People seem happy with Chamakh, but there is something that reall bothers me about a striker who struggles to score. We have enough players who can set each other up, in my opinion; we don't need to sign a tall guy who can nod it down but can't put it in the net,

I agree .. I don't claim I can judge him yet but I watched him in the CL against Olympiakpos and he was invisible ... He might be the next best thing but gooners were hyping out Arsha and Nasri before they came and they called them all sorts of nick names but now they slate them if they performed one bad game .. so lets not get carried away with the whole Chamack saga

Chamakh is a no brainer. As soon as he signs that contract he is £10million worth of asset. If he's good we benefit, if he's not up to scratch we sell him. I doubt he is Wenger's first choice striker, and if he had a £13million price tag I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be signing him over other targets. But with van Persie as first choice we don't necessarily need the best striker in the world.

We need to get rid of Eduardo, Vela therfore we need to sign one or two players. I would personally go for Niang and Chamakh.

Chamakh can play on the wings, which means Nasri can move into midfield. Vela can also play on the left, so I see no need to get rid of him. Dudu though, I, unfortunately, see no future for.

RW: Chamakh, Theo
CF: Robin, Nik
LW: Andrey, Tomas, Vela

Chamakh can also play CF and Nasri can be moved onto the wings if necessary. Knowing Tomas, Theo and Robin's injury record, we will struggle without a presence to put away chances. Which is why we need depth up front and Chamakh would be a good signing.

This way, we will never have to (hopefully) see NIk B on the wings again.

Nooooooooo! So we're already compromising on him and playing him out of position already? Before he's even put pen to paper on a contract?? If this is the case, definately DEFINATELY don't buy him.

I don't want another lumbering Bendtner on the wing.

Don't take him on for the sake of it; if he's playing for us he shouldn't be playing as a makeshift right wing for f##k sake. If he is, we don't need him.

He's played on the wings before, he's experienced, he has pace and we play total football. He is not a Bendtner.

Your right, he is not a Bendtner. Bendtner is twice the footballer Chamakh is. Look at the stats, they don't lie.

MAROUANE CHAMAKH VS NICKLAS BENDTNER

Marouane Chamakh scores a goal exactly every 3.95 matches - in LIGUE 1 (3.9577)
Nicklas Bendtner scores a goal exactly every 3.54 matches - in the PREMIER LEAGUE (3.543)

Bendtner:

This season, Bendtner has scored a goal every 2.44 games.
He has either scored a goal or given an assist every 1.57 games.
Nicklas Bendtner also provides 1 assist for every 2.2 goals.

Chamakh:

This season, Chamakh has scored a goal every 2.92 games.
He scores a goal or provides an assist every 2.71 games.
Chamakh has provided ONLY 1 ASSIST THIS SEASON (supposedly great at setting others up....)

In UEFA CL:
Chamakh has scored three goals in 7 appearances, averaging a goal every 2.33 games.
Bendtner has scored four goals in 3 appearances, averaging 1.33 goals a game.

International:
Chamakh has played 53 senior games for Morocco, scoring 15 goals - average of 1 goal/3.66 matches
Bendtner has played 32 senior games for Denmark, scoring 11 goals - average of 1 goal/2.90 matches

I'm sorry to everybody who has been supporting Chamakh under completely false pretences, but you are KIDDING yourselves but there is simply NOTHING which identifies him as being a better striking prospect than Bendtner; who is 5 years younger, too.

People come out with grand statements like
He's played on the wings before, he's experienced, he has pace and we play total football. He is not a Bendtner.

Well now you've seen an honest assesment for yourselves. Perhaps he needs to be more like Bendtner. All Chamakh is living on right now is a well edited youtube video, of which I'm sure there are a few for Bendtner.

As they say, the truth can hurt.
