Bellerin’s agent alleviates supporters’ fears of a summer exit

Hector Bellerin’s agent Albert Botines has claimed he’s yet to receive any offers for the Arsenal defender, amid rumours Manchester United and Juventus could lodge bids to procure his signature this summer, reports The S*n.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates after falling out with supporters and having an argument with manager Arsene Wenger. Reports emerged Arsenal were considering selling him for £50m to Juventus to fund a summer spree, but Botines says no offers have come in for Bellerin yet.

He told Italian radio station CRC: “There’s no contact for Bellerin, no-one has sought me out. He’s happy, he’s recently renewed and he’s playing consistently. It’s true that every player always wants to grow, but right now it’s difficult [to see him leaving].

“If the Azzurri were interested in some of my clients I would listen, because – just like Juventus – Napoli are not only a great team in Italy but also now in Europe. Every summer there is interest from clubs but Arsenal have not made me aware that any offers have arrived.”

Selling Bellerin would be a lose-lose situation for Arsenal. The Spanish international may have made enemies of Arsenal Fan TV for his previous comments made, but the majority of supporters are keen for him to stay.

He’s been the London club since 2011 and was viewed as the Premier League’s best right-back in 2016. Bellerin’s form has been inconsistent ever since but he’s still young and developing.

Selling such a promising talent goes completely against Arsene Wenger’s mantra and would hint at a return to the ‘selling club’ days where bigger European sides regularly poached their best talents.

Bellerin’s agent says there’s been no bids as of yet, but that could change when the season comes to a close.
