Hleb Wanted Arsenal Return/Wenger Burns Bridges

John Cross of The Mirror wrote:Former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb is desperate to return to the Premier League - and has put Manchester City and Aston Villa on red alert.

Hleb, 28, quit Arsenal 18 months ago but was loaned out to Stuttgart this summer after failing to win a regular place at Barcelona.

The Spanish giants are now ready to sell Hleb this summer - and the Belarus midfielder admits he is keen to return to England.

Hleb said: “The chances for me to stay at Stuttgart next season are zero. Barcelona will decide my future and I am open to any option. But I have shown at Arsenal that I can play in England and enjoy the Premier League.”

Ironically, Hleb quit Arsenal for Barcelona in 2008 for £12million after claiming he was homesick and did not like London.

But just six months later, Hleb wrote to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, insisting he had made a mistake and pleading for another chance.

But Arsenal did not act upon Hleb’s pleas and it appears he has burnt his bridges and yet Barcelona claim there has been interest from English clubs as they look to offload him this summer for around £8m.

Manchester City already have Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure and another ex-Arsenal player in Sylvinho and are desperate for top quality players this summer.

Barcelona also claim Villa are keen and a source said there has been “serious interest“ from English clubs. Barcelona may even consider another loan deal for next season if they cannot strike a permanent deal.

We already have Nasri on the left side of midfield and Arshavin on the left side of attack. Dunno why he thought he could come back here and have a spot in the team. He didn't work out down the right side either as he's a left sided player. Glad Wenger ignored his letter.

What's hilarious is the claimed he didn't know London was such a busy, hectic city before moving there. WTF? What planet did he used to live on to not know that? He claimed he went to Barcelona because he wanted to live in a quieter, more relaxed city.

that's stupid hehe!I advise him to go to live on Mars,it's very quiet there, true there is no oxygen on that planet but anyway I don't think he'll need it there cause I am pretty sure his brain isn't getting any oxygen now so he can live without

I know Nasri had a broken leg at the start of the season, and he's needed time, but he's hardly contributed whenever he's played this season. One thing we got from Hleb was honest endeavor - another thing was his ability to beat a man and CREATE. Nasri hasn't done anything like that at all for us this season so far. If Hleb had played the same amount of games as Nasri has for us this season, he'd have made a far bigger impact on the team - no question there.

I'm not saying I'd like to see Hleb back at Nasris expense, but I'm pretty damn sure that for all Nasris undoubted talent, it is Hleb that is more suited to our game and the EPL in general.

To be fair to Hleb he wasn't being played to the best of his potential by Wenger. He's a right footed winger that was being played on the right side. At Stuttgart before he came to Arsenal he was played on the left and it allowed him to cut in and shoot more with his stronger right foot. At Arsenal he was always played on the right and it saw him do mostly dribbing in the game and whenever he cut in his shots were always wasted as they were usually on his weaker left foot. As such he got the name Dribbly McNoscore.

That's right, and wasnt Rosicky being used on the left much of the time in his final year? Strange and ,yes, wasted.

I dont wanna suddenly start bigging up Hleb, but he was probably the best dribbler I can remember at Arsenal. I was glad to see the back of him at the time because of the unsavoury rumours, his bullcrap excuses to leave and his lack of goals, but I'd swap him for Nasri until the end of the season!

i consider Arsen Wenger as a father of any player already played in Arsenal .. so i hope think to call for hleb again im sure he will be ready just 4 Arsenal .. and he learnt from the lesson be4 .. henry and hleb and flamini are a hope 4 me to back to Arsenal .. and especially we have a lot of injuries so let them fight 4 their places at arsenal and that will make a competition between players and in same time will help arsenal to conserve their player Fabrigas after the return of hleb and flamini his friends .. that's my opinion .
