What a game!! … Im still buzzing, proud of the players and the heart they showed today. I can wear the shirt with pride for a change and it feels fantastic… ARSENAL ARE BACK!!

Robin van Persie’s hat-trick inspired Arsenal to an incredible victory against Chelsea as their recovery gathered momentum in a Stamford Bridge thriller.

The Gunners captain demonstrated his importance to the team by taking his tally to an outstanding 28 goals in 27 Premier League games

Frank Lampard had headed Chelsea in front after 14 minutes but, in a game strewn with defensive errors, Van Persie put Arsenal back in contention from Gervinho’s pass.

John Terry made it 2-1 before Andre Santos equalised and the outstanding Theo Walcott put Arsenal ahead for the first time before Juan Mata’s spectacular strike set up the finale to an enthralling encounter.

Terry lost his footing to allow Van Persie to race clear for Arsenal’s fourth after 85 minutes before the Netherlands striker completed a second treble against Chelsea by hammering his third past Petr Cech deep into stoppage time.

Arsenal Ratings.
Szczesny 7.5 ( Made some great saves and came and punched when he needed to, Got booked and could of seen red for a rash moment of madness)
Mertesacker 6.0 ( Poor defending to allow Terry to score, but overall a decent game )
Koscielny 8.0 ( Outstanding and playing very well, Didnt give Torres a sniff all game )
Santos 7.5 ( Scored the all importance goal early in the 2nd half, Started the game poor but got better towards the end and very impressive in the 2nd half )
Djourou 5.5 ( Slipping all over the place and was weak) replaced by (Jenkinson 75)
Arteta 7.0 (Controlled the game with neat passing )
Walcott 8.5 (Maybe his best game for Arsenal, ripped ashley a new arsehole..”OHH”..replaced by (Rosicky 79)
Ramsey 8.0 ( Very impressive, the more games he plays the better he looks )
Song 6.5 ( broke up the play well but gave away countless dangerous free kicks for rash tackles )
Van Persie 9.5 ( 3 goals and MOTM, Arsenal have to keep him. The man is just class)
Gervinho 7.0 ( Missed a sitter but worked hard for the team and had a hand in most things (Vermaelen 88)

What a great game of football, and what a brilliant result for us. Remember the cunts had the audacity to claim they were going to ‘beat the crap out of Arsenal’, well who’s laughing now!

what a great game for us today, but i don’t quite agree with ur ratings for matersacker, djourou and song. Until song is not tight sitted in front of the defence line it would av been a different story cos u would av appreciate him if he is not there(8.5), matersacker defended well with nice interceptions after d first goal(8), djourou had a good attacking and defending as well(7.5)

great game! stoked with the win. i agree with all your ratings except one! santos defending was horrible! he is good going forward but defensivly he is poor, i dont want to get into all the details about why he was bad but ye, i would give him a 6 at most, he got a extra point for his well taken goal. great win lad! fine attacking display

Great victory.. Thought Gervinho RVP And Thei were excellent. Santos was terrible defensively first half.. The big german had a nightmare.. Thank god Kos was outstanding thought JD did pretty well considering he was out of position. Song broke up the play well and his passing was very good was a great platform today.. Arteta did the basics well and Ramsey looked like exactly what we were hoping.. Class final ball was good a constant goal threat and very hard working!

Santos was very poor in the first half. He was beaten for speed to easily. In the second half he put in some tremendous tackles as well as scoring.

Many plusses – Koscielny, Ramsey, Theo – but a few minuses.
    Djourou is not good enough.
Santos is slow and not very good at defending.
Arteta is not that influential as we’d hoped.
And seriously, is ANYONE at club teaching how to defend at set-pieces? Where are the men on the post for Terry’s goal, where are the bodies in the 6 yard box, why is Mertesacker no good in the air?
Anyway, great day, great win, and come on QPR tomorrow!

I am not sure I saw the same game LOL Theo did two good things in the whole game, a cross and his goal. How many times did he get past Cole outside of those two moves?? NONE. Does the great victory mask the truth. Theo was once again very poor. Compare him to Gervinho who past people all afternoon, made runs, tracked back and set up RVP … and you score him lower than Theo .. please. Djourou slipping all over the place and weak … watch the game again please. First 10 mins was shaky I agree but after that who passed him? No one, he was strong and great in possession. Maybe I watched another game LOL. To give Song 6.5 is poor. Of course he is going to give away some fouls, he is the only midfilder prepared to tackle and half of the fouls we not fouls. I suggest you record the game if possible and watch it 3 times before writing your article to ensure you accurately reflect players performance. GREAT WIN for the boys, but we must be honest, Chelsea were poor in defence. We cannot get complacent because although we scored 5, we let in 3. That should be a real worry for us.

Hasnt Santos scored in a few weeks as many goals as Clichy and Gibbs put together in like 5+ years? haha…. I know he isnt the best defender but his stats from previous clubs suggest he could be a 10+ goal a season player… Clichy and Gibbs could go all their careers without scoring that many.

So he is definitely a risk defending but a valuable player going forward.

My views on santos, he already looks alot better than gibbs and clichy yes its early days and he dosent look 100% fit, but at least he stands up and makes strong desisive tackels rather than diving in, he seems to win his fair share of headers which is a bonus as the last two were a clearly a weak link and we were often attacked down our left side. As for getting forward and giving us more options going forward, i think his link up play is good, he looks comfortable on the ball ( typical brazilian ) and hes proved he can score goals… having a great start and can only get better :-))

We are proud of Gooners and the class player Vanpersie, fantastic performance by Gervinho, he was the key last week with the game against stock. He was far better than Walcot even with the Chelsea game, look how he was troubling defenders and how much did he break through, the ratings some what un fair to rate Walcot above, great effort from kosienly, keep the momentum Gooners, every day we feel special to wear the Arsenal t-shirt.

First the ratings….most of us would agree, but with our own opinions too.

The very fact that Santos is scoring….making goals, and has flair…means he should be given our left wing berth in front of Gibbs when he is back…..I think our whole world would change.

My team when we have them all back…(never happens) is

    Chesney….Kossy Per…Vermy…Gibbs.

    RVP Gervihno.

    SUBS: Walcott…AOC…Rosicky….Djourou….Jenks….Arteta…..Benny….Ryo..Frimpong.

What a squad! Who would beat them?

This would allow Arsene to sell alot of overpaid and overrated players.. like Sagna, Bentner, Denilson, Almunia, Arsharvin, Vela, Galindo, etc. etc.

This would give AW a massive wad of money (abot £50 mill) to pay a lump of our sadium debt….it would free him to buy the great talent he knows he wants but cannot get yet.

If Drogba was there it would have been a different story but how many big games have we had over the past few years missing key players.

6 for Mertesacker is a bit generous I thought he was disastrous. You’d expect a 6’6” CB to win the ball easily for their first 2 goals but he just stands in the wrong place. What’s the point of a slow giant CB if he doesn’t win it in the air either? If he was any good we would have gone in at half time 1-0 up.

I thought Walcott was MOTM as Robin didn’t do anything amazing for any of his goals whereas Theo did some really great things.
