   I agree that we should make our voices heard. To boycott T-shirts and memberships may not do the job. Heard somewhere that Arsenal are already profiting from T-shirts even before they are sold to customers due to advertising rights. There are over 27 million supporters in the world. If you refused to buy, there are hundreds of thousands of willing fans. Boycott memberships? Have you heard about the waiting list? Rich fans from the East will happily gobbled up what’s on offer. Perhaps you should create an article calling for boycott ideas.

   Everyone said the same thing when gg was in charge… When fr was manager at barca.. When Jm.. Was at chavski… The spuds say the same thing about hr.. Who’s only been there two years and in his time there has won more than aw.. Soo yes there are many out there who can and will go on to do a better job and win much more than aw has.. Aw is a legend at our club and always will be but there are managers who we haven’t even heard of yet who will do even more and win more then he can.. Its just a matter of time before everyone wises up to the fact that he has taken us as far as he can.

   Had this article been written two or three years ago, I’d have considered it offensive and utter nonsense. After 5 consecutive trophy-less years and another year of frustration and humiliation, it is difficult for even an Arsene admirer to defend the current squad as well as his current policy that exclusively relies upon youth development and cheap buys.

   The situation is pretty grim and complex. I think we all have to understand that the move to the Emirates has placed some highly considerable financial constraints on our spending power. Despite this, I think Arsene Wenger did an admirable job by standing firm in face of Barcelona bullying last summer and by refusing to sell Fabregas or any other established Arsenal player. Bear in mind that last year was the first in many last years when we did not sell any of our established players.

   What makes it very difficult to defend Wenger is his stubborn attitude to address some more-than-obvious weaknesses in the squad. Millions of blog articles last summer tried to draw his attention to our well-known deficiencies in defense and goalkeeping, as well as the lack of a defensively strong midfielder, aka DM. Unfortunately, Arsene ignored every single advice and remained stubborn.

   Had Wenger guided the team with his stubborn attitude, I think we’d all have gladly conceded defeat and accepted the superiority of his judgment. Sadly, this has not happened and dozens of silly errors in the aforementioned fields have proved that Wenger, not his detractors, were wrong.

   I don’t have the ability to predict the future, but like everyone else, I do have the advantage of hindsight and can certainly tell that had we bought a well-established goalkeeper and a couple of proven defenders, our season would have been very different by now.

   It is ironic that by stubbornly refusing to make a few minor adjustments to his players recruitment policy, Wenger has jeopardized his own entire youth development project. It is a sad, sad situation for every sensible football fan as Wenger’s failure is only likely to reinforce the likes of Glaziers, Ibramovics, Osmanovs, and oil tycoons of the Middle East.

   Football seems to be ultimate victim of Wenger’s inflexible policy. What a shame!

Since the War we’ve gone on runs that make consistant European football, a champions league final, other finals, a long run at the top in 07 08 and beautiful attacking football look like picnic.    I booed the team on Saturday….. sure, its my right as it is yours, we are not doing well…..BUT don’t have such a short memory EVERY teams success comes and goes, and we have had much more of it than most….

   grow up and support your club…

   The solution is so easy and I’m not a manager. We need an English defence, with a tough tackling midfielder, simple.
   If you look at the defenders Wenger has purchased over the years the list is horrible.
   Another area I think needs improving is the Assistant managers roll. Obviously Pat Rice has no balls at all. Why not put Tony Adams or Keown in there to learn from the master , but also add the English flavour , beats me .

   How much longer do we have to put up with wengers’s current methods before wenger admits to himself we need to changes .

    I think we definitely need certain changes this summer. Lets us say that we win the league this season then AW will keep repeating the same shit weve heard for the last few seasons-that is we are good enough and will continue to “grow together and display mental strength and belief”….i truly wish that we dont win the pl.call me a johnny come lately but ever since i started following football theres only 1 team for me and that is arsenal.but under wenger we have displayed some shocking attitude of surrender and a weakness that is unacceptable.let me tell u im not one of those fans that calls for 50 million per player buys every season ala RM or chelski.but we need replacements for some shit that we have on our paylist. denilson,diaby,rosicky,almunia,chamack( useless tap ins and no real pace or technique-that is what u get for being a bottom feeder),hoyte,traore should just be let go of.
    unless the manager is ruthless we wont foster a sense of wanting to be better.also players need to love playing for us , else there is no point.most of these players seem to be contented to play for AW and not arsenal.we need defensive and gk coaches.also needed are good tacticians wholl be no2 to AW.we need to also coach our players to use both their feet, shoot from distances and generally cross the ball well.the difference b/w invincibles and this team is simply this – in the invincibles anyone could start a move and anyone could end it.in this team, we have players who cant think beyond the next pass.players who just give away balls and cant be arsed to track back.a goalkeeper that will let a straight ball at him thru.in other words completely useless dross being allowed to earn 50-60k a week.that is atrocious.

    now to the fans- how are we as fans supposed to protest?
    we are not supposed to protest -a)during a game, since that affects the game
    b)after a game-since that will send a bad msg to the team( remember a banner being removed off last season for being anti wenger)
    c) after the season- since the board doesnt care a damn abt the fans…….
    d) against a player since that will diminish his confidence
    e) against the manager since he is god almighty.

    we need to take out a protest outside emirates demanding changes.dross out, class in. up the arse.

    Josh – Yes i play football mgr lol but i’ve seen these players play for real too & not just on youtude ! Perhaps outside the pitch they are stupid but on the pitch, they are real good !
    I’m not saying arsenal should buy every of those but some of them would be great addition.
    5 yrs ago Fergie said he was going to retire but he’s still here & i still belive Pep would come to Arsenal if he would get a proposal. He has almost the same squad, Rijkaard had when he took over and he is doing great job with them.
    When you see a player like Chamakh without any imagination, intelligence, creativity come in before Bendtner……You asked yourself what’s going on !
    Why remove Arshavin & Walcott and leave Nasri when he was injured !
    Why Mannone was not call back from Hull !

    honestly speaking,wenger and his policy was a great idea putting in mind the transition from highbury to the emirates but i think it has already served its purpose to remove arsenal from debt,and thank you wenger for that but now its time for reality,6 years with nothng to show for its,this guy is running arsenal as if its his club,signing teens is useless if they end up leaving before they meet there purpose or some like denillson never living 2 our expectation,the board should stop sucking up to wenger and give him the reality that we cant continue this way…arsenal fans i believe just like liverpool did we can make a change…WE CAN’T CONTINUE THIS WAY…change is needed .

Many of them who have commented have asked for new signings, but has it changed anything for others? We are where we are now bcz of wenger’s youth policy. Whilst i agree Wenger is not going to win you owt, i have to say it is an absolute pleasure to see you in this situation after the amount of arrogant rubbish that comes out of (most of, not all of) your mouths. The reality is – you’ve got a team of highly skillfull individuals with very little backbone. There is a now a culture of failure and there is not one player in your squad who can drag you out of it.     I support Arsenal, I like Arsene and do trust in him, I really thought we’d win a trophy or 2 this year, I did think that Arsene would buy a couple of players to improve the team…he did not, I am terribly disappointed that we have been so sh*t lately. We have also had the usual injuries at really bad times and also some really piss poor officiating (Dowd @ Newcastle, that tw*t at Nou Camp). The Football Gods have not shone on us like I would’ve hoped. BUT this is football, this is sport now suck it up like MEN and get behind OUR team. We still have a small chance this year (hell the spuds still thnik that they can nip 4th so why can’t we nip the league? Even if we don’t I still will stand behind OUR boys and manager next year.     Let’s review. We went out of the Champions League to the best team in world football, at the Nou Camp, only losing the game after our star striker was sent off. We went out of the FA Cup away to the best team in England at Old Trafford.

    None of this is embarrising or digusting or anything other than FOOTBALL!

    Wenger had done a fantastic job with limited resources (which is the official line and who am I or you or anyone to think we know better). He has given us great players and great memories and kept us competitive in a time where extortianate amounts of money have been spent by other clubs.

    I will always be grateful to Wenger and he deserves our respect for what he has achieved.

    To provide a balanced opinion – he is getting stubborn in his old age and his judgement of a player seems to be on the wane.

    Football is a squad game and a strong squad wins you titles. Our squad consists of many players who would not get into the squads of our rivals – this is a problem and a reason why we fail to compete on multiple fronts.

    Individual errors happen, loss of form happens, but you cannot gloss over a lack of quality. Many of our squad players have been at the club for 3-4 seasons and have not improved.

    The main difference between us and United say, is that when Fergie makes a mistake in the transfer market, he rectifies it the next season – Wenger sticks by the player and refuses to give up on him.

    Wenger’s primary duty is to AFC, not the career of any individual player. If player X is not up to standard, that player needs to be shipped out and another brought in.

    It is this rewarding of failure that p*sses me off. If we had an overhaul of the squad, shipped out the under performers and cut their exorberant wages from our bill – we would have enough cash to bring in 3-4 top players and could blood youngsters in a team of quality instead of a team of mediocraty.

    Finally – Wenger does not teach defence! We need a defensive coach, someone who can drill a back 5 to work in unison instead of looking at each other like lost little boys whenever we conceed a goal.

    These 2 issues are why we will not win another title under Wenger. If Wenger can adapt to the modern game in the same way he adapted the game for the modern era, I am confident we can be successful for years to come.

    Redordead – So you are saying that “going well” is just winnig titles? I know that what counts are the titles and i want one very badly but it cant be said that nothing is going well for the club.
    We are challengeing for the title almost every season and we are playing in the CL every season but i know we lack the cutting edge.
    Buying players like some of you do in Football Manager is maybe realistic for clubs like Chelsea or Man Ciity but not Arsenal. That is just how our club is. The cutting edge we lack and maybe experience, I know that.

    I agree that this has gone on for too long – groundhog day is a good description. It’s no use running through the problems the team has – we all know the problems. The big question is Wenger’s refusal to address them. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 12 years now and I’m fed up (and I’ve already boycotted buying kit for two years!). The only power we have as fans is to withold our custom -that’s it. Unfortunately, until the debt is paid off the current situation is unlikely to change because it’s too much of a financial risk to have a new manager come in and want to spend £100m on the team without any guarantees of proper success and a good chance of failure and more debt. The board likes the current situation because we’re guaranteed champions lge every year and therefore they can calculate when the debt will be paid off and plan accordingly. Trophies don’t really matter. This leaves us as fans right out in the cold paying top whack prices for mediocrity. To me the only option short of giving up the season ticket is to rent it out until things improve. If that means I’m disloyal then I don’t give a f*** because I’m a damn sight more committed than most of our team!

    I am completely against boycotting the Arsenal in any shape or form.

    As far as I’m concerned Wenger is the only man for the job at Arsenal. I think he has now realised that the mediocre players he has defended to the hilt will eventually cost him his job. It’s time for a change of transfer policy and personnel. Quite seriously Almunia, Diaby, Rosicky, Denilson, Squillaci, Fabianski, Eboue and Bendtner are not fit enough to play for Arsenal. I also have my doubts about our full backs; there’s no point having attacking full backs unless they are capable of crossing the ball.

    The major stumbling block is selling our mediocre players will raise very little money to reinvest in the squad and their contracts at Arsenal are far superior to what any potential new club would spend on these type of players. I like any fan would love to see the likes of Stekelenberg, Van Der Wiel, Baines, Cahill, Diarra and Benzema come to the club. But we all know its not going to happen unless we lose big name players like Fabregas or Nasri.

    It’s a crying shame that this experiment hasn’t worked. However, rather than persist with dead wood, I’d rather we started again, even if that means we go without winning something for a few more years.

    One thing however I think we should not stand for is seeing the mediocre players we have at the moment run out on to the pitch next season wearing a shirt they are and never will be worthy of wearing.

    I am a season ticket holder for all the Emirate years, family ticket holder for God knows how long at the old staduim, my dad started taking me late fifties, I went during the sixties when we were crap, seventies when we were good and crap, eigthies, mainly crap, if you think that I am going to give that up and go to the bottom of the waiting list you are mad!! What it means is that I regard myself as a true supporter, thick and thin not a plastic johnny come bloody lately!! Because of this I am as pissed off as you if not more so and am not happy the way the season has turned. I have my own views as to why, as we all have but please do not say we MUST boycott season tickets, it’s stupid. You do not say whether you are a season ticket holder, are you and if so, will you really be given it up? The shirt thing, again, that’s for the individule. I buy one now and again but what do you say to your son or daughter who want’s the new shirt, sorry I’m protesting, don’t think so but a better idea than the first. If only it were that simple……

    I just hope that Wenger has now seen enough of this and previous seasons and addresses the problems. Again, I have my views as to who should go, quite a few, and come in but that is yet another debate.

    On the booing. I still, after all these years have NEVER ever booed a player or performance, I do understand why some do and can understand Saturdays reaction, I just cannot do it myself, but I just hope that it gets through to the board, manager and players, hope they now realise something has to be done.

    This a great club, one that I am proud of, I want us to get back to being number one. I just do not agree with half of your idea and some of what I regard as stupid, angry and rash comments but would it not be a bloody boring world if we all DID agree so as long as we all want the same, carry on blogging!!!

    Wenger has transformed the club no doubt and its sad to say it but he has run his course and its time to become director of football or something. It’s true that we wouldnt be where we are or attracted some of the great players we have over the years if it werent for him.
    Get Guardiola in or dare I say it Mourinho.

    The board in my opinion are just going through the motions and raking in as much money as possible to reduce the debt and in the long run it will benefit the club but thats no consolation to supporters like me shelling out just under £1500 a year for our season ticket.     Well said Scribe. I’ve been watching the Arsenal for over fifdty years now and some of these comments are just pathetic. We are second in the league, we have a fantastic stadium and have consistently qualified for the Champions League…I fear for this club is the going does get tough because I know that a large percentage of our current fan base have either never know crap times (and boy have there been crap times) or are glory hunters persuaded by the Wenger Wonder years…..last Saturday was sh**e we all know that but don’t you reckon the players know it as well? As SAscribe says so succinctly get behind the team of F*** off….Chavski or the current temporary glory glory up the road at the Spuds might be just what you’re looking for…

    bendtner,diaby,denilson,chamakh,squlaci,almunia will not get in to any top 7 team in the world.why are they playing for arsenal i do not understand.the mnager and board should go out and replace these jokers with at least good players not with very good players. if wenger went and bought at least 3 world clss players he could have walk the league.i said this for last three years if he dosent buy he will win nothing.so far i have been spot on.

    The trouble is all the real supporters have left long ago. There are a few groups of old school still around but now mainly middle class fans with their Arsene Knows rubbish.
    Look around the ground now, large groups of students, office workers, women, Japenese tourists…and the ground is the quietest in the Premier League.
    They all sit there and say “Yeah Arsene knows”…4-0 up to 4-4, 2-0 up v Spurs and lose 2-3, a 42 year old back up goalie that was dropped in place of Spain’s 7th choice goalie over 3 years ago, Nicholas Bendtner who wanders around the pitch chewing his gum looking like a total knob jockey where once the great Thierry Henry once was.
    Denilson, Diaby, Song, Clichy, Rosicky …5 players who really should just give up football full stop (six if you include B52).
    Pat Rice (what does he do?) sitting there looking gormless all game saying nothing….. our manager waving his arms around frantically looking like a total fool….a team full of weak individuals with a weak minded manager…yeah Arsene knows.
    Five years in the ground and with relative small debt and they still won’t buy suitable players in key areas, never mind, £5 for a hotdog anyone?
    A PA system making you call the players surnames out like all fans are twelve years of age.
    “Can we have your £1000 by June 1st please?” No not this time, give it to Jeremy or Miles from Surrey, they can sit there reading their programme during the game next season in total silence with the same team yet again falling short.
