Well done wenger for signing yet another crap CB

There's no evidence to suggest that he's crap. Don't tell me you're already writing him off based on two fitness games.

Vs the mighty paul furlong...A 40 year old at Barnet he looked weak and got beaten in the air countless times.

Whats drogba going to do with him

Dude the match wasn't about performances or scorelines. All the match was about was getting the players match fit. Did you notice we put out 10 players from our reserves? If the match was about performances why would that have happened. This is what I can't stand about Arsenal fans. You look for anything for a reason to complain when there's no need to. Quite frankly it's F##king ridiculous. I get the feeling that you do know that the Barnet game was meaningless but maybe you're just trying to be controversial now.

I can think about him now whatever I want,I can only believe my own eyes so I want to see him in some real action and then to judge him...we will have to wait that

LOL

If your serious, you're a joke.

But yeah, these games mean nothing lol. Id wait till the emirates cup to judge him. Right now its all about fitness and getting rid of the rust. Espeacially vermealen, the guy has barely walked through the door.

God morgon (pron: gomorron) as we say in Sweden!

My 1st post

I thought that he did as well as could be expected in new surroundings. With better players around him and against better opposition, he will improve better. Positioning WAS a tad suspect though

Welcome to the forum gunner9131

All i am saying is that Vermaelan is not the type of CB we needed.

We need a big powerful player like Vidic and Vermaelan is more of a LB then a CB

Hi

I'm Belgian and a fan of Arsenal and Thomas Vermaelen.

I hope he'll succeed here. I know he's already 23 years old but I think he still has a high progression margin. Don't get me wrong, he's already a more than decent defender but you'll probably see a much better defender at the end of this season.
I also believe that CB is his best position. He can also play LB (in the Belgian national team) but to me, he's a real CB.

I was also wondering: Is Vermaelen the first Belgian player ever at Arsenal?
