International watch: Xhaka scores in big Switzerland win, Mkhitaryan’s Armenia suffer narrow defeat

Arsenal had seven players in action during Tuesday’s international friendlies, with a further four not getting any game time for their countries.

Granit Xhaka scored a penalty as Switzerland thrashed Panama 6-0 at home on Tuesday evening. The midfielder was substituted in the 69th minute at the Swisspor Arena.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan featured for Armenia as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Lithuania. He played a full 90 minutes at the Hanrapetakan Stadium.

Laurent Koscielny started for France as they enjoyed a 3-1 win away to Russia, playing a full 90 minutes at the Krestovsky Stadium.

Mohamed Elneny started for Egypt, but his side suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Greece. He was given 90 minutes at the Letzigrund Stadium.

Sead Kolasinac started for Bosnia as they drew at home to Senegal and was taken off after 74 minutes at the Stade Océane.

David Ospina kept a clean sheet for Colombia in a goalless draw with Australia at Craven Cottage.

Alex Iwobi played 88 minutes for Nigeria as they were beaten 2-0 by Serbia at the Hive Stadium.

Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere didn’t feature for England as the Three Lions drew 1-1 with Italy at Wembley.

Mesut Ozil was sent home before his Germany side suffered a 1-0 defeat Brazil in Berlin. Deyan Iliev was on the bench as Macedonia drew 1-1 with Azerbaijan.
