A player of Fabregas' talent and ability is always going to be the central memeber of any squad. This is a stupid article, basically saying teams struggle without their best players. My God! How did you figure that one out?

Fabrgeas is probably at a stage where he is going to be coming into his own in the next year or two as the best player in the world. Its like saying, take Ronaldo out of Man U, and look how they miss him. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realise that teams rely on the talent of their best players....

Cesc has shown in the 2 games he has returned how key he is to us.

in both games he has scored and had assists. And with that he has dominated the game in the middle of the pitch.

Its simply, If Cesc plays well, Arsenal play well and win

Its not really a bad thing .. United now rely on Rooney . Everton for me rely on Cahill ... Some say Spurs rely on Lennon .. Liverpool rely on Gerrard (More than Torres) .. Chelsea rely on Drogba .. Every team has its focal point . But its not like without it we would fall apart . We won 3-0 at Hull without Cesc . We won at West ham I think without him too ... We won theg game before Hull too I think .. We can win .. We won 4-2 at Pompey too

I don't know if we're TOO reliant on Cesc. But I fancy our chances coming back in a game more with him. He's our fire and passion.

He also keeps his head pretty well now. He used to lose his cool a bit. I think he is becoming a very good captain. Most of you might have remembered I was an advocate of the eventual captaincy for Vermaelen, but I think Cesc is really developing into the role. He does his talking with his performances, rather than is mouth. He leads the way in that regard.

Exactly why he is captain.

Well said.

Every team is reliant on their captain to some point arn't they? Isn't that why they are made captain ? cause they are one of the best/most influencal players ?

I agree with the general sentiment in this thread. At the moment, Cesc is probably the best midfielder in the league. Any team with somebody that talented will miss them when they are out. That is a good thing though, not a bad thing, I would rather we have a world class player who we miss when he doesn't play, rather than no world class player.

yeah I've come to realize that that is simply how Cesc leads - by example. He is going to push up field and lead the way; he is going to track back and defend if he has to and lead the way. He isn't vocal like the way we wish he would be (in a Tony Adams way) but I've finally seen the captain in Cesc come out. maybe it was in this thread or somewhere else that I read that he was taking such pleasure in football now after his injury last year and I think that's really changed him and the way he handles the captaincy role.

All the clubs have someone who is a little bit more special than the rest of the players.

Liverpool - Garrard and lately Torres
Manutd - C.Ronaldo and Rooney
Chelsea - Terry and Drogba,
Arsenal - Perise and Cesc

The liverpool game was the worst that i have ever seen cesc play. It was almost like his mind was not on the game. Gave the ball away so many times. And what was he doing at the end? Giving away free kicks and almost a pen?

Personally i would not care if we sold cesc in the summer
