The next opposing DMF to play well against us would do for some people

Difficult question, as Arsene now clearly sees Song as his first choice one DMF and I don't blame him on Songs performances this year. I wasn't a fan - infact I was convinced he was e - but I've seen him add parts to his game and grow at quite a rate this term. This means AW will HAVE to bring in somebody who'll be an understudy to Song, which practically rules out all the players of genuine class like Toulalan and Matuidi who I'd have liked if Song was still e. The improvement in Song has created a bit of problem tbh. I honestly don't know what player out there fits the bill now.

I'll say this, though: Cana wouldn't have come to Arsenal to sit behind ANYONE, and on this seasons form so far, Cana couldn't clean Songs boots.

Sorry lads but what is Wenger doing playing a 19 year old right back in CM vs a team like Bolton?

I feel sorry for Eastmond. He looked so weak today. Why not give Francis Coquelin or Emmanuel Frimpong a chance? They are DM and not right backs.

Just shows what a good job Song is doing. But its poor that we only have one player in the team who can do this job

Eastmond is now a defensive midfielder by the looks of it, thats where he has been playing all season in the reserves and the Carling Cup.

To be honest, I am a little surprised that he has overtaken both Coquelin and Frimpong in the pecking order, as last season they both looked like better prospects. Wenger gets to see all three of them every week though, so I guess we have to trust his judgement on this one.

I personally think he had a decent game today though, he gave the ball away a few times and looked a little raw but it was his Premier League debut afterall. Overall I would say that he looks promising though.

As for Song, I agree that we are missing him alot. I didn't like him at all for a long time but he has really proved me wrong and become a key member of the team this season. I think we are a little unlucky that both he and Denilson are unavailable at the same time though, Eastmond is quite good for a third choice in that position and has the potential to get a lot better if given games.

I can't see us bringing in a defensive midfielder personally. They would have to be happy with a position as Song's backup and apart from promising youngsters, I don't think any players of real quality would be happy with that. And we already have three promising young defensive midfielders in Eastmond, Coquelin & Frimpong so that isn't likely either.

Cameroon won earlier so they live to fight another day. With a bit of luck they'll lose to Gabon next Song will come home.

Denilson could be back after our home game with Bolton, so no real need tp lump all the pressure on Eastmond just yet. I wouldn't want to go into the game agaainst Man Utd with him in DMF.

I really hope Denilson (and maybe even Song are back soon), although I quite like Eastmond I would be worried about him if he was starting going it that hard run of games starting at Villa. I still don't think we should panick buy a player just for the sakes of a few games though. I guess all we can do is cross our fingers about Denilson and stick pins into voodoo dolls with Cameroon shirts on.

A player of Veloso's quality wouldn't come to sit on the bench behind Song, and rightly so. We would end up with a Real Madrid situation, because he would consider himself worthy of the starting place and get pissed off. And he would porbably be right in feeling that way.

I think eastmond has played ok, but again was surprised that coqlien didnt play. But imo unless Song develops even more I still think we could need another DM
