    I would categorise some of this team as being lazy, overconfident and overpaid (Denilson, Arshavin) and some as being sub-standard (Almunia, Squillaci, Koscielny). A few others are OK, but not great. Nasri and Wilshere were the only players today who consistently perform at a top class level. I’m bored of hearing the self-appointed “true fans” saying that no “true fan” would criticise the team. That’s bollocks. These guys are being paid a fortune and most of them don’t give a shit. This is not the old days when players were modest and proud and deserved support. These players are mercenaries, they have very little emotional attachment to the club/fans. When you are being paid 10s of thousands a week for 1.5 hours work, the fans have every right to expect effort and hopefully talent. This is not a “club” run for the fans – its a business run for the shareholders. The club applauds the “true fan” (don’t criticise anything) mentality as it retains profits in the interests of shareholders rather than investing them in the interest of the fans/team.

    It’s mental to think that almunia could be any worse than he was today. His decision making has always been questionable but he’s prone to purely suicidal mistakes. He was called in to do a job. And the fact is he’s just not up to it. We all knew it. The pudits knew it. But apparently not wenger. Again anyone who still thinks arsenal will win the league is very deluded and will end the season dissapointed. Ive come to terms that this season is the same as the 5 that have gone before it. Bad injuries and a manager so blind someone should get him a stick and a labradoor. He goes on about this squad being the biggest he’s ever had. But the quality outside of the starting 11 is just not there. Denilson and Diaby the too that spring directly to mind. Add Rosicky who’s had it and bendtner who will never be good enough and that’s 4 players that need to go in the summer. Wenger has one more year to destroy our club after this season. Let’s just hope someone in the summer forces him to make the important decisions and clear out the crap. Unfortunately I expect the exits of Fab and Arshavin who can clearly see they will win nothing surrounded by championship quality players. This team, this year had a real chance. But the single minded one man project that wenger refuses to let go has once again destroyed another season. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Arsenal will never win another trophy under wenger.

    I felt like puking watching arsenal playing today. The three musketeers(almunia,Squillaci and denilson) bottled it. This is a match we should have won, but as usual we bottled it. I know Wenger will be talking about m-e-n-t-a-l strength in his post match. Tired of hearing all those bullshit. We should have brought in 2 players in the january transfer but the stupidity and stubborness of wenger wont allow that. Season ticket is being hicked, paying this loads of trash that should have being sold. With the rate we are going we might not win the league. Sorry folks but that is the truth

    When ALmunia went on that kamikazi run for no apparent reason and we lost the second goal- it was almost comically unsurprising. We’ve seen it almost every week from Almunia. With Arsenal and Almunia in goals you have to factor in atleast 1 goal from an ALmunia cock-up and another due to defensive indiscipline. So for a start we have to score 3goals a game to even have a chance of winning, but as Newcastle proved 4 isn’t enough. Denilson is so terrible its not even funny, how have these two players been given so many opportunites and not once have they rewarded Wenger’s pathological and quite criminal patience in them.
    Hate to say this fellow Gooners, we aren’t going to have a better chance to win the league than this season, we wanted an opportunity and we’ve been given it this season and unremarkably we have failed to captilalise. And whos fault is it? Look no further than Arsene- in January with our defense weak and Vermaelen out he had the opportunity to spend 10-15mill or even grab on loan a centreback and he refused to it. Due to his insane belief that Kos and Squillaci were world class and VERMA was coming back…and if recent reports are true that he nver truly believed Vermaelen was coming back then that further shows Arsenal at present are more focused on a sporting project than winning trophies. Because its sheer negligance not to have augmented a squad for the title run in. Now the club is in a state of mayhem because within the space of 3 weeks the season has collapsed around us. And its happened every single season for 6seasons. We have got to win the league this season, but with Almunia in goals and our defense there’s a better chance of pigs flying.

    I’ll be honest. For ages now when people have called for Wenger’s head I haven’t agreed. Frustrating as things have been loads of fans have been spoilt and forget that we weren’t a top 4 club every season.

    But, there’s limits and am angry after just seeing his post-match interview. He was basically asked what he would say to his keeper and defender after the second goal. His answer? “Nothing”. He said they already knew themselves so there’s no need to say anything. Bollocks! You think Ferguson would let his defence give a goal like that away and say nothing to them? No chance! He’d bollock them and make sure they didn’t do it again.

    But no, what fear do Arsenal players play with? What other profession can you make such a costly cock-up and your boss says nothing, no consequences to your actions. He’s too soft with the also rans in this team. If they’re not up to it then get rid. So you “kill” a player as Wenger says, nevermind, they’ll find a team to match their level. Better to “kill” one player than our whole team. If he’d done this with people like Denilson, Diaby etc. then maybe the better players like Fabregas wouldn’t want to leave.

    I was big Lehmann fan when we had him. However, I shouldn’t be thinking a retired keeper who hasn’t played in nearly a year is our best option but at the moment it’s far more preferable to having Almunia in goal. And at least Mad Jens has the balls to bollock the defence in front of them if they’re not performing.

    And it feels like every game we here what great character and strength the team have shown to fight back. You know why you say that so often Arsene? Cos we balls up so often that we have no other option. Sometimes it’d be nice to not be in that position to start with. How about showing character and mental strength to take a lead and hold onto it instead. That great mental strength only got us a draw today!

    Anyway, rant over. Frustrating day, can see that fourth trophy slipping away.

    I would definitely sell Arshavin. He is quite a special player in terms of his skills and ideas, but he does not seem capable of keeping running from more than 45 mins. I’m bored of seeing him walking around the pitch for 1/2 of the game. I’d sell him before everybody notices (1/2 the Arsenal fans don’t seem to have noticed yet).

    Really disappointed with how the match went. To drop points with such stupid mistakes….do we even deserve to win the league, showing such little respect to defending?
    I remain convinced if we had pushed the boat out and signed Buffon or Caesar or a keeper in that class, we would probably be 7/8 points better off.
    Tiny margins like that can make the difference. Our defence would play much better in front of a vocal, experienced, world class keeper.
    Id happily accept the whole squad remaining the same next season, warts and all, if only we could have a world class keeper.
    Sczezny is a great prospect, but at his age, he should be a very proud no.2. We are Arsenal.

    Arshavin might not be the hardest runner, or the fittest player, but even during a bad season by his standards he has been productive. Seems pointless to sell him when there are others far far worse in the squad.

    Saving money, what money is it saved, when you buy people who are not improving and are dragging you down to lose champion league in knock out stage? Still, I think he will be hard to sell in a year’s time, so I’d think it would be right to release him if somebody turns up with a decent bid. I say we ship out him Rosicky, Diaby and Denilson and get Mascherano or Rodwell and a top keeper, ideally Reina.

    Last year everybody was telling him get a good player up front and good goal keeper and we lost the league because of that, and this season everybody was telling him he needs a defender but he is stubborn who never hears. Arsene need to go, Arsenal cannot win with arsene as manager. He lost that motivation. He does not believe he can win, lets not blame the team, it is him.     It’s not time for Wenger to go. It is however, time for him to admit that his faith in youth has sadly not paid dividends. We didn’t have much choice but to go with youth when the Emirates was being built but now we have this amazing stadium being graced by players who aren’t fit to wear the shirt.

    But now we have money in the coffers and whilst I know that buying players isn’t as easy as it is in Football Manager (like some would have us believe) it’s time to invest in the areas that need it. I don’t endorse buying over the odds like Liverpool did in January but look at some of the talent that we have missed out on. Cheik Tiote went to Newcastle for a steal and is exactly the kind of biting, terrier like midfielder we need. Affelay went to the dicks in Catalonia for peanuts. Not every player is going to break the bank.

    And not every player needs to be world-class. As much as it pains me, look at Man U. Darren Fletcher, Ji-Sung Park etc. are hardly world beaters but they do an important job for their team and can be counted on to give 100%. Too many Arsenal players seem complacent in the fact that there is no danger in losing their place. It’s time to get rid of the dead weight and start filling the team with players who want and deserve to be here. The fans deserve that, at the very least.

    Jesus lads ,take it easy on arsene.Arsenal have been very unfortunate that 3 goalkeepers have been injured,Almunia would not have been playing if any of those had been fit.After the international break lehman will be fit enough to take over,that will sort that problem.Djourou could be back also Fabregas, walcott,and Song will all be back.Denilson will not have to play then.All is not lost win all the rest of our games and we win the title.People who critise the way arsene wenger goes about his business ,in my eyes are not real Arsenal supporters,you lot obviousley never seen hard times as arsenal supporters

    What is need of reserve if they can fill the position when some the first eleven get injured? look if you look on all the games we have lost, it is because of lack of leadership in the field, easy setpiece of which our defender cannot mark well, horrible error by either goal keeper or defender. And luck of agency from the part of manager. Also in business wise, buying good players pay off but when you buy rubbish you will have the same problem. We send silverter and brought squillaci what have gained, do think we could not get good defender from premier league worth 6 million? Even Upson will cost less than that, and is far better. With this team we don’t deserve to win any thing, I wondering how bad other teams, the only reason we are is because of some of quality of the players we have such as Fabregas, walcott, song, van persie, Djourou and nasri otherwise we will be in relegation.

    I have never became so disappionted in the last two games, that of ManU and today. In ManU game we have been beaten by mostly reserve team, and here today by a team we running from relegation that did not score any goal any in the first 25 minutes the whole season and guess what, today they get easy goal with 5 minutes and any goal keeper could save, one will ask why start with Alumnia, when you have Lehman who can at list organise the defense and give them instruction and spirit.
