You think Eboue is a stunning right back because he plays in 20% of the games, while Sagna has not been as good as he has previously and has made some mistakes.

When you make Eboue first choice and he plays 30 league games a season and makes defensive errors (because he will...guaranteed) you'll be crying out for the solidity of Sagna, "why are we leaving the mighty Sagna on the bench and playing this clown?!?!?!". This time last year the tune on this forum was he's not good enough we need to sell him with only a handful of people saying he is backup and he's pretty good for backup.

I like them both, don't mind which of them plays, but I'm sick of people wanting to hate on Sagna when he really hasn't been that bad, and having delusions of how wonderful a player Eboue is, and then having the cheek to say that we could do better than Sagna. In 2008 when we played a system that suited his play he was PL right back of the year, and honestly that year probably world right back of the year. Even when our season started to crumble, he was still one of our top performers. Maybe it's confidence or something... I don't know, but Vidic has been this year, doesn't stop him being one of the most desirable pieces of centre back in world football.

I don't hate Sagna, Craigie, and can appreciate what he brings to the team. However, I've now had enough time to come to the conclusion that for all he brings, Eboue would prove to be the better option in a side so F##king HELL BENT ON USING ATTACKING FULL-BACKS... as we are.

I arrived at this conclusion by asking myself the following questions:

1) Who is the better defender? Most believe Sagna is, although I'm not sure why IMO.

2) Who is the better attacker? No brainer. Eboue by a distance.

Conclusion: Is Sagna a better defender - if at all - than Eboue is an attacker? For me, a resounding NO!

So little comes from Sagnas side that he is, infact, a liability in defence as well as attack, by way of being absent from his first job (defending) with no product to show or justification for being past the halfway line other than to not play strikers onside. Yes, he's THAT bad.

Eboue, for all his alleged short comings defensively, cuts inside and commits defenders more in one game than Sagna will in half a season. We are an attacking side that relys on scoring goals and NOT clean sheets, which means we have to play to our strengths. It's not as if Sagna is a tower of defensive strength ffs, or installs great confidence in that position.

Therefore its a total no brainer as to who should be our regular RB. Without question.

Sagna needs to know that there are parts of his game that he needs to work on. He is a very good, solid RB of Arsenal quality, but Eboue deserved his chance.

He wasn't as gung-ho as he normally is when he comes on as a sub, but then he didn't need to be, and gave a measured display with no real frills. Still done more offensively than Sagna would in 10 games.

My season ticket seat is right next to where the Arsenal right back is in the first half. This season and last I've been at uni and haven't been able to attend as much as I would like but in 2006/07 I had a good look at Eboue and in 2007/08 I saw Sagna a lot.

I always liked Eboue and still do but the difference was amazing. The number of stupid goals we conceded down our right side in 2006/07 was ridiculous. The next season Sagna made a huge difference and I think it was very big reason for our improvement in form. He is streets ahead of Eboue defensively. Sagna might not be as effective going forward but that is secondary to full backs.

This season we haven't been conceding goals down Sagna's side at all really. I like Clichy but I think he is prone to mistakes (similarly to Eboue was) and he should be the full backs that is in danger of being dropped.

Lets give Eboue a shot, despite those points, Delicate Balance. He may have made vast improvements in his game in a bid to make the first team, so I think he should be given his chance. If he still has the same faults I will accept that, but he's pretty much been training and been second choice for 3 years, so he needs to be given the chance to show if he has improved his overall game.

The first two Chelsea Goals at Home spring to mind .. They both came from the right side !! He is very limited ... And Eboue isn't as bad defensively

I think we are lucky to have two very good right backs competing for a starting bearth. For the past two seasons I would have said Sagna every time but now its a lot closer. I don't tink Sagna's gotten any worse as such but he's at a level similar to when he arrived, if not sligtly below, whilst Eboue has really improved in the last 12 months.

Its one of those situations where I'm equally happy for either to be in the starting 11, though perhaps a lean towards Sagna away from home.

Eboue was world class vs Sunderland at RB. Set up the goal and was our best attacking player
