Some of your ratings just doesn’t add up. Szcz 6.5? He was piss poor, should’ve dealt with the 2nd goal, and not convincing for the first either. Vermaelen was not a 7.5, more like 6. He’s a part of the defense which didn’t work out at all you know. Chamakh had a decent game, better than Nasri and Wilshere.

Another shocking performance to go with the others in our collapse at the end of the season.2 wins out of 13 is an absolute disgrace and any other manger with a shred of decency would resign.How fucking bad is our defence.Unless we buy at least 6 quality players we will finish outside the top 4 next season

Like you i am a frustrated gooner, but i am not going to bore you about having to live in enfield during the early eighties and having to listen to the spuds go on about uefa cups, glamourous football and how many FA cups they have won, the point is, the key word was patience and between george graham, Arsene wenger (and Rioch… Bergkamp) i was able to see Five championships, Five FA cups, Two league cups and a cup winners cup, not forgetting the countless disappointments of cup final losses (FA Cup, League cups, Uefa cups, Cup winners cup, Champions league!!!) so lets face it, no one gives us a god given right to win anything, but at least we have had one hell of a ride!!
Now the season is over, its in the past…Mr Wenger prove us wrong!!!!!!

I don’t want to come fourth. I don’t want to lose leads. I don’t want to conceed early goals. I don’t want to be shit a set pieces. I do want to spend money on people that will enhance our squad. I take issue with every man and his dog quoting whatever player’s name is currently being linked with Arsenal. Eden Hazzard is the type of young player – from the Ligue 1- with potential that Wenger is criticized for buying. Karim Benzema has done well in the La Liga and so will not come to Arsenal unless they offer silly money. Arsenal – not only while Wenger has been the manager -have never been a big spending club. People are looking to Scott Parker!! An injury prone midfielder and captain of a team that has just been relegated and done nothing at his previous clubs apart from warm the treatment table – hardly the winning mentality and robust player we need. Spend some money? Yes, but realise that you are supporting Arsenal who rarely spend lots of money in total or on one player. Even if we sack Wenger the liklihood is that it will be someone that will have to live with the constraints of the club. Yes, Wenger may share those principles but the next person will have to even if they don’t want to. David Dein. He sold Arsenal up the river as quick as you like for the money. He was around when we were shit in the early 80s and the only thing he did was to bring in Wenger. There is no one answer to our problems. Spending money is one part. Getting a defensive coach is another part. Finding that winning mentality, however that is done, is another part. List all of the others and i’ll probably agree. Remeber that none of them guarentee success. None of them protect us from bad refereeing decisions.
Hazard, Benzema, Parker & definately a centre back,, that’s where we should put our money on- Ricardo Alvarez has some good technique,, a powerful shot and play both wingz,, use both feet!!
I believe Koscielny would and will be a great compliment 2 varmalen, Djorou is still too young,, needs some confidence build up & alil experience!!

Very disappointed by the failure to use players such as Lansbury and JET, clearly good enough and you feel that it is too late now as the club have to spend and they may not get their chance. Very disappointed that Wenger has kept faith in players that are clearly not good enough.
If Wenger doesn’t bring in a commanding centre half to partner Vermaelen then he will not be there in 12 months time, Gary Cahill is the only answer to me, we can build him in to our team and the long term plan isn’t affected, Alex Song is a fan favourite but he looks tiny in midfield and a Patrick Vieira style player must be found, unfortunately there are not many around and signing one may hinder the development of Ramsey, Wilshere and Lansbury. Scott Parker would not play enough games to fulfill his transfer fee.
A much better Left Back is needed, Gael Clichy is turning in to a calamity… Leighton Baines I am a huge fan of but at 5’7 he would not deal with the big diagonals that we suffer from.
I would also hope that Miyaichi is granted a special talent visa, we could use his creativity from the bench. Gibbs and Vela need season long loans to Bolton-esque clubs and there is a lot of deadwood that needs clearing out; Rosicky, Squillaci, Denilson, Almunia, Lehmann, Traore, Chamakh, Bendtner and Arshavin would not be missed… The tenacity of players such as Chung-Yong Lee and Stuart Holden would be very much welcomed in the 4-3-3 formation, however unrealistic it would be to sign those exact players.

Its nonsense to argue that JET and Lansbury are clearly good enough. Far too many gooners are starry eyed about our young players. They should be in the squad and be given some chances as back up players. Its dominant players we need-at the back-and a driving box to box player and we dont possess one. Its these players who will give players like Nasri and Fabregas some time to operate in.
In reality our squad is massively unbalanced. Vermaelen, Squillacci, Koscielny, Djourou are essentially the same type of defender-none of them is particularly strong in attacking the ball. Neither Gibbs or Clichy can defend in the box, or are strong at turning and tackling-a left backs core business. Up front we lack penetration because we are short of a driving midfielder ever since Flamini moved on. This will shock many but I would bring Hleb back-just dont play him as a second striker! He is hard working, clever and would cost little. To me he offers us 10 times what Denilson does
I like Cahill too but I think Sakho or Samba would do what we need-and it will not be cheap. We have seen Cahill defend as poorly as our own defenders in recent weeks. After a centre back, its a striker we need. We had enough chances to win this game. Yet we end up nearly losing because we cannot defend against a big, mobile centre forward.
Cahill, Samba and Hengerland please. Concede half as much as this season and win all games were we go ahead. Even if we don’t but anyone else we will be a much better team than any time in the last 6 years.
Quite honestly even though we’ll be seeded at the rate we’re going I don’t think we’ll qualify for next seasons champions league as I like many other Gooners have lost confidence in the team and the manager who has become a serial loser of vital points in the past few years.
The longer Wenger stays and takes no action to seriously shore up the team,the gunners are on a downward slippery spiral. By that I means he gets unknowns .We know what happened when he got the two French defenders.He has to be serious to get the quality,experienced players.
If doesn’t do that and the gunners shoot themselevs in the heart/foot every spring,rest assured the gunners will be like another Liverpool. Then it will take another two or three years at a minimum for the gunners to be competitive again.
This is the stark scenario and btw the red faced cunt and MC could have won titles and FA cups when the gunners were in the wilderness.
We were SO close this season. It seems like there is a running gag in the premiership about Arsenal not winning a trophy. Wenger has to flip the joke on them on the coming season.
The physio’s and coaches have to be replaced with better quality ones, perhaps some of old players ?
The formation at the club doesn’t need to be changed, their just needs to be a “Plan B”, which I believe could be the legendary formation used with the invincibles, the 4-4-2/4-4-1-1. Since we are becoming to predictable it would be smart to mix up the formation we start with during the season, it would also utilise strikers such as Bendtner, Chamakh and maybe Robin van Persie. Although, if there was to be a change to the 4-3-3, I would say it would be to make Song actually stay back and defend, if he wants to have input, get him to practise “Pirlo-esque” passes from deep this summer as well as beefing him up a little bit and improve his speed/acceleration.
In terms of the squad itself, I would love to be able to look on Arsenal.com when I click first team players to see this:
Goalkeepers: Szczesny, Fabianski, Lehmann (I say stick with the two Pole’s as they are young and are improving especially under the tutelage of Lehmann)
Defenders: Sagna, Clichy, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Djourou, Chiellini, Bartley, Gibbs (Botelho/Traore), Coleman
Midfielders: Frimpong, Song, M’Vila, Ramsey, Wilshere, Lansbury, Nasri, Hazard, Gervinho, Miyachi, Arshavin (sort him out mentally and we have instant match winner)
Forwards: van Persie, Walcott, Vela, Bendtner (or Chamakh), Benzema,
How on earth is Arshavin worth a 6.0?? No shots on target plus the worst passing I witnessed in an Arsenal player since Diawara. In one instance, after collecting the ball in the opposition half on the left side with absolutely no pressure within 4-5 meters radius, what did he do? Passed it sideways to the Fulham’s midifled of course!
He’s worth a 0.5 for trying to shoot. 0.25 per shot he took.
How he had withered this season is amazing. Wenger seems to attract the weakest-minded players with fat paychecks and nothing to show up for.

Listen. we’re screwed. This team is seriously flawed (tactically, physically, mentally, defensively). I’d be surprised if Wenger can turn around the team’s flaws before the start of the next season (7-8 weeks away). We’ve had all season to sort i out…didn’t happen. Buying new players won’t help much either. Wenger has infected the whole club. He needs to take a good hard look at himself and figure out whats wrong with him.We do have the basis of a good team, but Wenger is failing to get the most out of them. He needs to get rid of pat rice and that type asap! Even if he does sign the right players I believe the biggest change that is needed is the Manager’s approach to the game. JET can’t get a game for Cardiff, Lansbury couldn’t get a start for Norwich, Eastmond can’t even get in the squad at Milwall.
The only youngster/reserve with any ability to make even a minor impact is Coquelin.
