   Stop being so pathetic. The season hasn’t even stated yet and you’ve written it off. By most standards Wenger has done a fantastic job keeoing us in the champions league despite having no money. Yes we are all frustrated by no new goal keeper anbd the lack of a 4th centre half but there is still 2 weeks when Wenger does most of his signings. I think we will get a centre half (Saphic) but maybe no goalkeeper. Despite what you say we do have a chance this time. Stay cheerful!

   Did you see the celebrations of the 4th placed team last season?

   Liverpool lost 1 player ( alonso) and finished 7th last season, the year before we lost hleb, gilberto, flamini, rosicky (injured), edu (injured), replaced withj youth players and still got top 4 and 2 semi finals.

    Let’s look at some facts when talking about Arsenal, Spurs, City, Liverpool and Villa in recent years.
    Who has qualified 11 seasons in a row for the CL?
    Who finished in the top two teams 8 out of 14 seasons whilst Wenger was in charge, and in the top 4 for the remainder of those years?
    Who has had a 49 unbeaten run in the league in recent years (and won the title during it)?

    Add to that a new 60,000 stadium, manageable debt, the best young English players coming through the system, a Champions league final in 2006, English ownership, the best laid football pitch in the league every year, the most exciting football to watch, etc. etc…….

    Take a wake up call, and go and do something else with your time…internet blogging is not your strong point.

    I honestly think that if we do well this year and win a trophy or two you will be gutted, as you wont be able to slate Wenger. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I do not expect everyone to agree with mine, but you have very little of a constructive nature to say, you just seem to have a real hatred of Wenger.
    When the team is doing badly, I bet you’re the first with the boos rather than willing the team on.
    You just can’t appreciate what has been done over the last 13 years with such a limited budget, you are so blinkered.
    I am not one of the AKB brigade, as you so enjoy labelling everyone who dissagrees with your ridiculously narrow minded views (I hated the way we went out of the FA cup last season and with the team he put out), I totally agree we need AT LEAST 1 CB and definitely a GK, but £18m for Jagielka is a joke and the transfer window is still open, he can still sign someone. You need to take a step back so you can see what a difference he has bought to this club. We have so many young players coming through that in another 5 yrs time we will be unstoppable and we wont be a billion in debt, we will be debt free, with half the England team being from Arsenal (yes, I really do believe this – you just have to read about the players 2-3 years younger than Wilshire).
    You have been spoilt by how well we did in the first 8 years he was here.
    You really do make me chuckle, but it’s time to grow up little boy and take all things into consideration before spouting off.

    So, you won’t include Song because he plays as DM, but you’ve included Corluka (has pretty much always played at RB for Spurs) and Woodgate (who’s very unlikely to make the 25 man squad). You’ve also included Richards (primarily a right back), Onouha (on loan at Sunderland), Kompany (who’s primarily been employed as a DM) and Boateng (who’s been signed as a full back). You have however made one glaring omission, Kolo Toure.

    You kind of have to do one or the other. You can’t include players out of position for other clubs and then not include our lot.

    Since the defence AW inherited evaporated he has won nothing. He is a great tactician. Coaches midfielders and forwards really well but clearly knows little about defence. I fear that if he is to buy it will be last minute to get the price down, a bargain! Hoping that we will have enough firepower to get us through, barring Liverpool the easy, on paper, games before the window closes. However as results showed last season, Wigan 3-2 the prime example, there are no easy games. Will he buy anyone at all? I think possibly Schwarzer, maybe Saphic….probably no one and another noble 4th will come our way…didn’t he do well? He did once.

    It is completely and utterly inconceivable that even the most ardent “AKB” cannot see that we are unable to compete as a club with Vermaelen,Koncielny,Djouou and Norvelt as our only Centre Back options combined with the Chuckle Brothers in goal-Song cannot be considered as an option whilst he remains as our only decent defensive midfielder
    If the club was financially in the same state as Portsmouth then we could say that this was understandable but it is not; and this situation has therefore become an accident waiting to happen! This is nothing short of negligent mismanagement on every level and is in my mind a far greater crime than that of George Graham being caught with his hands in the till. I’m not talking about spending untold fortunes but simply making sure that players are purchased where needed within the squad.As poor as Senderos and Sylvestre were-they still have to be replaced!

    Wow. Not only have you made up a story out of practically nothing but you’re also manipulating numbers to try and prove a point again.

    You’ve completely left out Chelsea, title favourites and probably our biggest “rivals” because their centre back situation isn’t amazing at the moment and doesn’t help the point.

    You’ve not put in Song who is not used as a centre back but can play there while you could say the same of others there like Corluka.

    You’ve also added in players like Smalling who are unproven young backup players while completely ignoring Nortdveit from our list. If Nordtveit played for Fulham he would’ve been good enough to have the same opportunities that Smalling had.

    I agree we need more depth in defence and in goal, but it’s not like Wenger & Arsenal have not been trying. We have had bids rejected for Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Pepe Reina and Mark Shwazer. I think we need some patience, because the intent is their hopefully we will still get a quality defender and goal keeper before the deadliine.

    Er, while you are right that we need another centre back, you clearly didn’t actually watch the press conference. He was simply asked about whether he would sign a new contract and he answered. The idea that he brought up signing a new contract to deflect attention just doesn’t square with what actually happened. The fact that the media then made it the big story of the press conference was their choice.

    If you care enough about Arsenal to write a blog about it, I’d have thought you’d at least watch the press conferences!

    if wenger is so worried about balancing the books and saving money then why dosnt he take a wage discount last time i checked he was the top paid manager in the epl. the thing that is frustrating is the fact that arsenal have had the potential to be a fantastic team that could win trophies for the past 5 yrs. but we are always that 2 to 3 players short. nobody is asking wenger to go out and splash out on overrated players. given looks likely to leave city we could get him on the cheap. and why did wenger not buy a player like jerome boateng he only cost 10 million. there are good players out there that you can get on the cheap. wenger needs to do is spend 20 million on the defence and then we will have a team that will win things. 20 mill in the football world is like 2 quid to us so he is hardly breaking the bank. wenger needs david dein back he seems to be the one that pushed for money to be made available for transfers and he definitely would have got us the much needed gk and cb’s 5 yrs ago.

    Yes yes and yes! Aresne wenger is a smart enough guuy in psychology to understand what he does and when he does it. That is a term in psychology called a deflection. By doing this he allows himself to be asserted for the futuring with many fans calling him the best signing of the season. Well if he is going to get of the bench and start playing CB then he would, but we would still be short of 1 CB. He also seems to think the fans just want big signings with big wages; i speak for most when i say i don’t want robinio or yaya toure at this club i want his philosphy to suceed, youth to the top but to do this you need back up for all your positons and if you want to challenege for the PL and The CL you need players who can step up and be world class. Not djourou (no offence), densilion (offence), clichy, diaby, bednther and vela. Who might be great championship players but are not suitable for this team. He needs to invest; maybe not big but atleast to strengthen his squad. Liverpool, chelsea and man utd have all made signing in the poistions while promtong their youth (johhny evans, sturgidge, warnock). Sinbad i don’t know if you write all these articles but you have my backing from all these fans that think the club is succeding by just competing in the CL. Keep writing son.
