Arsenal fans pay the highest prices in the land for what? The money is NOT invested back into the team and all that keeps happening is that the money is wasted on sub standard signings. Paying high wages on overrated players and bonuses for the likes of Ivan Gazidis.
Wenger says that we have to charge this high rate on tickets in order to compete? What is he taking about? We have not challenged or competed for honours in years. The only prize we compete for is a Champions League place, but in the eyes of Arsene that is a prize.
Wenger says that if the fans don’t agree with the prices then they shouldn’t come back. What a totally disrespectful thing to say to the fans who have been priced out of going to Arsenal and it shows what our manager has become. For years Arsene has looked at the club as a project and a business. He has way to much power within the club and his only job should be looking after the team on the pitch and the teamsheet and not the clubs balance sheet.
How do Arsenal get a maximum return without any investment. But selling the clubs best TWO players each summer and replacing them on the cheap or maybe not at all. By charging the loyal fans an arm and a leg for tickets and merchandise. By making the fans believe that they are getting value for money by playing great attacking football. And finally by making the fans think that the money will be invested back into the playing stuff with propaganda lies and spin.
It’s a sad fact that players like Van Persie, Nasri, Clichy etc did NOT leave for money but only because they wanted to win things and they saw that under this manager that was never going to happen.
Arsene ALLOWED Van Persie to join Manchester Utd, our so called rivals. Would Barca sell Messi to Real Madrid. And when Arsene contacted Sir Alex and asked about Nani, and when Arsenal contacted Barca about David Villa the answer was NO SALE. That is because other clubs do NOT sell good players without A) having a better replacement lined up, or B) sell to a rival team to strengthen them.
Arsene comments that he knew Van Persie would win Manchester Utd the league is a disgrace and every goal that Van Persie scores for Utd Wenger and the board should hang there heads in shame.
Arsene gave his usual spin before the transfer window about signings 1 0r 2 players and as normal the fans started dreaming and drawing up a list of players that might sign. But so far its pretty much the same as the last 3 transfer windows with nothing but lies and being let down.
But even when Arsene has dipped into the transfer market his judgement on players has become “jaded” Signings like Park, Gervinho, Santos, Chamakh, Sqil and rewarding the likes of Djourou on mega wages was NOT the work of the board. The tactics are NOT the work of the board. Asking Ramsey to play on the wing is another example of how clueless Wenger’s tactics have become.
Arsenal fans will tell me that it’s not Arsene. It’s the board. Well if that was correct and Arsene is this puppet being used by the board, why on earth has he not resigned? Why would a manager stay if he has no power and is being undermined by the board? Why would he stay if the board were selling his best players and not giving him money back to spend? … If this was all true I would have respected Arsene Wenger for walking away, but he didn’t. He works in partnership with the board and he is rewarded for this with a £7m a year wage.
I’m sick of what we have become. I’m starting to hate this club that I grew up loving and this is why we have to make a stand for the long term future of our club.
Its clear to me that this board and our manager only care about making a profit.
I suggest we ALL stop pumping money and invested into the club until we see a return on our investment. IE, when they start to spend then WE will start to spend.
Our fans need to sacrifice a few games for the future of this club.

at last an arsenal supporter who makes sense, i returned my season ticket last years cause i saw what was happening, some supporters are just to naive, wenger used to be a good manager but in the last few years he has undone that with his brand of philosophy that went out in the stone age. when we win you get certain supporters chanting in wenger we trust, when we lose where are they, wenger has sold our best players only to bring in replacements that are mediocore, walcott is not worth his contract but you are right supporters need to stand their ground and make some real noise unfourtunately most of them dont have balls

I stopped buying merchandise 2 years ago now and I withdrew my annual membership also at the start of this season. I do miss speaking to the guys at the Studio after matches and sharing some helpful banter with other callers too. However, what we’ve seen going on at the club year after year for the last several became too much for this forty years plus supporting Gunners fan !! What with flawed logic, broken promises and terrible management/board level decisions, I genuinely can take no more of watching Arsenal’s decent into mediocrity … Even young Jamie Redknapp on Sky accurately stated the following :

After yesterday hammering of AFC by ManCity, I woke up with high hopes to read that Wenger has been fired. Don’t worry after Saturday match it definitely happen. SWANSEA will beat AFC, on Wednesday and CHELSEA will also beat AFC on Saturday.
The football House has given Wenger chance to strengthen the Arsenal but he is not going to do so. Recall last time he deceived everybody saying Derby is back which he is doing now. Arsenal cannot finish 8th in the league this season with the current players. Pls. Walcot do not sign the papers if you want to play in Champion League. I refuse to give the club any more of my money after Wenger saying 4th place is a trophy. I gave up my season ticket last year. Yes it was painful but necessary. I can no longer continue to give my hard-earned money to a club that doesn’t care about it’s fans and core business of WINNING. I’m no longer buy any merchandise. I watch matches in a local independent pub, supporting a local business in the process.
My belief is that Wenger of towing the board’s line and trying to maximise profit in order to get his bonus every year. Finishing forth is NO TROPHY for me or any other fan. What exactly goes into the trophy cabinet each year we finish forth? I have nothing positive to say about their board. They care only for money/profit. I do not. My love for Arsenal will never end but I can’t continue to line the pockets of those who care for Arsenal second and profit first.

I have stopped buying Arsenal merchandise for some time now. Highest prices for mediocre players. We have to stand by our club though and there lies the problems. I feel the board have completely lost their way, I believe Nina Bracewell-Smith touched on this some time ago. One of the problems is that Gazidis and Wenger are both on high wages as are a lot of poor Arsenal players.
Please, would any normal company pay high wages to an individual who is not up to standard and would any productive company employee want to stay when he could earn better elsewhere?

I started to boycott about 3 seasons ago! I no longer go to games or buy merchandise. Why should i invest in a club that no longer wants to invest in itself! I understand what people might say about sticking with them through thick and thin but this thin is their own doing.
We were sold the dream! Our new stadium will allow us to compete with the best in europe, fail! Then it was we are building a team around youth and looking to the future, fail! The financial fair play will allow us to compete, fail!
With regards to signings it’s always ‘we are looking for exceptional players’ erm…… i don’t think i need to name players that we have bought!
2 things need to happen. Wenger needs to change his ways or go, and it’s a shame considering the greatness he has brought, but i feel that too many players don’t want to play for Arsenal or Arsene now. And secondly the board needs a change. I was unsure about Alisher Usminov but perhaps he would make a difference. I think the board don’t want him because they are afraid of being ousted and where will they then make their easy money from foolish football fans?!!

It is a pity that I am an overseas based fan of the club that has loyally supported the club since the days of Charlie George. If I were based in England I would have long organised a demostration against the board and manager to quit. It would seem the team managed to flourish in Wenger’s early days at the club only because George Graham had left a solid foundation of players. After Graham’s lot Wenger’s fortunes began to decline and he has no capacity whatsoever to get the club out of the mire it finds itself in. Wenger must go and go he must now if the team has to be a formidable force in England and Europe again.
Wenger has mismanaged the money he has been given for transfers over the last few years, he has spent almost £100M in the last two years on 12 players, some of which have not kicked a ball for the club (Joel Campbell) and some (Park) who has been dumped without kicking a ball too much for us at all, and some are reserve only (Eisfeld), and if everyone is fit several don’t get a look in(Gervinho, Jenkinson, Santos), Giroud and Oxlade-Chamberlain are mainly subs, so out of the 12 bought only Mertsacker, Arteta, Podolski and Cazorla are really first choice players,
then add in that Arshavin, Rosicky, Squillaci, Chamakh and Djourou and the injured Fabianski who are all listed in our 25 man squad have not one single FAPL start between them this season(some have not one minutes FAPL game time for us this season) and its a sad indictment of Arsene Wenger’s wastage of transfer funds and wages. Wenger has effectively reduced our 25 man squad to a 19 man squad, crazy management.
Lets not forget along with that near £100M spent on transfers we have a wage bill of £140M, which according to Wenger is spent to his specifications and wishes.
The board don’t stop Wenger buying better players, its up to him to identify better more costly players and maybe instead of buying 12 players of which he only trusts 4-6, he could have bought 8 he could use, maybe the reason why Arsene does not buy bigger is cos he knows if he gets a £25M signing or two wrong his job would be right on the line, but £40M – £50M wasted on four or five or six players puts much less pressure on him.
The Board don’t care if the £140M of wages is spent totally differently (as in top players getting £150K and squad men £20K, ) as long as wage bill remains stable
Wenger has lost his way, yesterday when we went down to 10 did anyone notice how he and bould just sat in their seats, one or both of them should have been up roaring and shouting at the team to gee them up, but no, both looked resigned to accepting defeat.

After 17 years, I am seriously considering not renewing my season ticket nexy season.
The fans must let Wenger know that they have a say in the club by avoiding the next three matches. That is the only way out and lets see if they will make the money again. Apart from Wilshere and Carzola all others are average players. God will never see others investing money in their squad and will not reward them.
I am in total agreement with this blog. Let me break it down for you. Arsene Wenger has been given free reign and immunity from being fired. The board has decided that as long as he makes them money, he can do what the hell he wants with the team, free of consequences. This has reached a level where arsene basically told fans to sod off (when he was asked about being booed). He actually can display arrogance when he is killing the team. I think Wenger is not the best Manager now for Asernal. Well the fans need quality output in terms of wins and not keeping his flops like Diaby,Squallch, Mourone Chamack etc . 5. Money is not the only motivating factor- so i should go where people want to win-trophy also

After yesterday hammering of AFC by ManCity, I woke up with high hopes to read that Wenger has been fired. Don’t worry after Saturday match it definitely happen. SWANSEA will beat AFC, on Wednesday and CHELSEA will also beat AFC on Saturday.
The football House has given Wenger chance to strengthen the Arsenal but he is not going to do so. Recall last time he deceived everybody saying Derby is back which he is doing now. Arsenal cannot finish 8th in the league this season with the current players. Pls. Walcot do not sign the papers if you want to play in Champion League. If Wenger does not bring back Song and RVP or their equivalent he sold, please ask him to sale you too or just walk away. It is very unfortunate he has tongue praised Jack into signing long team contract extension otherwise I would have suggested to him to leave now.
Wenger you see what we don’t see, go bring more jam bodi players and paid outrageous packages and peanuts to your quality players.
So we’re rubbish on the pitch. That’s not a good enough reason to boycott the club you supposed to love. I remember going through 18 years without winning the league and it not stopping me turning up week in week out.
Basically your throwing your toys out of the pram because we don’t have some dodgy sugar daddy stepping in and bankrolling us or the club is not being run in the same way as Leeds, Portsmouth or Glascow Rangers (have a look at their league positions).

I”ve been going to the games since 1974 & have had a season ticket for 27 years but I’m afraid that this is my last. I refuse to give the club any more of my money after Wenger saying 4th place is a trophy. For me that was the final nail in the coffin and an insult to the hundreds of thousands of Arsenal fans that have made this club what it is.

I gave up my season ticket last year. Yes it was painful but necessary. I can no longer continue to give my hard-earned money to a club that doesn’t care about it’s fans and core business of WINNING. I’m no longer buy any merchandise. I watch matches in a local independent pub, supporting a local business in the process.
My belief is that Wenger of towing the board’s line and trying to maximise profit in order to get his bonus every year. Finishing forth is NO TROPHY for me or any other fan. What exactly goes into the trophy cabinet each year we finish forth? I have nothing positive to say about their board. They care only for money/profit. I do not. My love for Arsenal will never end but I can’t continue to line the pockets of those who care for Arsenal second and profit first.

I have stopped buying Arsenal merchandise for some time now. Highest prices for mediocre players. We have to stand by our club though and there lies the problems. I feel the board have completely lost their way, I believe Nina Bracewell-Smith touched on this some time ago. One of the problems is that Gazidis and Wenger are both on high wages as are a lot of poor Arsenal players.
Please, would any normal company pay high wages to an individual who is not up to standard and would any productive company employee want to stay when he could earn better elsewhere?
The only way to stop Kronke who runs Arsenal as a business is to hit them in their deep pockets.
The alternative to this is for the club to be more open about its finances and making the fans appreciate where their money is going. I Feel this will not happen because of poor management.

I started to boycott about 3 seasons ago! I no longer go to games or buy merchandise. Why should i invest in a club that no longer wants to invest in itself! I understand what people might say about sticking with them through thick and thin but this thin is their own doing.
We were sold the dream! Our new stadium will allow us to compete with the best in europe, fail! Then it was we are building a team around youth and looking to the future, fail! The financial fair play will allow us to compete, fail!
With regards to signings it’s always ‘we are looking for exceptional players’ erm…… i don’t think i need to name players that we have bought!
2 things need to happen. Wenger needs to change his ways or go, and it’s a shame considering the greatness he has brought, but i feel that too many players don’t want to play for Arsenal or Arsene now. And secondly the board needs a change. I was unsure about Alisher Usminov but perhaps he would make a difference. I think the board don’t want him because they are afraid of being ousted and where will they then make their easy money from foolish football fans?!!

Boycotting games and merchandise is the best thing we can do for our club. It is possible that with a concerted effort form fans one time only that we could cut out the cancer that is Arsene Wenger from our club.
I dare to dream of Arsenal fans uniting for the good of the club and in 1 week he would be gone, more importantly gone in time for a real manager to come in and buy some players and maybe save our year.
Wengers list of crimes are many; frankly stupid transfer signings, no new signings, signing kids that may or may not become good players in 5 or 6 years time, wasting 97 million in the last 2 transfer windows and for what? Seriously, WTF did he think he was doing with the money???
His jealousy of Steve Bould makes me sick. When he spitefully snapped at a press conference when the improvement in defense was raised “It is not all him.” What, WHAT!?! Wenger hung on the coat tails of good players, this team has been going downhill for 8 years now, a time that coincides with the last of the players and coaching staff that were there before him leaving, coincidence? I don’t think so!
You are exactly right about Van Persie, Nasri, Clichy and their reasons for leaving but let’s go further back to Henri. Why do you think he left? Let me help you with that one, he left because he could see the direction Wenger was taking the club, he knew Wenger would ride him and the team into the ground like a dog, no investment, no effort to build a team around Henri, just content to watch purse strings and rely totally on one player, that is the Wenger way.

It is a pity that I am an overseas based fan of the club that has loyally supported the club since the days of Charlie George. If I were based in England I would have long organised a demostration against the board and manager to quit. It would seem the team managed to flourish in Wenger’s early days at the club only because George Graham had left a solid foundation of players. After Graham’s lot Wenger’s fortunes began to decline and he has no capacity whatsoever to get the club out of the mire it finds itself in. Wenger must go and go he must now if the team has to be a formidable force in England and Europe again.
Wenger has mismanaged the money he has been given for transfers over the last few years, he has spent almost £100M in the last two years on 12 players, some of which have not kicked a ball for the club (Joel Campbell) and some (Park) who has been dumped without kicking a ball too much for us at all, and some are reserve only (Eisfeld), and if everyone is fit several don’t get a look in(Gervinho, Jenkinson, Santos), Giroud and Oxlade-Chamberlain are mainly subs, so out of the 12 bought only Mertsacker, Arteta, Podolski and Cazorla are really first choice players,
then add in that Arshavin, Rosicky, Squillaci, Chamakh and Djourou and the injured Fabianski who are all listed in our 25 man squad have not one single FAPL start between them this season(some have not one minutes FAPL game time for us this season) and its a sad indictment of Arsene Wenger’s wastage of transfer funds and wages. Wenger has effectively reduced our 25 man squad to a 19 man squad, crazy management.
Lets not forget along with that near £100M spent on transfers we have a wage bill of £140M, which according to Wenger is spent to his specifications and wishes.
The board don’t stop Wenger buying better players, its up to him to identify better more costly players and maybe instead of buying 12 players of which he only trusts 4-6, he could have bought 8 he could use, maybe the reason why Arsene does not buy bigger is cos he knows if he gets a £25M signing or two wrong his job would be right on the line, but £40M – £50M wasted on four or five or six players puts much less pressure on him.
The Board don’t care if the £140M of wages is spent totally differently (as in top players getting £150K and squad men £20K, ) as long as wage bill remains stable
Wenger has lost his way, yesterday when we went down to 10 did anyone notice how he and bould just sat in their seats, one or both of them should have been up roaring and shouting at the team to gee them up, but no, both looked resigned to accepting defeat.
Wenger needs to go and let a new man with new ideas come in, someone who is not afraid to have a game plan to counter the opponents strong points instead of relying that we will play our game to its best and that this will be enough, someone who will alter formation, tactics, sub times, and stop this nonsense of hierarchy of selection that Wenger has always used
i have been telling people since 2008 that Wenger lost it all after Barca game in Paris in 2006. he changed the way he used to see things, his ambitions, creativity, vission and sense of direction. what i only remembered is his Monaco story and how he left. there is an english saying that history repeats it’s self. remember how he left Monaco six years without winning anything now it’s eight years down the road what do you expect?. i think he should try somewhere but here he has crippled our team.
I totally agree with your comments and believe that Arsene should take his fair shareof the blame responsible for the demise of Arsenal as a football club. Arsene’s contempt for the fans is disgraceful, he’s clearly here for the money!. I live for the day he leaves our club! I am a season ticket holder so whether I go or not, they still have my money. After 17 years, I am seriously considering not renewing my season ticket nexy season.
The fans must let Wenger know that they have a say in the club by avoiding the next three matches. That is the only way out and lets see if they will make the money again. Apart from Wilshere and Carzola all others are average players. God will never see others investing money in their squad and will not reward them.
I am in total agreement with this blog. Let me break it down for you. Arsene Wenger has been given free reign and immunity from being fired. The board has decided that as long as he makes them money, he can do what the hell he wants with the team, free of consequences. This has reached a level where arsene basically told fans to sod off (when he was asked about being booed). He actually can display arrogance when he is killing the team. Its time to show him that we matter and without us, they can’t do sh*t. A boycott would force them to do what we want!!!
I think Wenger is not the best Manager now for Asernal. Well the fans need quality output in terms of wins and not keeping his flops like Diaby,Squallch, Mourone Chamack etc . 1. Fans should not turn up for the game if they do not want- arrogance
2. Buy cheap sell highly and do not replace- is he interested in winning any silverware?

4. To me about only 4 players know that they need to win
5. Money is not the only motivating factor- so i should go where people want to win-trophy also
6. Wenger’s substitution sometimes put me off

The only reason you all have high expectations is because of where Wenger has brought the club.
