   I have increasingly felt Barcelona are trying to get Cesc on the cheap, not very flattering to him. They see financially straitened times ahead and rushed to do this deal before the money runs out. They are desperate. It may well be now or never for Cesc because they won’t be able to afford him next year. Whether Cesc should want to be there in such a climate is the question.

   Barcelona have shown their level of contempt for not just Arsenal, but also for the rules that exist to ensure that the sports guidelines and rules are observed.     The behaviour of the FC Barcelona board and some of their players during this off season has been dispicable. Particularly during the World Cup, including the celebrations of the final itself. Some of Spain’s Barcelona players, including the captain should be ashamed of themselves and their actions in what should have been the highlight of their careers. Francesc Fabregas has been humilated and no football club, let alone a club of Arsenal’s class and stature should be subjected to the unprofessional and arrogent behaviour of Barca’s most prominent stars and directors. Neither the club, nor the player should have been left undefended by FIFA. This behaviour must be punished in order to prevent further unsettling of players. These farces could also result in a damage to the relationship of the victim and to his fans, who may believe he has lowered himself to reveling in the acts. This is unsporting behaviour and to use the term “gamesmanship” would be an understatement, especially on such a high profile stage as the World Cup Final. To use this occasion as a chance to remove the player from his current employment is shameful.

    Quite frankly, the behaviour of Barcelona has been nothing short of disgusting! The constant public pursuit of Fabregas, despite Arsenal FC turning down their so far single offer, and bluntly telling them to not bother again, is tantamount to tapping up! They have no scrubles whatsoever!

    They are a club who so shameless and unscrupulous that they don’t deserve any of the esteem accorded to them! They claimed early on in this saga, that they would respect the view of Arsenal FC as the player is contracted to the club. What hollow and empty words!

    The Barcelona administrators and their players – who I think they use to unsettle players, with their incessant media statements – are so lacking in respect for other clubs that they should already have been censured by FIFA or UEFA, but we can’t expect much from these hypocritical organisations, can we?

    For years I have respected your club, your values, your players, your football. I rejoiced when the Spanish national team, comprising so many wonderful Barcelona talents, won the world cup.

    And Arsenal Football Club are not saints in the transfer market either.

    However, I have yet to see my club, Arsenal, ever wage a campaign in the press in an attempt to force another club to release one of their players.

    I have yet to see my great club, Arsenal, ever publicly and privately try to alienate a player from his fans, his manager and his club and cause only anger and resentment.

    I have yet to see the players, chairman and other officials of my club, Arsenal, publicly state repeatedly that a player under contract with another club will be coming to Arsenal, that it’s only a matter of time, etc.

    A club like yours should have more class and show more respect. Arsenal have never behaved this way. Arsenal Football Club have every reason to publicly denounce you and lodge an official complaint with the football authorities against your conduct but have not done so.

    Throughout this public campaign of yours to generate only anger and hostility from one of England’s top clubs, you have demonstrated absolutely no respect, dignity, grace or class.

    Thank god the world cup is over ~ instead of watching our arsenal captain celebrating a world cup medal, we Arsenal fans,not to mention the Real Madrid fans have have been shown total disrespect by Barcelona’s management team and the players, I am totally embarassed for Cesc, he was basically raped by his thugish so callled team mates, and could hardly get the shirt off quick enough.     what I am hoping right now is the Catalonia is granted independence…La Liga has already stated in that case Barca or any other Catalan club will not be allowed to stay in La Liga…that will mean Barca playing in a poor league, which in medum term will bring down the TV income and in LT the quality of football just as it happend with Red Star…

The manner and extreme comments that have been potraied in the media through the Barca players is a disgrace to football and shows how the “Worlds’ Largest Clubs” have a lack of respect for the rules and transfer regulations. To state in public repeatedly the interest for a certain player is not only unsettling but also a form of harassment. The intial £29.5 million bid was turned away respectfully and hastily with a firm message that the young skipper was not for sale yet not only was he mobbed by a pair of Barca drunkens he had forced upon him a item of clothing against hes’ will.
