not exactly reliable sources. But i will shut up if it actually comes true. The fact Capello keeps defending him and wants him for the World Cup shows he knows something.

Might be the catalyst for England's World Cup dream.

For god sake I can really feel this one coming true.... And we desperately need signings in other areas.

Since when did we become an impoverished vulture club living off free transfer scraps?

Wait and see time.

Joe Cole is a gun, regardless of how old he is.

if he's available for FREE and his wages aren't TOO high...then why the f##k not?????

one year contract, what would be to lose?

we would have two new players, without having actually spent TRANSFER money...suer, wages we'd have spent, but not transfer funds.

not only is joe a good player, but hes a WINNER, and hes got experience...we need that.

People moan when Wenger doesn't sign players and then when there is a story that he may sign joe cole who imo is a very good player who can win you a game, you moan because it isn't in the right areas. It doesn't matter cause it's free so it isn't like Wenger is spending money elsewhere. It will add depth to the squad which is good isn't it? seeing as we moan about our lack of depth and having to rely on unexperienced players. Well if we sign cole that experience in midfield could be what makes the difference. Seems like a no brainer to me.

^ That is a good point. Just getting the depth and experience, will be great, and honestly he can't be much worse than Rosicky was last season.

Can we speculate that any players who appear on the club website's 'Transfer Linked' segment are not going to come, and possibly those that are linked and don't appear on the list are actually being looked at by the club?

If so, Joe Cole might well be coming. He's been heavily linked for the last week us but he still isn't popping up on the club website.

That theory has been put around enough now so even if it's true I think Arsenal.com would have wisened to it and linked players we were going for too. They said that theory about Koscielny and a few days after the links with him they put him up there as if to cover it up.

And I don't think Joe Cole has properly been linked with us, he's linked with any club looking for a player, wheras players like Schwarzer are allegedly "Arsenal-only" targets. It just feels like he is "too" Chelsea, too West Ham or too Harry Redknapp to play for us, although Sol was Mr Spurs and we still love him

If that was true, then that explains why both Cole and Gourcuff showed up on Arsenal.com today. I hope they have not been rubber stamped as not coming to Arsenal, like the previous ones.
