Exclusive breaking news from Turkey is that Arsenal have now agreed a €7 million deal with Fenerbahce for brazilan world cup winner and left back Andre Santos (28)
Santos is on route to London as we speak and will sign a 4 year contract after completing his medical.
Why has it taken so long for Arsenal to spend money this summer? Did it need us to finally get humiliated on grand scale for the club to spend money. Was it one final humiliation to far for Wenger to start spending money and change his policy. Is the board finally realising they need to back the manager, instead of dictating to Wenger how much a player is worth because of the financial restraints and make profit.

Great news if true. We all agree that Gibbs will be arsenals first choice soon but we need a quality left back while we wait for him to overcome his injuries. 7m sounds like a good price plus the experience. Good buy
Being turkish, and watching the turkish league regularly, I can say that Andre Santos is a good experienced player, would be a good addition to the squad. But bear in mind that the turkish media can be very sensationlist at times, so don’t 100% expect him to sign.
If this is true though would he be a starter? I wouldn’t think he would want to be a reserve behind a much younger player in Gibbs.

i can say that as i watch turkish league he is possibly the best left back in our league, he can attack better than clichy and gibbs thats for sure, he can also defend good as well.

i live in Istanbul and i am watching news on tv..ntvspor is saying it andre santos is going to arsenal football club.and he will be soon in London.I just want to say my opinion Andre Santos not so good player.Everybody in turkey was discussing Andre Santos about his game..
Seems very strange. Some says he is really good and some say he suck. Hard to believe anyone really. He is still prefered before Marcelo in Brazil so he cannot be useless? One thing is clear, he is better offensive than Bendtner and he cannot be worse than Traore.

he plays the game a very slow pace, good feet, smart mind, can be beatable if the striker is fast. He needs at least 3-4 months to be get in shape. He is NOT like Evra, so be ready for it.

Lets not overhype this guy into some kind of superstar. He’s a 28 year old, decent fullback from the Turkish league. Has no experience in a top league, and isn’t a regular starter for his national side. Still better than Traore though…
