Its only time before Dzeko goes on to a bigger club. I thought he was just a one season hit but this season is proving to be quite consistent.

this season he is about 80% player he was last year, but under Felix Magath he has improved a lot and he knew how to guide him properly in his development, but this season Magath has left Wolfsburg and new manager isn't that good as Magath is,new manager don't have Magath's philosophy which is excellent, just look what he has done with Schalke in period of 6 months!I think under guidance of Arsene Wenger in aproximately 2 years Dzeko would become definitely No.1 striker in Europe but, that is the movie we wont watch, and we know why...it's not just bout Dzeko,it's about all players who we missed in the market, the money is problem always and I hate that kind of philosophy,I tried to analyze that problem from every possible aspect and I couldn't find any reason which could justify our transfer policy and activity!first of all, constantly we are buying and investing in youth department and we put all our hopes in that but in same time we have only one player from youth department in first eleven and that's Song, and even about him our opinions are divided!the main explanation for our policy is keeping financial status of the club in good shape, but nobody is saying nothing about all risk that we are taking on our backs, cause what if we lose champions league spot?what then?what about sponsorship contracts etc..?we didn't lose nothing so far thanx to God but we are risking a lot,and we need to invest to keep as secured,so AW dig out your wallet and buy a quality striker, buy dm or cb,make our defense stronger then it is now, cause with the success the profit will come also!!!how much you invest that much you get in return

I think a good way to look at it is, whilst buying some quality but pricey players to augment the squad, we are making an investment, not merely throwing money away. Their return if we have one good season will pay themselves off pretty much.

well said mate,I have language barrier and couldn't say that better myself and that's my point whole time,if you invest in quality-the quality will repay itself!for example, buy some player like Sagna for small money and than don't wonder how he cant have single good crossing in a game!we are improvising and improvisation will get us one day!you can't manage and guide champions league club and be cheap

Course you can...Wenger has proved that in recent years, before the money we paid for Arshavin, Wiltord was the highest transfer fee at 13m, so its literally nothing compared to what clubs are throwing at players in recent years.

All this thought of throwing 20m at players who are unproven in the premiership makes me think of Reyes..

I don't know about you,but as I am concerned we don't have to play EPL just to be forth at the end,if we don't have ambition higher than that and to win something then we can be on position no.10 or 15 next 20 seasons,it doesn't matter then I will still support Arsenal but it is not fair to us,our opinion should be important cause at the end this club is existing cause of us,not cause of the Wenger or Board

We dont play to finish 4th every season, and yes i see your point that we should be aiming further and pushing the other teams abit more than we have been doing in recent years, but looking at the league table this year we are certainly going the right way about things imo.

Signing players who are unproven in the premierleague isnt going to make us a better side over night, it takes months for the players to settles when moving from other countrys, and sometimes they dont even settle then, Reyes for example.

Yes our opinion is very important, but when it comes to signing players i trust wenger will make the right choice.

sorry mate but you are not right here, let me remember you we signed a player from croatian league for big money and his only reference was that he scored 40 goals in croatian league but in same time Dzeko has scored more than 50 goals in all competitions,in bundesliga, champions league etc..and that still isn't better recommendation than Eduardo's 40 goals in croatian league?as I know Wenger is buying every year only unproven players!if you say you trust him and it is hard for players to adapt on EPL than I wonder why is he buying only unproven players every year, isn't that the harder way than?no logic to me

Damir, Wenger signed Eduardo because he thought he could score goals for Arsenal and compliment the way Arsenal play. Clearly, Wenger does not look at scoring records for club or country when deciding who to buy, as we would never have signed Henry, Reyes, Bendtner, RVP, Vela, Walcott, etc etc (the list goes on forever), so comparing Eduardos and Dzekos records in their respective leagues as an indication of who would be most likely to succeed in the EPL is clearly not Wengers logic and is also a dangerous way to evalute a player before signing them.

The question Wenger asks before signing any player is always: How will they fit in and compliment Arsenal?

I agree with that, but he also asks one more question: "can I get him on the cheap?" and if the answer is no he doesn't buy.
