Mmmmmmmmmmmmm......................I like the 3 up top u have chosen fella, I like alot!
Walcott & Lennon periodically swapping wings would undoubtedly cause any opponent big big problems & the pace? Oh the pace! If it ever came off those 2 with Rooney feeding off of em could wreek more damage than Hurricane Katrina!
Cant see Capello playing both of em together though, shame cos it might just work.
4-3-3 is a possibity though.
My preferred choice with your above formation would be..................
James

Carragher - Ferdinand - Terry - A.Cole

Gerrard - Huddlestone - Lampard

Walcott - Rooney - Lennon

It would be interesting, very interesting!

Walcott is he won't start for England. Even Joe Cole deserves the start over him. I'd only play Lennon in a 442. He's all about beating the man and the cross. If England win the world cup it will be because of Lennon and Rooney IMO. Valencia and Nani have been giving him that service all season. I hope Lennon gets the chance to shine because on his day he is as good as any player in that position.

What's irritating is it's clearly going to be Crouch or Heskey partnering Rooney rather than Lampard or Gerrard. All Liverpool's success over the past 5 years has been due to Gerrard playing that positon, and Chelsea have always played at their best when Lampard played off Drogba, rather than an Anelka-Drogba partnership, but somehow Crouch or Heskey get the spot regardless of form.

I think the winner of the World Cup will play a variation of 4-3-3/4-5-1, as it probably is the best formation around at the moment. If England play that, you could allow Lampard and Gerrard to play together and perhaps provide the creative influence that Walcott and Lennon may not be able to at time. Reason I put Joe Cole in there as a possibility is that Walcott and Lennon may be too similar and their play end up being too one dimensional.

Personally, I don't like Carragher at CB, and will like him even less at RB. Someone better at going forward is needed but still solid defensively - because Walcott isn't. Johnson isn't ideal but he's the best England have IMO.

King is the best defender England have, it's a shame that he can't stay fit. I'd have him in my team in an ideal world but as it is, it doesn't seem likely. I'm wouldn't be comfortable with Terry - Ferdinand though.

I know Huddlestone has come on this season, but I still don't think he's ready for England. If Hargreaves had played in the last two years, he would be their best bet. I know Carrick has had a season, but he has the ability and I'd take a punt.
