Gervinho was sent off after clashing with Joey Barton

Newcastle   0 - 0   Arsenal

Without Cesc and Nasri Arsenal were just toothless! It took 63mins for the sub Theo Walcott to test the N’Castle keeper with a effort on goal.

That was despite having most of the ball, passing it from side to side and then knocking in a cross to… Nobody #sameoldarsenal

The travailing Arsenal fans chanted “spend some f##king money” during and after the game! Not for the first time.

Wenger said on Friday that we have a big squad and didnt need to spend. but I’m sorry Arsene dont you know that quality is better than quantity.

Wenger only has himself to blame, He should of addressed all of the issues long before the season started. If we were going to sell Cesc and Nasri why wait till the season has started? Are we going to have time to replace them now and of course we are going to pay well over the odds because teams now know that we are going to have over £50m to spend.. But dont worry. I’m sure Mr Penny Pincher wont let us down and will bank all the profits..Again

Like I said a few weeks ago, its not going to be the last time you hear the fans boooo at Arsenal this season.

Its a shame, Arsene should have been remembered for all the great things he did and gone down as 1 of the greatest managers in history! But now he is going to be remembered as a clueless tightwad who refused to spend and address the teams weakness and put his own principles and values above the needs of the team.

Arsenal Ratings

Szczesny 8.5 : Confident and commanding, very good game.
Sagna 6.5 :Solid defensively but poor with his crossing. Same old!
Vermaelen 8.0 : Was great to see him back and showed just what we have been missing.
Koscielny 7.5 : Played very well and looks like he has been in the gym
Gibbs 7.0 : Played well, didnt put a foot wrong and looked good coming forward
Rosicky 6.5 : Started the game well but faded in the 2nd half, Not a Cesc or a Nasri thats for sure (Frimpong 85)
Ramsey 6.0 : Couldn’t get involved in the game and looked tired towards the end with his passing (Djourou 90+3)
Song 5.0 : Booked after his 6th foul in 45mins and then lucky not to see red for stamping on Barton. Apart from that, Did ok.
Arshavin 6.5 : Great pass to RVP in the first half but faded in the 2nd half (Walcott 61)
Van Persie 6.0 : No support, wasted our best chance with a poor first touch.
Gervinho 7.5 : Great pace and movement, disgusting final ball. And should of slapped Barton.

Off note : For the 2nd season in a row Mr Joey Barton got an Arsenal player to react and get sent off..Almost 3 with Song. The man is clearly an vile waste of skin. but our players need to wake up and smell the coffee and not take the bate.

Its going to be a long season.. and I hope, WENGERS LAST!!

SPENDSOMEF##KINGMONEY!!… Just like the fans have to “6%”…. and not just on kids who we might see in 2015…. PS : Gary Cahill scored a wondergoal today and looked the part! His price just went up!

wenge ris to blame. he has to be educating his players about barton.

  2. Rich says:

On our budget, Wenger has produced miracles, I’m not saying he hasn’t made mistakes, after all nobodys’ perfect, but please keep things in perspective.

  3. hmm says:

    Generous with Ramsey and Rosicky

  4. Ian says:

We played very well defensively today. Now our attacking play needs work. Gervinho needs to work on his passing speed and decisiveness. Overall our team looked distracted… A big signing is needed to boost the team.

  5. Brendan says:

Hi all, firstly I would like to say that Barton is the scum of English football, our defence (except sagna) looked very good today, vermaelen and koscielny looks like it could be a good partnership! Wenger needs to spend some money, now I know some people will disagree but we looked bereft of any creativity today, I thought arshavin was awful and rosicky was even worse, we need a player who can create, personally I think putting wilshere (when fit) in the fabregas position would do us the world of good! I just think we lacked incision and any kind of goal threat today, for all our possession we barely conjured up a fart, wenger must spend, end of.

  6. Exactly says:

FINALLY! Someone that thinks Wenger needs to go. everywhere I go people seem to think that Wenger is the messiah and has done so much on such a “tight budget”. Well, I’m sure Adebayor and Toure weren’t sold, Hleb wasn’t either. Add to that the fact he’s giving players such as Bendtner 50k a week if it really is our financial state, he’s the one to blame. He could have got Mata for 17m but he dallies now there’s no chance. That could have been and would have been the creativity and directness we were lacking. He HAS to go. No good will come of him staying and we MOST LIKELY won’t finish in the top 4 and WILL NOT win a trophy. The first is an educated guess that has more chance of happening that not, the 2nd is a fact.

  7. Sam says:

Same old Arsenal. Nothing has changed from May, apart from us not having the only real creative force in the team half way out the door. Wenger is a joke now. I’m sick of him, I’m sick of his face and his retarded Lego man haircut. I can’t even bear to listen to his tired scripted rhetoric anymore. We are heading for mid table. He will sell cesc and nasri and fail to replace them and bank the cash under it being in the best interest for the club. It’s just boring, every summer is the same. He sticks to his script of lies only to go back on his word and never admits it. I hope this is his last season at Arsenal. We have a great squad and a lot to thank him for, but every dog has his day and when your no longer fit to make the right decisions in the interest of the club and not your own abdurate crusade, then it’s time to hand over the reigns. Just to finish Barton is a disgrace, he should be serving somewhere at her majesty’s pleasure and no where near a football field, he’s a thug and a parasite and I’d like him to have an accident involving the removal of his lower extremities.

  8. guns says:

It makes no sense to be talking about the same thing week in week out and wonder what Arsene doing, someome should just shoot him rass, I don’t care anymore.

  9. toby says:

wenger is the most stupid manager i have ever seen in my life, GOD wat is that man doin in arsenal someboby should kil that BIG foul 4 me i hate wenger and anybody who is suportin him wit my life.

  10. supergunner14 says:

I fucking hate akb’s!hope u lot fuck off when arsehole goes.blind tests.spot on post!

  11. Joe says:

    Exactly…

Do you really think it is just Wenger?

Are you really so simple that you think when we go to negotiate with other clubs (a completely commercial arrangement) Wenger is sitting there saying, no, no too much????

Are you able to breathe and walk at the same time?

There are massive problems within this club but they do not begin and end with the Manager.

If we got rid of him and brought in someone who had the same spending restraints would you be happy?

  12. skins says:

They now call our club the company. They believe it is important to make money more than trophies. Will someone have the guts to spend cash and make us great.

  13. Oneniltothearsenal says:

If you put half the effort you use to b**** about the team into actually supporting them god knows what we could do. No one realizes that supporting your team is as important as any signing wenger makes. If those “fans” stood up and cheered their lungs out instead of b****ing they couldv lifted the team instead of put them down

  14. guy says:

    some odd ratings

song was our best mid, followed by rosicky. unfair ratings there

gibbs punted the ball to no one at least 3 times and couldnt handle the short passing.

arshavin deserves a 2……at best. he didnt make a successful pass all game from what i saw

gervinho, for all his good running looked clumsy in tight spaces and passed so slowly the fluency of the attack died. then you consider his final ball. which was diabolical.

  15. ryan says:

Keep things in perspective?? Did i hear that correctly? Lets recap, Out(Toure, Adebayor, Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy, Gallas) possibly in the realm of 120 million. In(Vermaelen, Gervinho, Squillaci, Koscienly, Chamakh, Jenkinson, Campbell, Chamberlain). Which group would you rather have? Then lets bring up the deadwood players, Denilson, Bendtner, Almunia, Eboue, Squillaci, Chamakh and very quite possibly Gervinho.

Considering we are one of the richest sports teams in the entire world, there is absolutely no reason for Wenger to spend like he does, other then the fact that he lines the pockets of the board, are all you Arsene lovers blind?? He is a good manager that had a spell of brilliance and that is that. SACK THE BASTARD!!!!!!

  16. Joe says:

    Ryan..

We ARENT one of the richest sports teams in the entire world, we may have a big turnover but we are also massively in debt.

We arent the only ones, look at what teams outside of City, United, Chelsea and Liverpool have spent this year. Even Sunderland have recouped and they still havent ruled out selling Gyan. It’s a shame we dont have a big backer but we dont. If you want to plead your case, let me point you in the direction of Dubai.

If you take out Nasri and Fab who OBVIOUSLY havent been sold yet, i’d take the second lot ahead of Toure, Ade etc.

In all honesty it reads like the post of a supporter of a team who havent finished above us for a decade and a half, Sp*rs by any chance?

  17. Chiedozie says:

It amuses me when I hear some Arsenal fans talk about Ramsey taking Cesc’s place. We could not create anything for more than 60 mins. Imagine Cesc in a game like this. If AW can’t see that there is no creativity in this Arsenal team, then he must be blind and dumb and should resign immediately before things get worse.

  18. Ritch says:

Well said Joe, too many fickle fans that either have short memories or haven’t been Arsenal fans for more than a few years getting all worked up over the first match of the season. Speculating about players contracted to other clubs just makes people sound like frustrated football manager players.

  19. Marc says:

Guys. Guys guys. When will you all learn WE don’t buy big NEVER have NEVER will.
We will not get top 4. BUT it it still the arsenal we all love. We can’t compete with the big spenders. Mony wins the league it’s just the way it is.
I love watching. Debating. Reading about even moaning about my beloved Arsenal amd I for one will continue paying for my season ticket.
    So everyone GET REAL!!!!!!

  20. Fevzi of Galatya says:

Folks. I think this site is so focused on negative energy that the comments sometimes are very unhelpful. God knows how much frustration Arsenal fans put up with and today was another good example of this. I thought the defence was pretty solid and it was really good to see Szczeny being so commanding in btw the sticks. Gervinhio showed some positive signs but he also showed some really clueless one too! In the 1st half there was only one team in it and it is not Wenger’s fault that RVP or our other two players missed 3 very good chances. Theo was awful when he came on. Who’s fault is this? Is it really Wenger’s? I actually thought there was contact with Gervinhio when he went down but Joey Barton deserves a BAFTA for going down quicker than a girl I met in Ibiza last year!
PS. I thought Gibbs looked really good and apart from Song’s stamp thought he was excellent.

  21. John says:

We are one defender away from a strong defensive unit. The problem is going forward we need more goalscorers simple. When you look to our bench do see players that can change the game. Ramsey I thought started well but faded arond 65 to 70 and Rosicky was hard working again. Ashavin wasted out best chances especially the two on one where his pass went straight to the defender. We need players who can stick the ball in the net that can come off the bench. Saying that with Fabregas and Nasri in the team early on at home against Newcastle last season we lost. We need money spent because the foundations are there but no back up Man Utd have Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov and Owen who all can score goals and thats not including Nani, Valencia, Young and Park. Take RVP, Walcott and Arshavin out the team we struggle to get goals and maybe add Gervinho & Ramsey to that with time. We need depth up front I have been saying that for sometime but people just focus on Goalkeeper and Defence which is just bollacks we now only have one weak link now in Squllaci. It’s up front where we struggle to score goals.

2 Weeks to go sign Cahill or Dann and then get experienced forward thinking players who can score goals. There is not a lot wrong with the team it’s the sqaud which is the problem.

  22. Bermy Boy says:

It is hard being an Arsenal fan!! Our manager is a great manager no doubt, however Arsenal’s transfer policy is totally delusional… When do we stop buying players that need developing? Stevie Wonder can see that we need Top Quality Ready Made Players that are able to do the job right now! Cesc and Nasri HAVE to be replace with players as talented or better and that has to happen now!!! Although our defence did good today we still need another top defender, because if something happens to Vermaelan, we are f**ked!!!! Arsenal needs to learn from their lessons and it doesn’t appear that Wenger and the board get’s it!! The lack of logical intent is embarrassing!! It has gotten so bad that even other club’s fans feel for us, or they are justifiably able to laugh at us… How could the club disregard the fans so much? How could they disregard the great club that Arsenal is? If we stick with this squad and don’t buy any Real Quality Players that are ready now, you can guarantee that we will not make top 4 and we will not win anything… Cesc and Nasri must’ve watched this game today shaking their heads, saying to themselves, “this is why i want to leave”… Arsenal, sadly to say, is becoming a joke!!! However, we are not as bad as it may seem… if we buy 3 TOP players we will be ok… Replace Nasri and Cesc with Mata and Eden Hazard and bring in Cahill, and i guarantee you we will be challenging for something!!! SPEND SOME F**KING MONEY!!!! Make us believe again Arsenal!!! And one last note: How come Arsenal have to put up with so many Blatant bad reffereeing! This isn’t a coincidence and an investigation needs to happen because it’s not fair!! Barton should’ve definitely been sent off!!! How do you go over to someone that you wasn’t even apart of the play, and literally grip his shirt with both hands and drag him up off the ground and shake him and totally provoke the whole situation and only get a yellow!!! Not to mention that our player got a red in his involvement of the instigated incident??!!

  23. Dan says:

Wengers needs to bite the bullet and buy cahill dann benzema and and sneijder and we need someone to replace song that guy got the IQ of a two year old

  24. eze says:

how can you give song 5.0. this ratings is crap

  25. Danish Gooner says:

As i said we will struggle to win any of our opening games, next up Pool and then Manure it could easily be 2 defeats and one draw in three that would mean relegation form.

  26. Danish Gooner says:

i havnt worked a day in football but i have been a football fan for nearly 30 years,i have seen some rubbish teams Arsenal and non Arsenal in my time but i have never ever seen a manager with such great potential turn in to such a dud in such short time.It is incredible how Arsene have turned a corner for the worse,he only had to tell himself that if we invest a bit of money in real talent we could win a championship or two.He failed twice in january 2008 and 2010 to strenghten a team that was on the cusp of something big and failed miserably. Now he have bleed this Arsenal squad right down to the core were no real talent is visible apart from a few players and he still expects us to challenge and keeps talking rubbish about our chances. It is EXCRUCIATING having to talk about the same flaws persisting as of FOUR seasons ago,is it not a great managers privillege to eradicate flaws??? And why does he keep avoiding the obvious flaws within the squad,to day we defended like lions but couldnt buy a goal at a goal show.I guarentee you that next week we cnat defend but score 5 or which is more likely and extremely worring,we cant defend and cant score.

  27. bob mcnabs cat says:

We will win fuck all whilst Wenger is at the healm!
