Arsenal will not be moving for Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac, despite their wish to sign cover for injured Robin van Persie.

The France forward is not deemed to be up to Arsenal's high standards, so boss Arsene Wenger has the unusual problem of plenty of money but no players of sufficient quality to spend it on.

Edin Dzeko is valued at £35million by German champions Wolfsburg and AC Milan officials met the Bosnian player's representatives in Sarajevo last week.

Marouane Chamakh, a free agent this summer, remains Wenger's first choice but Bordeaux are reluctant to sell.

He sounds like an expensive drink and looks like he loves his grub. Seems to know where the goal is.

I watched this guy in 2-3 last games and not that I am impressed or something, but he has something,he could be very good player in the future, and when he become one and when he develops well then we can buy him,not before that!

Gignac was crap against Ireland in the infamous "Hand of Henry" game, but I suppose the whole French team was poor that day. That's the only time i have seen him play.

He would fit in well. He has a lot of strength and he has skill passing the ball too, which would benefit us if he was playing our central role. other than than, he is an excellent finisher. I have been to many games in France due to familuy and often travelling there, and I have been impressed with him since last season.

He will perform much better at Arsenal than at Toulouse, and yes, he did not have a great game against Ireland, but France were simply rubbish to be fair....

I have seen him a couple of times and seems like a strong and capable striker ... however at his price tag he is just out of reach for us. Arsenability 0/10

Yeah apparently Lyon couldn't get him for 20 million pounds, but they are a rival club afterall.
