Man City

I don't think it will be easy for any manager at City. This is a tough league, and how many superstars want to join a team that isn't in the Champions league? Having said that, with their current squad they could still make the top 4 if they get their act together.

Who would have thought, City's manager sacked because they are 6th in the league after 17 games?! Their best ever finish in the premier league was 8th in 04/05.

To many the decision was hasty and Hughes should have been given more time but the league is tough and its all about winning and personally Hughes didn't even have his starting XI fixed and even a formation i noticed he likes to change formations it alot. Mancini would do okay but only the next day tells what he might achieve.

OUTRAGED Manchester City stars confronted chief executive Gary Cook over the sacking of Mark Hughes and the £10million appointment of Roberto Mancini.

Craig Bellamy and Shay Given led a six-man delegation after axed Hughes made an emotional dressing speech telling them he was being replaced by the former Inter Milan boss.

I think there are more reasons for Liverpool to sack Rafa then Man.city to sack Hughes but who cares anyway...

This s a big mistake in my opinion. City are not that far off the top 4 and every team this season has has shock results just look at liverpool and United. The thing is replacing him with a Hiddink, Mourinho or someone like that then far enough but come on Mancini ?? He has less experience then Hughes so what makes the board think he is going to do a better job ?

Shawcross is SCUM!

Former Marseille and Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini looks set to leave AC Milan on loan to spend the rest of the season at Manchester City, according to Sky Sports News.

The combative French enforcer moved to the San Siro giants at the start of last season after his contract at Arsenal ended and he became a free agent. Pinpointed by City boss Roberto Mancini as another useful Serie A recruit it looks as though the Italian could snap up Flamini on a short-term loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

A versatile player who spent notable spells at both left-back and central midfield at Highbury and the Emirates, it has been in an unfamiliar right-back position which Milan manager Leonardo has utilised the 25-year-old to good effect.

Fighting for inclusion in Raymond Domenech’s World Cup squad it is thought that Flamini, like City new boy Patrick Vieira, is desperate to secure a run of first team football in the second half of the season.

Flamini formed a fruitful partnership with Cesc Fabregas, Alexandre Hleb and Tomas Rosicky during the 2006-2007 season in an Arsenal side which challenged both Chelsea and Manchester United for the title.

Should Roberto Mancini complete the signing of the French international it would take the number of former Arsene Wenger charges at Eastlands to six with Patrick Vieira, Brazilian Sylvinho, Ivorian Kolo Toure, Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor and reserve keeper Stuart Taylor all also on the books at City.

Well shock horror it seems that Sky Sprts News were more premature than a 14year old in his mums knicker draw

AC Milan have stressed that, for the time being, there has been no official offer from Manchester City for Mathieu Flamini.

It was understood earlier on Tuesday that the midfielder was poised to move to Eastlands on loan until the end of the season.

However, Milan have now responded by saying that there has been no formal approach as yet for the former Arsenal player.

"We have heard rumours regarding possible interest from Manchester City for Flamini," said Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida.

"But for the time being, there has been no official offer, interest or talks between AC Milan and Manchester City.

"Flamini is an AC Milan player."

The 25-year-old Frenchman is under contract at Milan until June 2012 but speculation about his future has increased in recent weeks as he has fallen down the pecking order under Leonardo.

He will hope to play more regularly during the second half of the campaign to boost his chances of going to the World Cup.

Whether City manager Roberto Mancini steps up his interest remains to be seen but Flamini is a proven performer in the Premier League after becoming a key figure during his time with Arsenal.
