Skysports.com understands Bolton Wanderers are set to win the chase to sign Arsenal teenager Jack Wilshere on loan.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the midfielder is poised to clinch a temporary move away from Emirates Stadium within the next 48 hours.

The Gunners boss is keen for the England Under-21 international to be playing regular first-team football, with Wilshere having made just one appearance in the Premier League this season.

Burnley and West Ham United have been linked with the 18-year-old, but it is understood that Wilshere will opt for a switch to the Reebok Stadium.

New Bolton boss Owen Coyle has been a long-term fan of Wilshere and confirmed an interest in the highly-rated schemer during his time in charge at Burnley.

He also acknowledged last week that he is still keen on a deal and Wilshere now looks set to link up with the Trotters for the second half of the campaign.

If Wilshere joins Bolton he will become Coyle's third signing since taking charge after Vladimir Weiss arrived on loan from Manchester City and USA international midfielder Stuart Holden was brought in on a free transfer.

I find it absurd if he does go with the thin squad we have :/ but on the other hand he'd hopefully get 1st team football and toughen up in a bolton side

I hope he goes somewhere else if only because I want Stuart Holden to play.

I hope they play him. Thats the main thing. He needs to get minutes on the pitch. If he doesn't he would of been better off training with us for the rest of the season.

"In just seven days...I can make yoooou, a maaaan!"

No but seriosuly, probably do him a world of good to stop being treated like a prince. I read an interview once of a few of the England U-17s, particularly Wilshere and Jonjo Shelvey who plays for Sheffield United. Wilshere admitted that the youth players had chores, they had to, "Look after one of the first-teamers boots,'' keep them clean and such. Shelvey then revealed that youth teamers at Sheffield were responsible for picking up rubbish around the stadium, scrubbing and cleaning the boot rooms and cleaning the bathrooms....

EDIT: I also just hope Robinson doesn't eat him.

What was the point of him going to Bolton?

They dont play football and he is not going to learn anything from them vile scumbags.

Ohhh and i thought the idea of going on loan was to give him some playing time. He was on the bench last week and didnt get on all game ?
