Who needs CASH when you have CLASS!!!

Today Arsenal showed BIG spending City how to play football.  And GK Fabianski was outstanding from the 1st min till the 94th making 3 world class saves from 10 men City.

Goals from Samir Nasri, Alex Song and Nicklas Bendtner saw Arsenal go 2nd in the league.

Ratings
Fabianski : 10/10 (Fantastic today, Made 3 world class saves, the first after only 2mins. Was faultless and won us the game. Our first clean sheet and MOTM )
Sagna : 7/10 (Looked solid at the back but should have scored)
Squillaci : 7.5/10 (Didnt put a foot wrong, Solid)
Djourou : 6/10 (VERY poor first 45mins, Roasted by Tevez and Richards, But much better 2nd half)

Nasri : 9/10 ( He is on a great run of goals, Also had an assist for the 3rd. Playing very well at the mo)
Denilson : 6.5/10 ( Worked hard, But got worried that he was going to see Red)
A Song : 8/10 ( Scored a wonderful 2nd goal and when the game was won he showed some lovley feet, again worried that he was going to get sent off)
Arshavin : 7/10 ( Great assist for the first goal and tracked back well to tackle Tevez, But still not at his best)
Chamakh : 7/10 ( Worked very hard for the team and lead the line very well, But never looked like scoring, Blasted over when clear on goal)

    Fabianski is the one.
I think we may see almunia leaving in january or if not then the summer.

  2. LAurence says:

Fabianski is showing that when you get a run in the side and some confidence, your performance improves. I think we missed Wilshere a little today which is a testament to how well he has settled into the first team.

  3. Nxumalo Sicelo says:

Well all those arsefools who have been accusing Wenger of this and that must now bow down and kiss the ground. The team can play football. Well done to Fabianski in between the sticks and to my man of the match Nasri. What a game of football this was! A pure footballing lesson dished to City. All you wenger critics shut up and enjoy football…………….damn

  4. SR says:

Unbelieveably forgetting to mention that City were a man down and not playing too well! Suddenly Arsene is a god again.

  5. Mizzou says:

    Go gunnerz. . .

  6. felatio pete says:

I tell you what, we made it hard for ourselves but wookash was awesome today, even Denilson was better than a 6.5 today as well, he helped retain the ball and he was always making timely interceptions.

  7. dn says:

Great result. Three points and into second we go. Only real negative for me was thae djourou was getting pulled out to cover for clichy half the game. For me clichy is a liability and all the other teams know it and target him. If Gibbs has a good run out against Newcastle, I think he should also get the start next Saturday.

  8. Kofi says:

@Laurence. I dont really think we missed Wilshere. Looking at the stats Denilson was a better option in this game as he is not as hard a tackler as Wilshere and continued to give us the 1 man advantage. Wilshere being over zealous could have earned himself a present (RED). Denilson did extremely well . Just did not get the praise

  9. YY says:

now we must kearn to beat Chelsea away to close the gap. man u’s form seems unable to stop Chelsea. which means no one could help us but ourself

  10. Steve Palmer says:

3,0 a great result i can hear you say,me i’m well happy, but ,and you have to say it Tevez had he been fit would have changed the result, that i have no doubt. As i said a great result against ten men, they hardly gave us a minute getting in as quick as a flash, is it me or did our passing slow up in the early stages resulting in many stray passes, strange that when with the extra man we should have had more options, players movement was slow, Arshavin i thought was playing for them, why did it take Wenger so long to take him off.
We take 2nd position in my eyes a great result but were still a way off from having it right!

  11. shaun timmal says:

Song was great, getting better with each game, but still some day-light in class and ability with Essien. We need a maniac at deffensive midfield — Flamini come home

  12. Ezra says:

I absolutely loved it! Way 2 go Arsenal!

  13. thundertinygooner says:

Very fair ratings except Djourou. He was awful throughout but he just didn’t get exposed when we had so much of the ball in the second half.Koscielny must replace him for West Ham.Good to see Fabianski getting the credit he deserved today. Also Nasri is now an excellent player

  14. Jose Antonio Reyes says:

I owe the team an apology you my remember me from last week when I said our squad was too small and too weak to win the league.I also said that we do not win enough big games. However today the lads proved me wrong we have alot of injuries and squillaci who I often slag off had a solid game and Arshavin inproved dramtically. There is of course a long way to go but today we put in a title winning performance 10/10 for mighty arsenal!!

  15. Jose Antonio Reyes says:

oh and 10/10 to fabianski who has impressed me alot recently he denied adebayor once today and made a number of other good saves

  16. Kollynx says:

Well deserve victory. With dis victory Arsenal is sending a msg 2 deir critism.

  17. akanimo says:

unbelievable 2 see de guners kip a clean sheet against a top rival. Go gunners go i said.

  18. Stanford machakata says:

Thats the way to challenge for the title. You have to discourage the top contenters or embarass them like we did today.i have not seen an arsenal keeper perform like this since david searmans tjme. Great staff

  19. gazzap says:

very good ratings. you are right, if we’d had almunia in the team I think we may not have won today even against 10 men. we would have conceded and city would have defended for a draw or a win. Fabi was rightly MOTM, well done to him.

  20. nabard says:

LAurence no u missed him not ” we ” you speak for yourself he wouldn’t have made a difference
im not sayin his crap or anytin but his not better than nasri, diaby , song, denilson, fabregas ransey, rosicky to start ahead of them

  21. Am says:

Denilson today was excellent, very disciplined, I actually think he did as good as Song.

  22. Matt says:

What a game. I am glad the team delivered today. The team was always going to do well and we are going to see a lot more of this. There are a lot of positives that are coming together at the same time and were evident today. Song’s positional switch is now paying off. Fab, Denilson, Bendtner, Walcott and Denilson are getting into their stride quickly as they missed as significant part of their season through injury. Their involvement will prove decisive in the next phase of the season. I am happy for Fabianski. He again proves that Arsene understands potential in his players. He is walking the path that Song, Diaby, Henry, Walcott and others walked. Of being castigated, given opportunity until the talent he shows during training comes through in big games. I would say give Djourou the same patience. He has been on the sidelines for a bit now and this is his first run in a long time. He will grow to become a kingpin in our defence. we are going to be awesome if we get all our players at high confidence level. Every player will be called upon to play a part in the race at some point. We need them. so don’t bring them down.

  23. Jk says:

Denilson deserved more credit, he did excellent apart from getting the yellow card. His only flaw to me was being out muscled on a couple of occasions. He deserves a 7.5

  24. Valentin says:

Djourou had a bad game, he kept getting turned by the argentine running bunny. When facing a big striker less mobile like Adebayor he was mpore at ease and he really improved.
Arshavin kept leaving Clichy exposed, but at some crucial point he did cover him. However he keep attempting those hollywood passes that often put us in immediate danger. When those passes come up it look good and thathelps his stats but he needs to cut the silly take of risk.

  25. take9 says:

y do people always say that Arsenal beat a 10 men Man city? Are they implying that arsenal would not have beaten Man city had they not been reduced to 10 men? People, there are rules in football games that need to be obayed or else you get a yellow or in this case a red card. I don’t think there’s a team in the epl that can match arsenal when it comes to passing and keeping possession therefore they use other tectics, which i must say might not always work. We are a great team and we beat man city, it is that simple, 10 men or not, get over it people.

  26. herbzoverrum says:

well done da boys………credit to fabianski & denilson…..solid performance all round
some haterz never happy , leave djourou alone he done welll he has been out for ages.
JUST LOOK AT THE SCORE LINE BABY!

  27. big ernie says:

Thought we played really well after the second goal, but felt we struggled a bit before then and thought they were going to get back in the game. As soon as the second sent in, it was game over, City’s heads went down and we cruised it. Flappy has a good game (2 in a row now) but not sure he was MOM for me, I think Nasri tipped it from CESC – shame Nasri didn’t take the pen! I felt Denilson gave the ball away a lot (but he does that) and apart from the assists, Arshavin looked really knackered, it seemed to me that every time the camera was on him he was bent over, hands on knee’s heavy breathing – what’s that all about? Squillaci had a solid game again, Cesc is coming back to his best, Song was more solid and not giving the ball away so much, Chamakh ran his boots off again (looks like he really wants to play for the club) …. great result and great platform for us to move on from – go on you gooners !

  28. Asmo says:

I assume this sudden change of opinion means your site will no longer call for Wenger’s head/drastic spending/scapegoating of goalkeepers?

Until the next defeat I’d wager.

  29. Max says:

Who needs cash when you have class? aren’t you the one talking about we should get rid of wenger because he doesn’t spend big money? either way fabianski looks world class, he is the one he just needed his confidence bacm

  30. yashveen says:

guys, i am really happy we won, nasri and fabianski were fabulous indeed.. and credit to all other players as well. but guys, we scored 3 when we missed like 5-6 great opportunities.. tell you what, city were 1 man down, but if they had all their players, this would have been a lot different! Not saying we would have lost, but my point is that when we had the chance to score, we DIDNT, we chose to pass around and then lose possesson. Also, i think clichy should go now, not because he was always outclassed by micah richards, but his crossing is woeful as always! Sagna on the other hand is improving in this area. And i also prefer rosicky to arshavin!!:):)
    Important victory i would say!
