Wenger Out :Wenger refuses to spend on players. Instead Wenger has awarded mediocre/injury prone crap players with long term lucrative contracts. and now he is sticking to his guns and playings this crazy 4-5-1 that clearly isnt working. In Arsene we rust.

i know a huge majority of fans have turned against arsene, and yes i know if he was manager of any of the other big teams hed be gone by now. but lets just take a step back a moment to look at what arsene has given this club, before arsene came to arsenal what big trophies did we win? we were playing the game but it was not an exciting game, he bought exciting players in like bergkamp, henry pires, van-persie and fabregas. the football these guys play is amazing and alot of the credit should go to arsene. its hard, i know not winning any trophies, its not all the managers fault, sure he has bought a few players that havn’t worked, but on the whole we have a great squad, most of them play for their countries so they have to be good, they have to treat every game as an important one not go out, beat man-u or chelsea then lose against the lower clubs, they have to be bothered about winning, they have to want it, not one or two of them, it takes all 11 to be at their best, give their all for the arsenal, then we will win silverware and everyone can lay off the greatest manager arsenal will ever have.
Wenger is the best thing that ever happened to our great club!! He agreed with the Board that he would not spend much money for four or five years until the stadium debt was reduced. The Board led by Lady Bracewell Smith, the estate of Danny Fisman, David Dein and the even the Chairman Peter Hill-Wood let Arsene down by cashing in on the large assets which Arsene had built for them. The gloves are now off and you can expect substantial spending in the summer with 3 or 4 top quality players. Instead of all you plastics aiming your criticism at Wenger, this should be aimed at most of the previous Board. In Arsene we trust. Up the Gunners !!
We have people on here who ask what we won before Arsene took over. This is the type of fan that supports Wenger, the johnny come lately who actually think we won nothing before Wenger. Can you believe that

I will probably be attacked for this comment, but having been a staunch Gooner since 1969 when I was just 8 years old, I have seen a lot of Arsenal over the years and Wenger has put us on par with the club that Herebert Chapman built. In fairness, few others had since Chapman’s day.
Also – consider this: If ALL the shots that hit the woodwork from EVERY team in the EPL this season had gone in, Arsenal would have won the league on 86 points a week ago. Manure would be third on 73 points.
That’s how THIN the margins are between success and ‘failure’. Is that AW’s fault? I think he is most at fault for not being able to rouse the team when it’s needed. Or should the players take more responsibility?

I have said this on other sites and will say it here. Man U and Ferguson are the team to emuilate and try to surpass. Every time they have fallen slighty behind Us, blackburn and chelsea they have come back and by fixing problems with signings. Cantona retires, in comes yorke, sheringham, cole. Has the cream of the crop of young english players in beckham, scholes, nevilles and giggs (ok, welsh). needs a new centre back goes and pays 10 mil for Jap stam and when he leaves brings in ferdinand. cole stops scoring so in come van nistlerooy and then rooney and ronaldo. I could mention more but the last time Arsene really tried to fix a problem at arsenal was in 2002. We needed a new centreback to replace adams and what did he go an do? he signed Sol campbell. the most sort after free signing in europe one of the best center backs going. he convinced him to sign for us from spurs knowing sol would take moere flak osama bin ladin but he got him. since then arsene has used cheap alternatives to cover up the patches in the team. signing one player when he should have signed two. Hiding behind youth season after season and watching experienced players walk out the door.
look everyone says arsenal are 2 or 3 world class players away from winning the league. that may be true but the problem is we dont know. these world class players could come in and we could still finish 3rd or 4th. Wengers problem is that he wont take the risk . No fans will boo if world class players came in and the fought tooth and nail to try and win the league. but seeing the team whimper to a dismal finish again brings the hatered out in fans especially when some of them are paying around a grand for a season ticket.
‘In wenger we trust’ more like do we trust wenger to do anything different? i say no, he wont. he will buy 1 or 2 players most people have probably never heard of and the sam thing will happen yet again but this time we could end up 6th or 7th because if any one thinks man city, spurs, and liverpool aren’t going to be better next season then they have another thing coming. they will buy and buy well.

That stat about the wood work but it is no different than saying if all the shots that were finger tipped away or cleared off the line or went narrowly wide went in we would be top with a 100 points. The point of football is to put the ball inbetween the woodwork. and its part of the problem covering things up at arsenal. They are able to hide behind stats like that and say ‘oh if this had happed or if that had happed’ why not look at what actually happened and adress those problems. Why not look at the mistakes at some of the dead wood have made and move them on? why not look at the striking situtation and bring in some quality help for van p?
i agree with you that margins of failier and success are thin but those margins have been evident for the last 7 years and i’m afraid to say they seem to be gettting getting wider.

Rudi Garcia= Coupe de france and soon to be French champion with unfancied lille.
André Villas-Boas= Europa league finalist9final played to be played on thursday) with Porto and Portuguese league winners this season.
Guus Hiddink= Several dutch titles and European Cup winner with PSV, Managed in 4 world cups, FA Cup winner with chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp=Won promotion to the bundesliga with unfancied Mainz and kept them there for years and just won Bundesliga with Dortmund signing some unheard of players (similar to AW) and turning them into league winners.
a few other names= David Platt, Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams, David Moyes, Owen Colye, Van Basten, Vicent Del Bosque, steve bould or Liam Brady.
The thing is to educate your selves. Wenger is a great manager no one is doubting that but if he goes (which he won’t) there are other people who can be given the job. He is not the only bloddy manager in the world.
Just a piont on eve’s post. It was Bruce Rioch who brought the legend that is Berkamp to Arsenal. Sure Wenger has done great things, but the way things are at the moment were are far from greatness.
Even if he does pull out the cheuque book I think most players wouldn’t want to come to a club that the main achievement is to qualify for the C.L every season, don’t get twisted I mean it’s great we are in the C.L but call me pessimistc, I think we are not going to win it any time soon.

I think this close season you’ll see a few surprises. Wenger’s had enough just as we have. He’ll make serious moves this summer in my opinion. Like you said the others will only get stronger and if City finish above us, it’s a huge wake up call for Arsene and he’ll have no choice but to act.
I was reading evra’s comments about how ferguson puts so much pressure on his players to win the title, as if he demands it. When they lost to us ferguson said “do u not want to win the 19th? how many titles will u throw away? are you all crazy?”
Wenger has to follow that mantra next season. The one time he gave the team a bollocking was against liverpool 2 seasons ago when we were 1-0 down at half time. We came back to win 1-2 at anfield. More of that please Arsene.

We have to give Wenger one more season to get it right. Let’s knock some of those names off that long list of Frankie Frankie list.
Tony Adams Relegated with Wycombe in League One and given 16 matches with Portsmouth and won about three. Platt is again more a coach than a manager similar to Adams. Bergkamp is probably the same.
Frank Rijkaard was given a bottomless pit of money to win that one Champions League with Barcelona and nearly lost it to us in the final after one of our poorest league campaigns ever. He had a far more in depth sqaud than the current Barcelona team. Then lost the league twice to two of the poorest Real Madrid sides in living memory.
Rudi Garcia nice suggestion but again is still a bit inexperienced to takeover at Arsenal at this current period of time.
Andre Villa-Baros give him a chance to manage in the Champions League before making the step up to Arsenal.
Guus Hiddink retired and probably going back to Chelsea as an advisor or Technical coach.
Guardiola has at least one more season at Barcelona and even then he could extend it.
Jurgen Klopp again give him a chance to manage in the Champions League but is probably the most sensible suggestion because German league is a very competitive League.
David Moyes like him but has not won anything in 9 years at Everton very successful for Everton but still not won any of the major trophies.
Coyle again needs to win his strips at Bolton before making the step up.
Marco Van Basten did not have a great time at Ajax and did nothing with Dutch national team that amazing.
People forget that Wenger was a very successful manager at Monaco before becoming Arsenal manager. He earned his strips and already had The European Cup (Champions League) experience getting them to the Semi-Finals losing to a great AC Milan team if I have got facts right.
Deschamp is the most likely at the moment highly successful at Monaco and Marsellie Champions League experience but last I read about him he wanted to return Marsellie to the top of European ellite.
Arsenal is a massive job to take on and the Premier League is most difficult League to win in the world. It’s does need an experienced man at the helm to win it.

Wenger has not been successful these last seasons. The line bewtween and losing is razor thin.

Why is this so?I am no soccer expert. Both these teams let the gunners attack because Wenger believs in attack and not defence.And we know so often the match ends in grief for gooner fans.

For me Guardiola would be perfect but if he came to England it would be for Man U or Chelsea. Unfortunately outside of England those two are seen as the biggest English clubs, even though we know Arsenal are bigger than Chelsea.
The only other person would be Louis Van Gall. He was great at Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Plays attacking attractive football as well. If you read his comments about football and his philosophy it’s perfect for us and very Johan Cryuff!
I would like Wenger to go this summer, appoint Louis Van Gaal. Sell Cesc, Nasri, Almunia, Fabianski, Squilllacci, Eboue, Clichy, Manonne, Traore, Song, Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Arshavin, Bendtner, Chamakh, Vela, Eastmond. That will total £100m. Give that to Van Gaal and lets start a new chapter in this great football club of ours.
If Arsenal were the house of parliament, and the vote was 50-50, if it came to a vote of no confidence, the government of the day would probably lose, and an election would be called. Wenger at the moment is analagous to David Cameron; clinging to power only because the Lib. Democrats support him. But the trend is clear. Just like the current government, this Arsenal administration and its leader are increasingly on the nose. Time for a change.
You can pick holes in the names i suggested because they are just suggestions and i am sick of people saying there is no other alternatives. The fact is if Wenger decides to go then someone will have to do the job. You have to remeber that Wenger has been at the club for 14 years and in that time there has been a new crop , a new breed of manager. There are not many managers with wengers experience still managing so maybe the job will have to be given to a younger man without European champs league or europa league coaching experience. Also it was only a couple of weeks ago Dragan Stojkovic’s name was being linked as Wengers potential replacement if Wenger was to move upstaires and he has no experience at all of managing in europe. What i am saying is you can focus on the managers failings and say they are not good enough or you can look at the positives. Or suggest a few names yourselves without saying Mourinho or Guardiola. I would be interested in hearing who people would like as next manager. Personally i would like Van Gaal with Bergkamp as number 2 (really, just because i love bergkamp) . I know he didnt have the best time at Bayern but he is probabaly one of the most successfull and experienced out there. God track record with siging players and dealing with difficult characters and at AZ he showed he could take bunch of unknowns and make them champions.

I actually like Wenger and you can’t knock his passion for the game however in response to some of the drivel that people are writing on this comment page: When Wenger won the double in 97/98 it was largely with the same squad George Graham assembled….and the Bruce Rioch failed with. His sole signings were Bergkamp, Vieria and Diop! So to harp back about what he brought to this club is nonsense. All Wenger proved was he was great at man management and was able to get George Graham’s ‘boring’ Arsenal playing total football.
Now, if we zoom forward to present day and take a long hard look at Wenger’s own squad that he has had time to assemble we can plainly see Arsenal have gone backwards, all be it in an attractive way of playing the game. Gone are the solid foundations that underpinned that double winning side. The likes of Adams and Vieria have never been replaced. It’s like Wenger had the blueprint figured out of how to win the English Premier league but then threw it away and replaced it with lightweight attacking midfielders all over the park! Far too many of the players he has bought over the last 5 years have turned out to be duds! Arshavin! Rosicky! Diaby!!! Fabianski!!! Denilson!!!! Djourou!!! what is the man doing!!

Tony Adams Relegated with Wycombe in League One and given 16 matches with Portsmouth and won about three. Platt is again more a coach than a manager similar to Adams. Bergkamp is probably the same.
Frank Rijkaard was given a bottomless pit of money to win that one Champions League with Barcelona and nearly lost it to us in the final after one of our poorest league campaigns ever. He had a far more in depth sqaud than the current Barcelona team. Then lost the league twice to two of the poorest Real Madrid sides in living memory.
Rudi Garcia nice suggestion but again is still a bit inexperienced to takeover at Arsenal at this current period of time.
Andre Villa-Baros give him a chance to manage in the Champions League before making the step up to Arsenal.
Guus Hiddink retired and probably going back to Chelsea as an advisor or Technical coach.
Guardiola has at least one more season at Barcelona and even then he could extend it.
Jurgen Klopp again give him a chance to manage in the Champions League but is probably the most sensible suggestion because German league is a very competitive League.
David Moyes like him but has not won anything in 9 years at Everton very successful for Everton but still not won any of the major trophies.
Coyle again needs to win his strips at Bolton before making the step up.
Marco Van Basten did not have a great time at Ajax and did nothing with Dutch national team that amazing.
People forget that Wenger was a very successful manager at Monaco before becoming Arsenal manager. He earned his strips and already had The European Cup (Champions League) experience getting them to the Semi-Finals losing to a great AC Milan team if I have got facts right.
Deschamp is the most likely at the moment highly successful at Monaco and Marsellie Champions League experience but last I read about him he wanted to return Marsellie to the top of European ellite.
Arsenal is a massive job to take on and the Premier League is most difficult League to win in the world. It’s does need an experienced man at the helm to win it.

Nothing is permanent or static .Do you think the red faced could have survived for so long without winning trophies?I believe whoever takes over from him will have to bring success every sesaon or he is out. Wenger has not been successful these last seasons. The line bewtween and losing is razor thin.
The problem is he thinks he is always right.He is surrounded by yes men who fear for their jobs.The way the gunners play is very easy to counter.Wenger may not agree.Against the red faced and Chelsea he has been found out and the statistic will cause gunner fans heart attack.
Why is this so?I am no soccer expert. Both these teams let the gunners attack because Wenger believs in attack and not defence.And we know so often the match ends in grief for gooner fans.
Unless there is radical departure with regard to tactics and player recruitment,it will business as usual making for more frustrated fans.
For me Guardiola would be perfect but if he came to England it would be for Man U or Chelsea. Unfortunately outside of England those two are seen as the biggest English clubs, even though we know Arsenal are bigger than Chelsea.
The only other person would be Louis Van Gall. He was great at Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Plays attacking attractive football as well. If you read his comments about football and his philosophy it’s perfect for us and very Johan Cryuff!
I would like Wenger to go this summer, appoint Louis Van Gaal. Sell Cesc, Nasri, Almunia, Fabianski, Squilllacci, Eboue, Clichy, Manonne, Traore, Song, Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Arshavin, Bendtner, Chamakh, Vela, Eastmond. That will total £100m. Give that to Van Gaal and lets start a new chapter in this great football club of ours.

Under George Graham we had a much better team.

Wenger got lucky inheriting good defenders and then getting hold of Sol.

Wenger at the moment is analagous to David Cameron; clinging to power only because the Lib. Democrats support him. But the trend is clear. Just like the current government, this Arsenal administration and its leader are increasingly on the nose. Time for a change.

You can pick holes in the names i suggested because they are just suggestions and i am sick of people saying there is no other alternatives. The fact is if Wenger decides to go then someone will have to do the job. You have to remeber that Wenger has been at the club for 14 years and in that time there has been a new crop , a new breed of manager. There are not many managers with wengers experience still managing so maybe the job will have to be given to a younger man without European champs league or europa league coaching experience. Also it was only a couple of weeks ago Dragan Stojkovic’s name was being linked as Wengers potential replacement if Wenger was to move upstaires and he has no experience at all of managing in europe. What i am saying is you can focus on the managers failings and say they are not good enough or you can look at the positives. Or suggest a few names yourselves without saying Mourinho or Guardiola. I would be interested in hearing who people would like as next manager. Personally i would like Van Gaal with Bergkamp as number 2 (really, just because i love bergkamp) . I know he didnt have the best time at Bayern but he is probabaly one of the most successfull and experienced out there. God track record with siging players and dealing with difficult characters and at AZ he showed he could take bunch of unknowns and make them champions.

I actually like Wenger and you can’t knock his passion for the game however in response to some of the drivel that people are writing on this comment page: When Wenger won the double in 97/98 it was largely with the same squad George Graham assembled….and the Bruce Rioch failed with. His sole signings were Bergkamp, Vieria and Diop! So to harp back about what he brought to this club is nonsense. All Wenger proved was he was great at man management and was able to get George Graham’s ‘boring’ Arsenal playing total football.
Now, if we zoom forward to present day and take a long hard look at Wenger’s own squad that he has had time to assemble we can plainly see Arsenal have gone backwards, all be it in an attractive way of playing the game. Gone are the solid foundations that underpinned that double winning side. The likes of Adams and Vieria have never been replaced. It’s like Wenger had the blueprint figured out of how to win the English Premier league but then threw it away and replaced it with lightweight attacking midfielders all over the park! Far too many of the players he has bought over the last 5 years have turned out to be duds! Arshavin! Rosicky! Diaby!!! Fabianski!!! Denilson!!!! Djourou!!! what is the man doing!!
