Fans slam Granit Xhaka performance after win against Brighton and Hove Albion

Arsenal strolled to a 2-0 Premier League win against Brighton on Sunday afternoon – but Gooner fans took to Twitter to slam midfielder Granit Xhaka.

The Swiss midfielder was selected in central midfield alongside Aaron Ramsey as Arsene Wenger made nine changes to the side that secured a 4-2 Europa League win against Bate Borisov on Thursday night.

Goals from Nacho Monreal and Alex Iwobi secured a convincing triumph for Arsenal as they maintained their brilliant home form and climbed to fifth in the table.

This was a brilliant performance from Wenger’s side but that did not stop fans from taking to social media to express their dissatisfaction at Xhaka performance, who was named in the league starting XI for the seventh consecutive match.

Xhaka’s criticism ranged from wrong passing to what some labelled as “pedestrian” style of play, with many fans claiming he should be dropped in favour of Jack Wilshere.

Another unconvincing win against with respect bang average opposition. Like the WBA match Xhaka was pedestrian in his movement and passing but given his unjustifiable price tag AW will not leave him out. With the obvious weaknesses in the Arsenal team at centre back we need to switch to a 4-3-3 system with Ramsay and Wiltshire flanking Elneny who is the best defensive mid we have.Holding and Koscielny represent our best centre back options.

I do not understand why you are criticising Granit, Ramsey left only him in the midfield. Wenger could have replaced xhaka wit wilshere instead of elneny
