To be honest I think the less English players in the Arsenal team the better.

There's too much media attention on players if they're English. If they do really well and make the international set up there's all the constant attention around irrelevant things they do in their daily lives. If they're signed for a substantial amount of money, especially at a young age, they get compared to some England great from the past and if they don't live up to the expectation they get flogged in the media constantly.

Well, I can't argue with that. I think I'm correct in saying that the only time in the past 3 or 4 seasons that we played more than 3 Englishmen in the starting lineup was when we lost 3-1 at Stoke which says it all really......

I'd probably kill myself ... Having to choose between Nasri , Theo , Arshavin , Diaby , Rosicky , Vela , Ramsey , Denilson , Cesc , Nick , RVP , Dudu .. The numerous players we have .. The enormous talent we have .. I wouldn't last a day

Funny how the whole ' Arsenal aren't English enough ' / ' Arsenal killing England ' sheight is nowhere to be seen when we're getting beaten, eh?

It's fine if Johnny foreigner and his mates are getting their arses kicked, but as soon as we look like doing well or beat Man Utd/Chelsea it all flares up again. Not heard any of it for a long time now - not that it ever bothered me. It's an argument that's so easily put to bed and settled, that even the xenophobic gutter press seem to have crawled back under their rocks on the issue.
