Sagna is still a better defender, the good thing is that we have two class RB.

I think the 'Sagna is a better defender' line is almost a myth. It seems to have become true by popular belief, really. Its difficult, when you think about it, to truly distinguish anything between the two players defensive capabilities.

Absolutely.

The power of suggestion, when used in repetition, can be quite a powerful thing!. I almost joined that church at one point but my love for the King Of RB's pulled me through. I wonder if we can do the same with Bendtner?

I think the opposite. Talking Sagna down so much is convincing people that Eboue is great.

Sagna has never had catastrophies on the scale of Eboue. There have been times when Eboue playing has been similar in fans hearts to having Fabianski play now. He was the most hated player at this club.

A few times this season Eboue has just fallen over. No challenge just fallen, slipped, whatever. Never seen it mentioned. If Sagna fell over this season it would be "useless C##t can't even stand up properly".

Both are good, neither are great in the current system. Don't mind which one plays. I do think Sagna is the better defender. In terms of pure defending, I think he makes better tackles and is better in the air defensively. His positioning has been off a lot this season though which is a worry.

I think Eboue is the better football player, that's why he can play makeshift right wing while Sagna can't. I think Eboue deserves a run of games even if it's just to give Sagna a kick up the arse.

got to agree there.

even if sagna is a marginally better defender (IF) then eboue more than makes up for it with his attacking ability.
especially when we have a big man like Nic playing upfront, it offers us another avenue for atack and another dangerous player the opposition has to worry about

I don't think Sagna has been talked down. I think his limitations in attack are there for all to see; even his supporters would agree. People had this impression that Sagna was 'great', which was far more of an exaggeration, IMO[/quote]

There we go with these 'suggestions' ! What 'catastrophies' ? When? Eboue was hated when Wenger inexplicably kept using Eboue at RMF, and someties even on the left! He got booed and we know all about that. He was a RB being played out of position by his manager and suffered for it. He now has the Emirates 'faithful' eating out of the palm of his hand!

He probably dived, Craigie! As for Sagna, there's been plenty to moan about this season, without him having to fall over! He's been a complete pain in the arse and a constant thorn in our sides as an attacking unit. Wenger has finally seen the truth....it seems.

Here we go with this 'Sagnas the better defender' stuff! It's a myth. Infact, I'll try and destroy the myth for you.

Knowing full well how ineffective Sagna is in the final third, coupled with our suspect defending, how vulnerable do you think Sagnas fruitless and predictable raids forward makes us? We can only lose when he goes forward, and he puts pressure on covering defenders to boot! It's a lose lose situation. He's NOT any better defensively IMO, and judging by what I've seen of him so far. He's been caught out on loads of occasions in high profile games this season.

Eboue's NOT a right winger. He's CRAP on the wing. It was when he was played on the wing that the home fans turned on him. Sagna, on the other hand, has never been used on the right wing! One of Wengers faults, for me, is this crazy notion that Eboue can play ANYWHERE else other than at RB, when he's stank at every other positon he's tried him in. All it does is destry his confidence. Wenger was solely responsible for what happened with Eboue at the Emirates last season. He almost destroyed him, and weaker men wouldn't have come back, or worse still, left the club. Wenger has handled Eboue APPALLINGLY, and is only now realising it, I reckon.

But the thing is, when, other than now, was Eboue last given a chance to show what he can do? He's only 26, and people were writing him off pretty much. Whats the point in keeping him if the general consensus was that he would never improve? Well, in my opinion, he has improved tremendously, and his performances in recent weeks show that he is more than deserving of a place ahead of Sagna on form alone.

To say he had a calamatous game a year ago, or two years ago, is ridiculous really. He clearly has been striving to improve whilst Sagna has not. Even more points in his favour, I believe. He is showing he wants it.
