is so wrong with the way we play these kind of games, the usual side ways nonsense, attacking a nationwide side with 3 players when going forward and them having 10 behind the ball and some dispirited performances out there,Arshavin having turned in to a carthorse, denilson worse then i have ever seen him,Bendtner could nt hit a barn door etc. Some of them should be ashamed of not putting in enough effort ,noone would blame them if they died with thier boots on but to often they just go through the motions and that is simply not good enough representing Arsenal Football Club.

arshavin lost the ball and all that but he was more efficient than any of our other attackers….. he will always do sumthing dangerous when he daznt lose it rather than chamakh hu will pass it backwards!!!!! and for denilson… he shud just be on da bench… thank God ramsey is back!!!!

Wenger showed again his stubberness, when the crowd were asking him to take off the laziest player in arsenal history(arshavine) he simply ignored them and took off chamack.I’m been writing off this russian since last year.he has no commitments for the club at all.he never showed like he plays with his heart if he has one for this great club.I think he is the worst recruit at arsenal history.I watched every single game arshavine played, never impressed me .I still remember how arshavine missed two great scoring opportinuties on front of an empty box in the 6 yard last year and that was against hull city and porto.he is sososososo lazy. No skills .no dribling ,few good passes for two years not enough for a player that every one expecting a lot more from him.he is so far from an average player .I think he is the worst player at arsenal squad, wenger finally realized that arshavine not a starter when every one fits well and he left him on the bench for the last 4 games .I think wenger try to make it harder for himself .he should introduce the best eleven and kill the game early than rest some players on the second half, wenger look like is not taking the FA cup competution so serious.wenger made the same mistake against wigan and he never learned from this mistake.he has to understand we don’t have a great “b” team .u can rotate to give the key players some rest but not the whole team.It was embarrassing the we move the ball, the way we diffend ,the passing .it was not the shining gunners who is playing today.hopefully mister stubberner try to understand our frustration and play the good players .it came to the point that I’m wishing arshavine can leave the team any time soon.I will ask all the funs to boo him. If he is gonna play like this.he should respect the funs and commited himself to this great club.last year he didn’t stop from criticising his teamates and telling the media that this team can’t win any trophy.we sick tired of his big mouth.its funny when he was dreaming to play for Barca .may as a water boy for the team

Arshavin didn’t play well but stats show he is one of our better players. Denilson and NB52 let us down . Denilson – how many times do we have to see these performances until wenger finally realises? and NB52 – Clearly does not want to be at the club as he is not automatically in the first team, he talks a good game but doesnt show this quality but in his mind he sees himself better than everyone else and thats frustrating him. Sell both these players we have JET and lansbury let them have their time these lower class players like NB52 and denilson have had long enough!

Denilson, Arshavin and Rosicky were all utter sh.t. As soon as i saw the team sheet with Song and Denilson playing CM I knew we could be in trouble. Song is a fine tackler and a key component to the team as long as he sticks to what he is good at….we don’t want him on the ball trying to pass in their half! denilson just doesn’t track back and show enough commitment to the team, I think he will go now Wiltshire is in the 1st team and Ramsey is back. We have plenty of young players who we can use as back up….Eastmond, Coquelin, Frimpong (hopefully recovered) Lansbury + loads of others. Rosicky seems to be lacking end product since he got fit last year.

I think Bendtner looked ok especially when played through the middle. He will always have that style that looks a bit lazy at times and he does recieve the ball in difficult areas, so he will lose is sometimes.

Walcott just makes a difference everytime time he plays.

    Djourou was awsome again.

Itz wengers fault he should play 442 with arshavin in d team

We should have playd a team like this
    Eboue djouru Squillaci gibbs
    RM song rosicky LM
    Nikki b arshavin

Now in this team d RM should b natural right midfilder nd not a player out of position same goes for a LM

Now nikki b and arahvin will b most effective but do we have d right players to play this formation that’s another question.

Billy Bendtner was shit. The guy thinks hes the best striker in the world.Well hes the only one.Remember he was playing against a championship defence. He cant control a ball and couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo.Sell the big headed twat. And you thought he was better than Chamakh!!!!

This summer we need a clearout of the dross and that means goodbye Denilson Eboue Squillaci Rosicky Arshavin and Bendtner. They are not good enough for a club the size of Arsenal

As for Djourou remember this is the guy Wenger left out in the games v Spurs Man Utd and Wigan to play Laurel and Hardy.Great management eh?

Firstly fair play to Leeds. They were up for it today, committed and battled well to shut is out. For the all the bad we had on display their performance made it that much harder for us and even at full strength it would have been a battle. So credit where it’s due and all that.

We however have some waking up to do. I don’t care how much stick I get for this, but Bentdner needs to go. He is by far one of the worst players I have ever seen in an arsenal shirt. His short passing is terrible, his hold up play is uninspired and sloppy. His finishing atrocious. He has never impressed me during his time at arsenal. In fact his elevated opinion of himself when compared to his actual ability is something that’s always grated with me. I will stick my neck on the line an go as far as too say he will never make it at the top level. He’s not and never will be “world class”. I think there were a few players today for us that can be considered in the same bracket. Denilson is weak and his vision is poor. I don’t actually know what kind of player he is. He’s not a defending midfielder, he’s not an attacking midfielder either. He’s just a run of the mill squad player that’s shown again today he’s not good enough. I wish we had moved Rosicky on in the summer as well. Galatasary were gonna give us 7m!! We could of got Van der varrt instead of the scum down the road and we would be much stinger in the middle. Wenger talks a good talk about not buying players to stunt the growth of the ones he has. But blatantly he needs to adress some if the problems because it was clear today and indeed the Wigan game that the depth and strength of our squad is not as strong as our manager would have us to believe. At least we are still in the cup. And Leeds will give us another big game up at the road. Let’s hope that some of the dross we saw today are not involved on that occasion.

People people slow down. It’s not all Arshavin”s fault. I said it before I will say it again. Arshavin is risk taker mad Russian a gambling man who can lock the best defenses! We need his services and type of play. It refreshing and gives us more dementions. The problem is you can’t not play him with denilson on he pitch or any other inexperienced no pace no positional awareness on the team. Whose job is that to put the right team kn the pitch? Le Boss! Rosicky is not leading by example nomore captain for him. Stop playi ng NB52 on the wing. That worked when we had finishers like Edwardo, it ain’t gonna work with Chamak ( I’m not gonna attempt shots) and Van Persie I make the plays therefore don’t expect to trust anyone else to make something happen. Quit blaming the Mad Russian he is not playing with right players (cover his mistakes and feed him the ball)lol. Ok that last sentence was uncalled for! Why Vela did not start!

bunch of poofs. football has took a massive nose dive in terms of talented players, and even worse the lack of players that will put their heart and soul into winning a game. im sure any of us supporters getting a fraction of what these bitches get paid would try our hearts out. makes me sick to think that there are children starving to death around the world, and faggots like these over paid spoilt delusional cunts are farting about a football pitch and getting paid outrageous money to do so. most of these cunts believe their own hype and think they are intitled to their over the top wages. money has ruined football, look at faggots like ronaldo swaning about as if he is god and the cunt is useless, its wankers like him and clubs like man utd that have turned football into a game full of egotistical knobheads. its fucking bullshit that alot of people spend their hard earned wages to go watch the teams they love only to be treated to a feild full of gay boys mincing about thinking about clubbing that night and what top will they wear that will match their jeans.

Foolish gunner is right. Arshavin didnt play rubbish, he is just a risk taker and tries to make things happen unlike the rest of the arsenal team who just play the same safe boring rubbish pass pass pass game. arshavin is always looking to beat players, take shots or make that key pass to put people through on goal. i’d rather see that than watch denilson and rosciky pass to infinity
