Laurent Koscielny message to fans about Alexis Sanchez’s attitude

Laurent Koscielny is confident that Alexis Sanchez has put his summer transfer saga behind him.

The Chile international was linked with a potential move to Premier League title favourites Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

He’s proposed move to the Etihad Stadium fell through on deadline day after the North London side failed to reach a deal with Monaco forward Thomas Lemar.

The 28-year-old former Barcelona striker missed the Gunners’ opening two Premier League fixtures before the South American returned to the starting line-up for a 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.

He has scored one goal in five appearances this seaosn after he bagged an impressive strike in a 3-1 victory over Cologne in the Europa League earlier this month.

The ex-Udinese star has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal with Arsenal and could leave the club on a free transfer next summer.

Vice-captain Koscielny lifted the lid on the striker’s attitude in the Gunners camp despite a frustrating summer transfer window for the South American forward.

“Alexis is an important player for us,” Koscielny told the Daily Express.

“I know it was a difficult situation with the transfer window but now it’s finished and I think he is focused on his job, on his performance and on his club.

“He’s an Arsenal player and he knows that he needs to play and he needs to score some goals and give assists to be better.

“He’s still working every day like he did before, so the most important thing is to keep his head cool and just play and enjoy.”

The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League ranking last season to miss out on a place in the Champions League.

Arsenal won the FA Cup last season thanks to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
