i would like to think that sacking Wenger would be the answer but our not winning trophies or hanging on to fourth spot started when we lost DAVID dein from the board and has now come to roost

The missing link at Arsenal is David Dein, the best executive in football and the man to keep Wenger pointing in the right direction and guiding him through the transfer jungle.

Its not surprise to me that things took a turn for the worst when Dein quit the club.

since then our transfer dealings have been a joke. Bring back Dein NOW

We just need someone that'll bully clubs in to letting us have their players. Unfortunately Dein already picked his side and unluckily for him Usy's now broke.

It's virtually impossible to ever imagine Dein coming back. He's part of Red and White holdings (Usmanov) which means unless Kroenke lures him back once he takes complete control, it will never happen. And it wont ever happen!

David Dein was a class act and he was the man who forced the rest of the board to gamble of Arsene Wenger who was unknown in England as a manager.

Remember the headlines "Arsene Who "

Dein overlooked the transfers of players and advised Wenger on contracts of players and did all the paperwork and for me was the best in the game.

The reason dein walked away from Arsenal was due to the fact he felt the club needed outside investment to be able to compete with the other top clubs,Dein was removed from the Arsenal board for bringing in Stan kroeneke, who has since been courted by the board and greeted with open arms after Peter Hill-Wood first said "We didn't want his type at Arsenal" I find it very odd that Dein wanted Kroenke in the rest of the board didn't, and now Kroenke is the biggest shareholder at Arsenal.

The board changed there minds about kroenke only after Usmanov came to the table, So in everything Dein has been proved RIGHT!

Dein felt we needed to find extra spending power to compete with Chelase , Man Utd and now Man City.

It is hard to say he isn't being proven right.

Just look at what happened since Dein walked, Players leaving on free transfers like Flamini, Missing out on countless transfers, won nothing since 2005.

And what has Ivan Gazidis done? apart from giving the media a few interviews and signing injury prone Rosicky and Eduardo on new contract extensions.

David Dein was Mr Arsenal, And Wenger is missing his right hand man and its showing.

This summer Arsenal FC need to do everything they can to bring Mr Dein back to Arsenal and then we will see the glory days return.

Now that he doesn't hold shares I don't see him coming back as an individual.

Kroenke has many sports teams which would make me question his commitment to Arsenal and if anything were to happen and he had to sell assets how could we be sure we weren't it. And as for Usmanov all the Russians lost a lot of money in the global economic crisis. Even if he bought us he'd have to lay out something like half his wealth and thats just buying the shares, nevermind investment in transfers and paying off debts.

David Dein was Mr Arsenal, he knew all the Arsenal employees from cleaner to groundsman by their first names. He used to stop and chat with all of them.
He was one of the reasons why players signed for Arsenal, He use to do all the hardwork. And on his days off he he use to go and watch the reseves games. He had the vision to see that the club needed investment and in everything that has happend since he has been proved right and the board wrong. I hope when Kroenke takes over he finds a place for Mr Dein
