Squillaci Has The Longest Medical In History

Typical Arsenal, Always making us wait!

Has Sébastien Squillaci had the longest medical in footballing history?

Apparently this was done early on Monday and he should have completed the deal “all being well” straight after that, as the transfer fee and personal terms have already been agreed.

So whats the hold up?

Some rumours floating around on twitter (below)

“Squillaci has failed the medical and will have a 2nd medical within the next 24hrs”

“Just seen Squillaci talking to Avi Grant in some sauna in East Ham”

“The move has been hijacked by Pompey who have offered Squillaci more wages then Arsenal”

“Wenger has pulled the plug on the deal after he noticed that Squallaci was not as tall in real life”

“I work at London City Airport and I have just seen Toto Squallaci  flying out to Italy, I take it the Arsenal deal is off?”

And this is my favorite

“The delay in confirming the signing is due to the letter “Q” not being available in the Armoury and that Arsenal Expect the delivery to arrive tomorrow”

At the rate we sign players i think this is going to be our lot, but you never know.

dude……chill, they’re just awaiting international clearance from the FFF to the F.A, don’t ask how long it’ll take, the french take long enough to clear players, remember how long nasri’s took? lol

everything including medical and personal terms are done and dusted with an ok!

Surely it would be more likely to be:

Wenger pulled out of the deal after he noticed Squillaci was too tall in real life.

Perhaps after the debacle with Schwarzer’s medical, they are being extra careful. Oh, I forgot. The rumour about Schwarzer was just that! The shortest lived non-story so far this season!

Non-issue. We’ve always delayed announcing transfers. They’re probs just taking photos and trying to coach Squillaci to pronounce ‘I am a Gooner’ for the obligatory video.

I don’t think the report on the Sevilla website said “Personal Terms” were agreed. They said a fee was agreed and the player travelled to London to undergo a medical and NEGOTIATE personal terms. That says it.

squillaci was told to be at a meeting by the arsenal board to confirm the signing but when they asked Arsene wenger why he was not present in the meeting room he replied

    i didnt see it

The hold up is because Wenger will announce three signings at the same time… (stay tuned)

Probably the conversation between Squillaci and Wenger went like this:

AW:So you are interested in coming to Arsenal

SS: Ohh yes sir, this is a great honor for me

AW:Great, what is you salary expectation ?

    SS: A signing bonus and a weekly salary of L 80 k

AW: Ohh no, we dont pay signing bonuses and our top offer would be L 40 k per week

SS: Are you kidding me ? This is Arsenal, one of the greatest teams on earth !!! Why would I accept less than I make at Sevilla ?

AW:Do you read newspapers, internet forums or blogs ???

SS: Ohh no sir, I dont waste my time, but why ???

AW: I am also known as Arsene Scrooge Wenger

SS: I am on my way back to Sevilla then …

Delay is probably sorting out the video for the website; however, if I’m being optimistic it’s cos we’ve signed Schwarzer too and are making a double presentation. On top of those two, I’d like to see one more player come In, preferably old and English, who’s been there, done it & got the tshirt. Although currently injured and unlikly to ever consider a move to/be considered by Arsenal, David Beckham. Just a thought, pls say what you think.

I thought the reason it is taking so long is because when he walked in the building he picked up a injury.

I heard that the hold up was because Arsene was still negotiating/haggling with the clinic over the Doctors fee… The move is expected to be completed on January 31st 2010 at 11pm once negotiations have ended and a fee can be agreed! Cheapskates!

As usual, Arsene Wenger always buys at the end of the close of the transfer window. It is such a ‘last minute’ rush and ‘mental sapping’ for the fans. Revealing the new players is even slower!

    August 25, 2010 at 6:51 am

Super arsene,as unpredictable as always.still showing us the bug stops on his tabile. He is keeping us in the dark.He reminds me of Scrouge in Xmas Carol, where he said darkness is cheaper than light it cost no money.I dont know if it is compulsory that there must be a presentation ceremony.Squilla will play the next arsenal game.Wenger only wahts to show Sevilla how he loves his deals done, not informing all on how a deal has been done, and he has travelled to london for a medical.WHAT BECAME OF THE MEDICAL? Savilla,do you read me OVER

the reason squillaci is not unveil yet is because wenger found out that has tree toes instead of five and the medics told him off.wenger just sent me a flight ticket to squillaci to portsmouth.

    Squillaci DEAL OFF OFFICIAL!!!
He’s failed the medical as he has wooden toe nails!!!

I have a feeling that arsenal will unviel more than one signing and we will announce squillaci and another player prob a goal keeper but pretty sure it wont be Schwazer. Mark hughes is a top class cunt and hates wenger. I feel he will do everythinbg he can to stop us signing schwarzer. I know its down to the board at fulham but i’m sure hughes will be throughing spanners in the works if he can. If a new keeper is gonna be signed then arsenal will have to find a new club for one maybe two of our keepers. Mannone out on loan and maybe the sale of either alumnia or fabianski. all that will add to the delay of the announcing new signings. Squillaci is not need for the next game as Kos and djourou are both back so i would not be suprised if this is not announced until the last day of the transfer window.

Or could it be Harry “DelBoy” Redknapp, as he got a wiff of a done deal he know wants him to Join Tottenham as he likes to collect former Arsenal players.

He just jelous of us so takes our cast offs:

A few when he was at West Ham, Kanu, Lauren, Sol Campball, Traore, Bentley, Gallas, Flamini? Hleb? Diara?

I agree with this blog 100%.

My quality of life is lessened by my club not announcing signings as fast as I want them to.

I wonder if I can sue.

Wenger does it this way so he can trawl the blogs and look at all the people panicking. He has a nice Gallic laugh to go with it … “Har, har, har … Magnifique!!”

6M for a player having international and ChLeague experience during times when clubs are refusing to sell their players.
What more can you ask from Arsene.
The man is doing his job perfectly.
If Schwarzer or somebody comes at goal, Wenger has done all within his influence to power Arsenal into title contenders.
With little long term injuries, we could expect big from this huge squad we r having.

lol….I know this has dragged a bit but I am happy to wait and for once this is a player of pedigree at the top of his game and who knows we might even announce a double signings

My Uncle works in the boardroom and he gave me an update this morning.
It turns out that when checking his passport he wasn’t actually from France but from Italy and so he refused to sign him as all Italians are cheats.

    And the conversation keeps going:

SS: Mr Wenger what about the Tax Brackets in the UK ???

AW: Dont worry about it … but please dont ask Arshavin about it, since he doesnt understands it …

SS: So L 40k per week is your best offer ???

AW: Now that I have the chance to think about it, L 35k sounds better to me !!!

SS: I am off to Sevilla now …

SS: Mr Wenger, since we couldnt reach an agreement on wages, would you pay my air ticket back to Sevilla ?

AW: Air ticket ??? I would only pay you a bus ticket, and in order to do so, I would ask Pat Rice to donate blood to gather the funds …

SS: Mr Wenger, you are indeed Arsene Scrooge Wenger !!!

AW: get out of my office now, and please turn the lights off while exiting so we can save some money on electricity

    August 25, 2010 at 4:33 pm

Whats keeping it so long,is he not fit?if he is not fit then forget about him and look for another one,the fact still remains the same,we need additional defender and a better keeper,so please try and do something before the window closed.
