To be honest I don't see where he went wrong. If he'd touched it he wouldn't have kept it out anyway. The only thing you could probably blame him for is not positioning the wall a bit better. People are blaming him too for the first goal that he went down too early....that's just nitpicking. He went low because he expected Park to try to tuck it under him. As for the third, he was left stranded by his backline. He made some good saves in the game too that kept the scores down, like the save from Rooney's shot and the tip over the bar from the shot from out wide by Anderson (I think).

am i reading that post CORRECTLY jason?

FUCKS SAKE.

the cunt keeps us in the tie single handedly and you're saying he's let us down???

maybe if the rest of the fucking team pulled their fingers out, or if wenger bought someone to shore up our excuse for defensive cover almunia wouldnt have to make these saves.

fuck....what do you want him to do? single handedly win the game

*shakes head* utterly ridiculous

The rest of the team?

The keeper should not get beat from 40 yards

And like Justin said, This is not the first time Almunia has been beaten like that. Bentley scored from 60 yards didnt he. YES Almunia had a good first game, but he was poor in the 2nd. So he is 50/50.

You never know what Almunia is going to show up

you cant expect him to always single handedly hold teams.

maybe our backline should learn to defend?

Here's a thought I had today. Many are saying we should ditch Almunia and get a world class keeper in. Now if Almunia's not world class, who is? I'm sure everyone's gonna say the obvious....Casillas and Buffon. Yes sure they are but who else? Reina? van der Sar? Landreau? Hildebrand? Julio Cesar? You're telling me that Almunia's not on par with these other keepers?
