I really hope naming Silvestre is just a ploy to throw them off. Why not play Campbell? I'm sure he can handle it, ffs.

Almunia - 7: Very good game imo. A key save, good positioning and good in the air. Was left stranded by the defence on occasion.

Silvestre - 4: Ripped to shreds by Jones and lucky his mistakes didn't cost us.

Vermaelen - 6: Average game for him. Probably a bit too open at the back for him to score higher.

Clichy - 6: Did better than in recent weaks, but very poor opposition. Showed pace but did very little on attack except run in streight lines.

Eboue - 8: MOTM. Bursting runs, shredded the defence, great assist and if we had better finishers would have had about two more assists to go with it. Showed all the reasons why he should be strarting ahead of Sagna, imo.

Somebody else can do the rest. I'm tired, its 5:58 am.

Full-time Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland

Arsenal bounced back from their midweek defeat by Porto but made heavy weather of what should have been a comfortable win over struggling Sunderland.

The Gunners wasted a series of chances before Nicklas Bendter met Emmanuel Eboue's cross to break the deadlock.

Sunderland created little but should have levelled when Kenwyne Jones ran clear but scuffed his shot wide.

Arsenal only sealed their win in injury time when Cesc Fabregas scored from the spot after he was fouled in the area.

Arsenal Action Ratings

Almunia - 7 - Good save from bent at 1-0 to keep us in the lead.
Eboue - 9 - Man of the match. Was our best player going forward. Eboue gives us so much more going forward then Sagna.
Silvestre - 6 - Didnt have a great game. found it hard to control Jones.
Vermaelen - 7 - solid game and unlucky not to score.
Clichy - 7 - Decent game and back to his best.
Song - 6 - Was wasteful with his passing but won more then a few tackles.
Ramsey - 7 - Some nice runs, For me he is a better allround player then Denilson.
Cesc - 6 - Not a great game from Cesc, His passing was all over the place, Booked and looked off the pace. However scored a pen to make the game safe.
Nasri - 7 - Good game from Samir, Some nice wing play down the left and was always dangerous.
Bendtner- 8 - Played well and scored the vital first goal, Linked the play well and was strong. In this system he is the best player to lead the line up front.
Theo Walcott - 5 - Great pace but wasteful,

And that's it. 3 points won and now only 2 points behind Manchester United.

This is what happens when Denilson doesn't start, Ramsey is superior.

Great game of Nasri and Eboue, and Walcott was at times.

We still must shoot more.
