I'm putting that balloon in my fantasy team next week.
I want them to keep Rafa so that they continue to spend loads on average players and never win the Premier League. Better still, he can go and manage Man Utd when fergie leaves
How the hell did they manage to win the champions League so many times???
Let me tell you something about them. All the cups they've won this decade, except the FA Cup in 2001, they've stolen.
When they beat Boringham in the Worthington Cup in 2001 Boringham were robbed a penalty late on and they scraped through on Penalties to win it. When they won the UEFA Cup that same season against Alves, Alves had a player unfairly sent off when Cesspool were leading 4-1 and Alves were down to 10 men and managed to fight back to take the game to 4-4 and then lost it in Extra Time.
In 2005 they cheated their way to Istanbul and cheated in Istanbul as well. They played Juventus in the Quarterfinals and Del Piero was robbed a perfectly legit goal which was deemed offside. They won that game at Anfield 2-1. The return leg in Turin ended 0-0 and they went through. They went on to play Chelsea and they robbed them at Anfield when pressured the ref into giving a goal by claiming Gallas cleared the ball from behind the line when the hawkeye technology showed the ball definitely did not cross. They went to Istanbul and in their "magnificent comeback" (gimme a F##king break) they got a penalty after that cheating, diving thug Gerrard threw himself down in the box to earn a penalty. Don't forget how during the shootout at the end of the game Dudek came off his line early 3 times and saved two of Milan's penalties.
A year later they played West Ham in the FA Cup and they struggled to keep West Ham under control all game and at 3-3 it went to penalties too and Reina came off his line early twice and denied two West Ham players. Ferdinand and I forgot who the other was but both their shots were saved when Reina came off his line early and they won the FA Cup.
It's something Fatfa Benitez trains his keepers to do. Reina did the same exact thing only a season later in the Champions League Semi Finals against Chelsea when it went to shootouts.
When Sevilla won their 2nd UEFA Cup they won on penalties and Andres Palop did the same exact thing by coming off his line early to stop the penalties and they won the cup. Andres Palop played for Valencia and was their backup keeper in the time of Fatfa Benitez' regime at the Mestalla. Coincidence? I think not!
