Alex Song started his career as a LB I believe. At least that's what was going around when he first signed for us.

Cant imagine him playing left back, far to bulky and slow to play left back..How long has he been at Arsenal now ?

Its about time some of these young players have started to show abit of progress though to be honest.

Denilson,Song,Diaby are for a few seasons with us,I think this could be their season,if they don't show anything in this season they never will!so far I can only say they have started this season very well

and i remember 2-3 years ago i was saying he had something, that arsene wouldnt keep him for no reason, and hes showing it now. song is good YOUNG DM, and hes only going to get better, we've got a player on our hands here.

Bendtner also deserves a mention as he is working harder and getting better also

One of the players who impressed the most in the first two games of the season for Arsenal is definitely Alex Song. Manager Arsene Wenger declared he always knew the Cameroon International would do well one day, when he signed him at the age of 17.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game against Portsmouth at the Emirates, the first official home game of the season for the Gunners, the Frenchman said:

I was always confident Song would pop up in this [central midfield] position, or at centre-back.

I brought him here aged 17 and worked very hard with him, we worked hard because I felt he had the talent to become a good player. I know that the opinions are changing about him now.

He had to swim a little bit against the stream, and he did that very well.
